Sunday, sunshine and absolute walking weather. Unfortunately, you shouldn't quench your thirst, let alone your hunger, in the Seehof. We had to wait 40 minutes until someone served us, despite waving. At 4:10 p.m. people who wanted to sit down were already being shooed away. As we were leaving we said to the waiter that it was a shame to be served like that in such an exposed location. Instead of saying something like: Excuse me, we were surprised by the good weather and don't have enough staff, they just said, well, that's just the way it is, with someone like that weather, my mood to work dwindles. Then I just meant sh... sun, right? And he answered yes exactly. Conclusion: Staff seem to be afraid of sales.

The Seehof restaurant (with hotel) is located directly on Lake Lucerne. It has a very nice terrace and the interior is also stylish. The menu suits the location: great fish dishes. But the tartare also has something special: perfectly seasoned. The service is courteous, attentive and efficient. So if you're on Lake Lucerne, come to Küssnacht!

Very expensive at Christmas! I had to pay 291.- for a room with a dog. (other days the same room is 171.-) For 291.- I expect great service for dinner and breakfast. We were at the table at 6 p.m. and then got our food around 7 p.m. (probably even later). The mineral water was simply put there without having to be filled. We had a white wine with the aperitif. When we ordered a red wine, the service employee asked us if we wanted new glasses for the red wine?!? I'm sorry, what? The breakfast meal was very small and puny for such a high price. Even when we were eating tomorrow, the service staff didn't feel like putting away some of the dishes in between. I had to take a lukewarm shower in the morning and couldn't sleep until midnight that evening. Because they don't know anything about sleeping at night. Well, for that kind of money I expect more than what I got.

We were there on 25 Dec..Average busy...There was only self service on the terrace. No signs that it is opened or closed, no service staff. Several Customers waiting to be served as expected. In side the restaurant long queue to pay then wait again to get drinks etc given to you to carry yourself outside. Paid 59.80 for 2 black coffee,2 cappuccino n 2 small cakes pieces. Waited 21 minutes to get them. In the mean time coffee got cold. In my opinion way to expensive and very badly managed place.

As a local, your heart bleeds when you have to experience again and again how the service simply destroys the beautiful location. At no time have we experienced adequate service here in recent years! Today, with beautiful weather, the terrace was full but no service. When I lined up inside to get 2 coffees, I was denied them because they had a wedding to prepare for. 5 service employees walked around there aimlessly and were in a bad mood. You could get so much out of this location!!

I made a reservation for dinner at the Seehof with a special note that it was my birthday. I got my beautiful table for two on site for this special evening. What I found particularly nice was that the waitress immediately congratulated me, which I really appreciated. The ambience and food were delicious. At the end, when we wanted to order dessert, I was surprised by a delicious birthday cake that was offered. A splendid and welcoming hotel on the edge of the lake with parking spaces right next to it. Impeccable service, bedding that won't make you want to get up, it's so comfortable. We weren't allowed on the terrace for breakfast, the door was barricaded with 6 chairs. The breakfast wasn't 4 stars, you had to beg for another coffee, it was too bad for us again with such an unfriendly person. To redeem our voucher we went back to the restaurant after 2 weeks, the service was immediately poor, so it's standard there. Will avoid the beautiful place after 25 years. We have now taken the Alpenhof for Küssnacht to heart with its very good service, even if it cannot be compared locally. We have found a new lakeside hotel on Lake Lucerne, the owner runs the hotel, there are enough Swiss staff and they also train apprentices. Breakfast always on the lakeside terrace, coffee is served directly at the table, products are local, e.g. whole alpine butter, cheese from the alp, meat from the butcher, homemade jam, very good bread, plaited bread, croissants..., Prosecco... Direct access to the lake, you will be served even after swimming at the lake, staff well trained, very friendly, always helpful, an oasis of well-being. Prices are comparable to the Seehof. But I won't reveal the hotel here. Dinner is excellent with normal prices. We will never visit the Hotel/Restaurant Seehof in Küssnacht again and are very happy to have found an alternative. Mr. Kilian Henseler should run the restaurant/hotel himself or sell it again, then the beautiful property will be worthy again. Remimag Gastronomie AG manages 24 hotels/restaurants in Switzerland. We have already had similar experiences, e.g. the Schifflände. We will avoid all restaurants/hotels that Remimag Gastronomie AG manages. The concept has two losers (customer and employee) and two winners (Remimag Gastronomie AG and owner), as I said, customers should not support this.

I visited twice for lunch and for a coffee/cake. Both times the service was really awful. The first time was outdoor on a sunny but cool day. With most tables available, the waiter would not let us sit at a table in the sun but forced us in the shade because the sunny tables had been set with some place mats which she wouldn’t want to move. On a second occasion, we went in asking for a table to have coffee and cake, and with the place almost empty, we were asked to come 30 minutes later because they didn’t want anyone around while they were setting tables for the next meal. In both occasion, the service was ultimately rude and non hospitable. Food was just average. Probably what keeps this place in business is the very nice location, but It is a real shame that a venue in such a prime location is managed by people that are so incompetent when it comes to hospitality.

Beds are ok. A fan was provided - but not enough in midsummer. We wouldn't book the hotel again, especially because of the noise at night.
