Restaurant des Evaux in Onex

Despite a promising start, a rather friendly welcome in a warm setting, the rest was less pleasant. The wait was endless before being able to eat but the worst was yet to come. Tasteless dishes, without any inspiration and, moreover, not very copious for prices worthy of Geneva: 50.- for arctic char, 48.- for eight perch fillets. The only dish that was satisfactory: the hamburger. But who can miss a hamburger? The arctic char, praised and recommended by the waiter, was almost edible. Indeed, an indefinable bad taste on my palate accompanied this tasting which turned into torture. And I won't spare you the details of the pseudo garnish. To top off the pigeonade, they didn't even have the decency to offer coffee to make up for the excessive wait. A fiasco!

Magnificent bright setting but disappointing service I recently visited the Evaux restaurant and was enchanted by the bright surroundings and the beautiful terrace. However, I must say that I was disappointed by the service which did not live up to my expectations. In addition, the price of 48 CHF for 8 perch fillets is quite high compared to the quality offered. In summary, if you are looking for a place with a pleasant atmosphere to relax, the restaurant in Evaux may please you. However, be prepared to pay a high price for an experience that may not be up to par.

We've been going for 3 Sundays around 4 p.m. and we're told it's closed... please update schedules (written 6 p.m.) We already drank something there in the summer: apart from a friendly waiter we were not particularly well received, products average and not very good (no brand like coke etc...) and quite expensive. I miss the good old refreshment bar which was superb

I go there regularly out of spite because it's near my house, but the place has changed operators several times and this is the worst I think! The servers are really not professional, you never know if it is open or closed! I arrived once at 11 a.m., I was told to wait 20 minutes even though they show 10 a.m. as the opening time everywhere (I had written to them to change on Instagram!)! The same waiter told me on Sunday that they close at 4 p.m. because there are not enough customers... Given the location I understand the problem but in this case we need to review their marketing strategy! That said for the few times I have eaten there, the buffet on August 1st for example was great! The decor and the terrace are nice, it's a shame that the place is so poorly managed every time!

We had a great evening for a birthday. The chef prepared a delicious menu for us. His prawn appetizer was a treat. The decoration makes the place very warm with its wood fire. Parking available!

A very nice discovery. Succulent, refined cuisine. All dishes are well presented. Completely renovated restaurant which offers a beautiful view of the countryside with a superb terrace. Congratulations to the whole team

After a wait of 30 minutes for finally some attention from an unfriendly waiter (a Sunday afternoon on the half-occupied terrace) a wait of another 10 minutes for two taps! (No more food available at 4 p.m.) In short, a place that "shows off" and absolutely deplorable service. I strongly advise against this place

Unfortunately, despite the change in management, the magic does not work. Neither good nor bad, if you are there why not eat there, but not enough to make the detour.

On a Sunday, a crowded terrace, two sweaty, unpleasant waiters who were clearly not made for service. We waited almost an hour for the dishes (too expensive for what they are) and almost 20 minutes for a single small scoop of ice cream! No food service after lunch, except desserts. And even worse: the toilets and their hygiene. Sorry for the term but disgusting. HS tap in the women's room, no paper, toilets encrusted with dirt, overflowing trash cans and even worse in the toilets where there is the changing table to change our children. Forced to be there because it’s the only restaurant in the park but clearly meh, it’s not worth it. Take your picnics and sit on the grass.

Very nice place, but deplorable service! Waiting hours for 1 bottle of water and a coffee, the waiter not friendly at all and even unpleasant...very unfortunate!

Friday lunch with colleagues. Very long wait, but I think that comes from the kitchen and not the service. I ordered a dish of the day, namely feta/zucchini quiche. The pie arrives with raw (industrial) dough! So I ask that my plate be changed. The waiter apologizes. He comes back with a new plate, the quiche has been changed but the problem is the same and what's more, my plate came out of the fridge, so the dish is frozen! I point out once again to the waiter who apologizes and tells me that he reported the problem to the kitchen before bringing me the plate. The chef insisted on giving me my dish like this. The waiter apologizes again, he is disappointed. We have the feeling that there is a big problem in the kitchen. So I haven't eaten my plate, it's 2 p.m. my stomach is empty! The dish will ultimately not be included in the bill. Run away, too bad with such a nice setting.

I came for the first time to have a coffee and the waiter refused to serve me because he was on break and told me that the restaurant was closed He resumes service 7 minutes later I find this completely unacceptable, especially since it is clearly indicated on the site that there are no closures. I will come back to get a second opinion, I hope this time positive

Despite the recent team change, unfortunately the service still remains poor; long wait and the servers are cold and unwilling. Food quality is still good but was better before. What a shame for a superb location and magnificent decor!

Pleasant garden restaurant. The Sauce des Evaux on the chicken leg from the grill was a black, very charred tasting, indefinable and inedible sauce. In addition, the chicken leg was not cooked through. Fries and grilled vegetables were OK

Warm place. Good food and good service. A beautiful walk is possible after the meal. Toll parking. Outdoor games for children. Beautiful terrace. Affordable price.

Superb location, beautiful menu but unfortunately we were very disappointed. I found a small price tag under my perch fillets... I discreetly reported it to the waiter but no reaction or return from him. He simply took the plate and didn't mention anything more. The food is OK but minimal welcome and service. Such a shame... After that I still went back for a drink on the terrace on a Wednesday afternoon and I received a cold welcome. The waiter told me that they had reservations on the terrace for the evening and that they had to prepare the tables (it was 3:30 p.m. and I was coming for a drink). 3 stars because the location is great and this place has a lot of potential.

It might be necessary to hire waiters for Sundays or days of high influence. Because often the wait is long even for drinks. Being forced to be there 3 times a week (football) the 3rd half can be quite expensive for a sports center! We should perhaps look into creating an additional refreshment bar for football clubs and families on small budgets with affordable prices. Because it still remains a sports center as well as a family park.

Change of team and unfortunately drastic reduction in the quality of the food despite specifications which should have been respected (community restaurant). In terms of decor and those little things that make you feel good in a place (which was the case previously), the new team's total lack of taste for all the changes undertaken. As a welcome instead of the designer bar and the smiles of the waiters, a huge useless and ugly drinks refrigerator and no smiles. This sets the scene, even the magnificent plants which brought a calming spirit have disappeared or are on the verge of disappearing (dry and yellow)... From a nice restaurant, we move on to an average canteen. Only advantage: it is located next to the adventure park so it is easy to satisfy hunger when the children finish.

This restaurant is just scandalous! The prices are just incredible for the quality of the dishes. They think they're a 3-star restaurant? Big scam concerning cold tea, 12.- per can 😱 never seen before. When we ask the waiter he explains to us that these are the prices and allows himself to lie by telling us that we were warned by his colleague. The Bolognese pasta was also overpriced even though there should have been 80 grams of pasta on the plate. To be strongly avoided.

12.- 4dl of Coca-Cola, are we in Saint-Tropez?? The waiter who claims to have warned us of the excessive prices charged by his boss, when he didn't. Funny method. 90 grams of bolognese pasta at 31.- surprising for a sports center refreshment bar.

Great time spent on a work outing! Great meal, great atmosphere, the evening ended on the dancefloor!!! And the staff 200% available despite all requests! WELL DONE!!!

Very beautiful restaurant, high quality service and an elaborate menu, highlighting local products (Evaux permaculture farm) very well worked. Their Josper oven which is used to prepare many dishes is a great idea. We've eaten there 3 times now and it's always a great pleasure.

Walk to Les Evaux, beautiful sunshine, people around AND…. A magnificent empty terrace because the restaurant is closed in the afternoon 😏! In a public park with athletes, walkers... Look for the mistake?!?!? DAMAGE

Too bad the restaurant is beautiful and good but this is the second time I have been told that the kitchens are closed even though on their website they announce closing 30 minutes later. Additionally, unpleasant service.

Expensive and bellow average quality. Definitely the worst part probably the best park in Geneva.

Such a waste ! The nicer the days, the less open it is... And the signs throughout the park indicate that "the cabin" IS open every day... But no, not at all! And if the weather is nice, it's closed.... The managers must be at the Park to enjoy... Too bad, on a Wednesday at 3 p.m., it's full of families, dog handlers and walkers who could keep the business going... So we'll go to the gas station to buy a plastic snack!

The restaurant announces that it opens at 11 a.m. everywhere (internet, brochures, etc.), when I got there I was told that the kitchen only opens at noon. Too bad, I made a special trip to eat there and it really bothered me to wait 45 minutes, as a result of the shopping I left. I note here the communication of the schedules and not the restaurant, the cuisine and the service which look very very good. I will come back to get a feel for the cuisine.

Last night was the third time I came to dine at the Evaux restaurant: the quality was in a very sharp decline!! Worthy of a canteen. I won't be back anytime soon.

But what an afternoon!! Many thanks to the top team who, despite the 15 people with incessant demands, knew how to keep a smile and perform! We are more than delighted with the welcome, the service, the dishes, the wine and even the grenadine syrup 😉 Looking forward to seeing you in this perfect setting to get together, stay as you are, we loved it 😁

a beautiful large terrace. but the shadow is cast by a large sail. so it can still be quite hot there. good menu with mainly local products.

Exquisite menu and very good quality and preparation. The team is dynamic, young and super friendly. You can feel the positive energy! The restaurant is modern and a pearl in the countryside, also recommended for families with children - there is a playground opposite.

Very good place, but too bad for 2 times I asked the bar for drinks, the person at the bar told me that the colleague was coming to serve us, we waited more than 15 minutes and no one came, we left without drinking anything …

Original. Excellent cuisine. Winning return with family. Warm, professional, and very friendly welcome. By trying other dishes on the menu we discovered the same quality, the same finesse and originality following my first solo visit. They also have a room that can be booked for events with 3 menus available. Thanks to Fathi for his availability and advice. I recommend without hesitation for the quality of the cuisine, the attentive service and the site. Well done, keep it up! :)

Very nice and cool staff (although sometimes too (nonchalant)). Dishes with local products: so it's very good but to keep prices attractive, we necessarily have less than what we would expect on the plate (but that's the concession to make for 100% local: have less for the same price or the same thing for much more, so OK). A lack of control over cooking the half cockerel served still pink (=not cooked enough) Reservations strongly recommended on weekends and days when there is no school

New premises, but without soul (it is a cafeteria), pleasant service but fairly average food (the blue rump steaks were cold)...what can we say about the concept of the vegetable garden on the plate? Why not, but without neglecting the kitchen aspect...the service is not everything in a restaurant...

The food is not worth the price. Fries were soft and not cooked, returned to the kitchen when they returned still blah, not crispy. Will do, not great flavor. Beef tartare, with ketchup, without asking for seasoning. Only positive point: Lovely staff. It was the first time but definitely the last time. The restaurant responds to positive reviews, but mine does not... Restaurant to avoid

Nice, quiet and welcoming facility

We eat very well. I ate an exceptionally delicious beef tartare. I have never had anything so delicious. The friendly servers all a very charming lady and always with a smile too bad she faces that extras it is worth the detour we ate sublimely at a reasonable price

My opinion might not be very popular, but I don't want to pretend that this is normal. I go to the bar: "monsieur, service a table", I go to the waitress -> she needs to go to the bar, come back with the notebook, I ask for a bill -> again madame needs to go find the card terminal and go back to me, and then maybe some time in the future the bartender receives the order to prepare the beers for me. The result: over 20' waiting for 3 draft beers (no, it was not crowded), which usually takes a brief moment, if only you would allow me to place an order like in the normal bar. My personal feeling is: if you want to be a fancy restaurant, just open somewhere in Geneva center close to other overpriced facilities, and please leave nice places like Park Evaux for less fancy bars that allow you to eat and drink well without spending 1h there. In the end to be fair, the staff was nice, and obviously the place itself is nice as well.

I have been there several times (4x) since February, the new restaurant is very beautiful and the fireplace creates a beautiful atmosphere! It’s a place where you can come without any problem with children. The food is good (beef tartare, burgers, marrow bones), a small downside on the perch fillets served "in a pile" on the side of the plate, not very classy and this made the fillets very soft...the fries also tend to be a little too soft... and served in too small doses... (a small pot). The promotion of regional products (meat, vegetables, wine, etc.) is a real plus and justifies the price of the dishes. You pay for quality! Special mention for the gamay (choully) which is really excellent for 36chf. The service is smiling and friendly but still seems a little broken down (reception, orders...even when there is almost no one there) and needs to improve to offer a perfect experience. In short, a beautiful place which still needs to make the final adjustments, which is normal being recent, but definitely a beautiful address where I will return regularly!

Brand new. The restaurant has just opened. Beautiful terrace. Friendly staff but a little lost. Excellent dish of the day. The rum baba without rum for the dessert was a bit sad. This is the beginning, I hope that once the break-in is finished it will go well.

A magnificent setting, sober and modern decoration. At first glance, it could only be a good plan. However, I quickly became disillusioned. No welcome at the entrance to the restaurant, but a multitude of insults and insults. The lunch tables still not cleared even though it was 4 p.m. After 30 minutes of waiting… Finally, a waiter came to take our order (2 hot drinks). However, after another 45 minutes of waiting, I decided to leave the place. To close this disaster, no excuses, no commercial gesture. I still note that this establishment has real potential, but for the moment, it is not being exploited in its right way.

Very bad experience, we came for a drink on Sunday afternoon. Very bad service, the waiters are very rude and make comments about customers. We waited 40 minutes for two cappuccinos, which were ultimately never served. Poor team cohesion and poor organization. This restaurant is absolutely not suitable for families, avoid it!

Very good time spent in this restaurant! The dishes are delicious and highlight local, quality ingredients. We regret not being able to taste everything. Magnificent setting, designer and warm restaurant. Our table had a view of the terrace and we had our backs to the room, we felt in our little cocoon, very romantic! This new restaurant is among my favorites in Geneva: delicious dishes, quality wine list, neat surroundings and cordial and attentive waiters. I ate the best ribs of my life, fries and mashed potatoes are also top notch. I will definitely return.

This new establishment is worth the detour. A walk in the Evaux park can complete this gastronomic stop. All offering a good time.

I stopped by to feed my little boy before the tree climbing and then I also let myself be tempted by a salad with Tomme Genevoise, quite simply the best salad of my life and yet I am difficult to please! Very pretty setting both inside and out! We really liked the local and quality menu. The service there was friendly. We will come back with pleasure to taste the rest of the menu. My favorite is the Soral lentil hummus and the perch fillets.

Lovely staff, beautiful setting, I love the concept where all the products are local (down to the ham, Coke, beer...) and the food is delicious. I find, contrary to some comments, that it is not more expensive than elsewhere, especially given the quality we have on the plates. This restaurant employs local artisans while offering a daily special at 20.-chf, really great!

Very nice location in the Parc des Evaux, on the other hand, deplorable service, slow, confusion in orders, not to mention the totally exaggerated prices... We are not at the edge of the lake, we are in a rather popular park...

After ten years of waiting, happy that this typical place in Geneva is reopening. Beautiful renovation, with terrace overlooking the Parc des Evaux A varied menu but a little lacking in summer dishes, only 2 months open, let's give them time to get going, especially during this special period. Most of the products offered come from Geneva municipalities, which means that the prices are a little high, but it is good to promote the local area. The fish was good (will do from Lake Geneva) a little fatty, everyone has their own tastes. Succulent beef tartare. The children had sausage fries, a classic, nothing to say. The desserts at the top: pear tart, delicious, the double cream meringue with red fruit, a treat, very balanced. Very good ice cream. Very professional and friendly staff. Nice rediscovery.

Nice restaurant. It’s a shame that the kitchen closes in the afternoon and they don’t offer savory/aperitif boards when you want to be on a terrace during the day. Only sorbet ice creams available! Friendly staff though!

Very friendly and attentive staff. Our server did not push for consumption and informed us well about the menu. The kitchen is open and very well maintained by the cooks. The beef tartare was excellent and well presented. Well done !
