Restaurant Belvedere in Spiez

Spa can be a bit small. But very nice hotel.

We had dinner twice at this restaurant during our stay at the hotel and on both occasions, the food was good and tasty. Mademoiselle Dominique who spoke perfect French and English took good care of us and served us well each time, while the other staff could still learn from her and improve the service quality. Overall, a good dining experience with a fantastic view of Lake Thun.

Inside, you will find a pleasant environment, friendly service and, above all, excellent food. Good, upscale cuisine. The atmosphere is a bit too “stiff”, but the good service makes up for it. Unfortunately, I had really bad luck with the wine one evening (I was already on the way to the vinegar and the replacement bottle was better, but not significantly better).

Nice food, stunning location. As the name suggests, the main reason to come here are the beautiful vistas of Spiez and the lake. The food could have been a little more flavourful, but it was made with high quality ingredients, presented nicely and prices decently. The truffle-flavoured butter was the most memorable part of our lunch.

Excellent cuisine, very pleasant and friendly staff. It will be a pleasure to come back during a future stay in the region.

It was as part of the Weekend4two offer that we ate in this very good restaurant. The welcome, the service and above all the quality of the dishes delighted our taste buds. A special card and decoration were reserved for our Weekend4two offer. We really enjoyed this evening.

The starter was good, but the main course was unfortunately disappointing. The fish of the day had the consistency of a rubber sole, but was immediately replaced. Unfortunately, the truffle on the young beef fillet was tasteless. At these prices you can expect more

The location is great and offers an amazing view of lake Thun. The service is overall good and friendly. The food itself was a bit mixed for us. Perhaps we had set our expectations too high given the ratings, or perhaps some key cooking personnel was off on Sunday. Presentation was great as you can see in the pictures, taste felt a bit more average to us, especially for this kind of budget and rating where we are used to a markedly higher level overall. Dessert options didn't inspire us although I admit that's partly down to personal taste.

Excellent cuisine and very friendly, attentive and humorous service (many thanks, D. Kocsi). The 4-course menu for the hotel's half-board guests was the daily highlight of our stay. The breakfast was also rich and very tasty.
