This restaurant is a nice surprise in the country side. The service was very friendly, forthcoming and quick, the typical Swiss food tasted very good. I can recommend the Cordon Bleu. We visited the restaurant on a warm summer day so we enjoyed the tables in the shade under the large and old trees. The view of the hilly landscape is stunning, especially when the sun sets. There's enough space for visitors coming by car and there's also a bus stop right im front of the restaurant.

Every visit is a real pleasure. The cheese salad is my insider tip! Just like the Cordon Bleu. The salads are made the old school way, not store-bought products. The kitchen uses local products and the quality lives up to its promise. Great dessert in summer. An absolute pleasure, especially when the Thurgau strawberries are ripe! The Wild Card is highly recommended in autumn. There's also a lot of fine variety on the plate for vegetarians! The waiters and the host family work with a lot of passion, personality and happiness. Yes, Freudenberg is one of my favorite restaurants. Especially if you can sit outside. Guaranteed to be a pleasure!

On September 20th, 2022 we were a group of 55 people for a memorial dinner at Freudenberg. They are open especially for us on their day off! We ate very fine, tender meat, very tasty, freshly prepared vegetables and crispy fries. Everything tasted great and the service was very friendly and accommodating. The host couple is also very nice. Yesterday on November 4th, 2022 we were there again with 10 people. We ordered à la carte. A few of us had a very tasty pumpkin cream soup and most of us ordered Cordon Bleu, with a wonderful, creamy cheese, various vegetables and crispy fries. The vegetarians ordered a large vegetable plate, which came from the nearby area, was beautifully presented and very tasty and prepared with a lot of love. The dining room is homely and cozy, the garden restaurant is very beautiful with a fantastic view! Overall, a wonderful area!!! There is a swing and other play equipment for the children. Price performance is right.👍 Gladly again and again!

The restaurant no longer convinced me/us. Ordered a la carte for 7 people: a waiting time from ordering until the food came to the table was over an hour. If the food was home-style, like it used to be, then an hour would be completely OK, because there's no rush at a birthday dinner. Just: The French fries were warm, but tasted like dried out oven fries, and the fish crispy had too much salt. The vegetables were cooked too soft. For both grandchildren, the son specifically ordered from the service, instead of French fries, rice, respectively. Noodles. Yes, my grandchildren don't like fries... That didn't work. I haven't been there for a while and knew the place from before, when I was still working. It impressed me back then with its good price-performance ratio and the annual butcher's meal was always great. I don't know if the chef just had a bad day. I found his attempt to explain my criticism unconvincing. Hospitality looks different to me. To explain "That mistakes can happen and whether he should bring Fischchnusperli again?", after waiting for over an hour for 7 menus a la carte, without me. Of course, wherever people work, mistakes also happen. You don't have to explain this explicitly to me. A simple "Sorry, I'm sorry, can I offer you something?" would have been appropriate and hospitable in such a case. Missed opportunity. I/we will not come back.
