We had a very nice stay at this hotel. The hotel is very traditional looking. It's an historic building well taken care of. The room was big, the bed was big and confortable. The restaurant is excellent. We didn’t make a reservation but they managed to squeeze us in because we were there early (booking recommended though!) There is a really great selection for all diets (meat eaters, veggie and vegan.) We had the vegan fondue, which is the best vegan one I’ve had. Delicious.

It was amazing weekend. The hotel with history and a lot of important details that new owners saved with respect. You could see that the hotel is in the process of renovation, it has amazing spa place, and soon there will be beer brewery, but it didn’t ruin the comfort. Just in few min from lift to the slopes. With gorgeous view on the mountains. There are some tiny issues like old floor but even this add the atmosphere to this place. It feels like you are coming to the cozy grandma hotel in Alps but with good wifi, new tech spa and vegan options in restaurant. Staff was amazing, smiling, welcoming, and speak perfect English. Practically nothing really changed since Remo was trying to manage hotels in Valais by emptying bars and bottle inventories he found on its way. Once more: shame on you. The wannabe-director can be found drunk 11 times out of 10 and most of the staff comes from east Europe just to save money. And after some years spent in embarrassing the Swiss hospitality industry he didn't find anybody anymore to hire him so he had to buy a cheap hotel where he could remain an alcoholic (at the expense of the guests and employees.) This place is a shame. The service a joke, and the room a nightmare. Whether you are a customer or an employee, run as fast as you can from this outdated property where not an ounce of care has ever been placed since day one. Big shame on you Kronig.

We had a fantastic stay at the Hotel du Glacier! Very charming and cozy room, and super friendly and helpful staff. Also very close to the train station and cable car, which is helpful if you want to discover the area and/or go hiking.The breakfast buffet offered great choices (even a selection of plant based drinks!). Yummy dinner was served in the nicely decorated dining room, while listening to soft jazz, and in the bar you can enjoy a tasty nightcap. The sauna can be reserved in advance and offers a nice time for relaxation after a day of hiking. Overall great experience! We definitely recommend this hotel and hope to be back one day!

We were very happy about the warm welcome, even at the late hour, and the great upgrade on your part, since you saw that we were staying with you for a longer period of time. You have to like the facilities. However, we love it, the history, the furnishings, the simple, old and yet cozy is exactly our thing. Here you can simply see that a true artist is on the move and incorporates history into today's times. Just wow. The breakfast is also spot on! Not too much frills and the bread is simply delicious. We didn't actually want to make full use of room service because we have sensitive skin and just wanted fresh towels every day. The maid, however, tried very hard every day to ensure that everything was perfect. We also had dinner with you twice. Even though we forgot to reserve again, it was a given that we would still get a table. I don't need to say much about the food because every time it was just fantastic. In summary, see for yourself. This is a must-see. What we will do better is definitely packing up the bike next time. There are great hikes, bike tours, via ferratas and much more here. We had a group excursion and made a reservation at short notice. Everything was extremely well organized and the food was phenomenal. I would come back in a heartbeat if we lived nearby.

Sandro is a great Hotel Manager and made our stay perfect. Very personal treatment. His taken his time for individual requests. Also the entire staff is very customer orientaed. The Hotel and rooms have a amazing charme. A great mixture of modern interiour and historical ambiente. You will enjoy this place if you look for individual atmosphere, far away from standard hotel chains and regular standards. You need to be ready to sleep in historical beds and walkd on old wooden floor rooms. Definetly i great experience for people who want to know, how people stayed in hotels 100 years ago. This hotel was perfect for a summer weekend hiking by Aletsch Glacier. Nice location near the train and gondola. The lobby, restaurant and Bar have been beautifully renovated. The rooms are old, but the beds are comfortable. The sound of the river next to you will easily relax and put anyone on sleep. I would come back and recommend this spot to others.

You need to be aware that with all the charm and history comes the potential for hearing people walk and talk in other rooms and outside surroundings like busses, water etc. it didn't bother us but you need to take that into consideration if that's not something you can tolerate. We also ate from the evening menu and had drinks in the bar, everything was great. Many thanks, we'd be more than happy to return.

We ate a fondue (with truffle), and I think it’s the worst fondue I’ve ever eaten in my life. Completely tasteless with a vague aftertaste of truffle oil... I think even the coop one to reheat in the oven is better, that's saying something... the bread is really not great and all that is for 30chf per person... it hurts ! The positives: the wine selection is excellent for the region, the setting is charming and the service is very friendly! What a shame that the fade is so bad!

The hotel is wonderful if you love historic houses. The hotel lives and breathes history. With every movement the floorboards creak and the beds squeak. It's half a museum, each room has a plaque telling a story from former guests. When you spend the night here, you not only travel to Goms, but also into the past. The renovated areas, such as the sauna and restaurant, fit well into the whole. The service was top and very accommodating. The only thing I didn't like was the soft electronic music during breakfast. Unfortunately, this is a trend in many hotels today. Unfortunately, it's even less appropriate here in a historic hotel.

Since we moved into our room before the start of the season, there was of course no staff on site, apart from the owner himself. The first night we were alone in the hotel. Breakfast is usually served in the large hall, but due to the situation in the modernized and atmospheric Edelskull bar, it was served especially for both of us. Not a 5-star but absolutely sufficient! On the second evening we were able to “test” the house kitchen, which started with a reduced menu at the start of the season. Here too, big praise! All in all, we had a short but special stay at the hotel! With this in mind, many thanks again to the patron who personally served and looked after us the entire time!

These warm and friendly gentlemen accepted a last minute booking for 14 people for dinner, and when our other hotel booking had a problem, they allowed us all to stay overnight with no sense of hassle or problem. Amazing last minute kindness when we were in trouble, they really saved our trip! Lovely rooms, and even a full size good quality pool table!

The hotel itself is OK. There is free parking, it's located on the river (so there are unfortunately a lot of flies), there's not too much going on in the town itself - but that's fine if you're traveling on a moped anyway. 3 months ago I wrote a review about this hotel which shared my subjective experience there. Unfortunately, the hotel itself reacted extremely questionably. I thought about how to deal with this for a long time, but I think we have a responsibility towards freedom of the press and democracy in our country. That's why you should know what you're potentially getting yourself into if you leave a not particularly good review here. After my review, I saw that the owner of the hotel had found my Linkedin profile (you can see this on Linkedin under Profile Views). So he found out where I work. Shortly afterwards he left a negative review for my employer. He had never had anything to do with my employer and didn't know him. Only with me as a private person. Nevertheless, he “had a bad experience with an employee.” I think things like this violate privacy and although I could take legal action, I think it's more helpful if other people know about it and not be intimidated. I hope many people have better experiences with this hotel, but that is my subjective experience and no one should be penalized for it.

We (2 children, 2 adults) arrived at the very pretty hotel on Friday evening unannounced (not reserved) around 6 p.m. Through the bar into the restaurant. We were surprised by the historic surroundings combined with modern and stylish details. The reception was very nice. The menu was exciting and modern. It's also very good to read and taste that local and sustainability are taken into account when purchasing. This is rare, especially in holiday destinations. The wine selection is good. The food is very good and was served very quickly. This even though we had 3 different dishes. The hot stone with beef entrecote and saffron risotto was very delicious. The cholera (local specialty) was also very tasty. And the fact that an ordinary pizza margarita can actually be a positive surprise is truly remarkable. The dessert apple crumble and chocolate nightmare were also very successful. A really good kitchen service was offered here. The service was very nice, attentive and helpful. The only drawback is the way it is served. Simply passing a dish across the table (in front of other guests) is not appropriate with such kitchen performance and stylish ambience. Placing the dessert spoons to the left of the plate is also clumsy. Nevertheless, it couldn't spoil the overall impression. Full marks are deserved.
