Restaurant Gemsli in Sevelen

A bit remote but the viewpoint over the Rhine Valley is awesome. Very friendly and also very funny Styrian-Carinthian hosts. The food was very, very good. Perfectly portioned, the eye has a lot to see and the perfect seasoning. I know tastes are varied, but if you like good Austrian cuisine, you'll really enjoy it. From my side 12 out of 10 points. Definitely again.

On the fantastically scenic cycle route Buchs - Buchserberg - Tobelbrugg - Sevelerberg - Sevelen, I stopped for coffee in the lovingly furnished self-service bar Gemsli. A big compliment to the climate guests, who offer this option for refreshment and rest even when the restaurant is closed (day off). A visit to the restaurant later is almost inevitable!

The best cheese spaetzle of my life... meat is organic and even regional. What a treat after a short ski tour.

Nice apartment, friendly owners and a very good restaurant. The apartment is modernly furnished and was clean. The kitchen is fully equipped, so if you want to cater for yourself here you shouldn't have any problems. But who wants that when there's a great restaurant downstairs - Except maybe Monday and Tuesday when you don't want to go down the mountain, then the restaurant is closed. Fantastic views not only of the valley but in all directions and paths for hiking and walking and for city children there are cows and sheep to see. Vaduz is clearly visible from the inn and a short trip there is also worth it. You can park right in front of the house, just the journey up the mountain is an experience the first time - But it's easy to find with the navigation system and the inn is also signposted. We only wanted to drive into the valley lure the Audi navigation system into a driveway (Sunnewies), but Google displayed it correctly. Thanks to Claudia & Martin, we really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back. Another little tip: If you are traveling towards Germany on the A14(AT) towards the A96 (to the right of Lake Constance), the A14 is toll-free between Diepoldsau/Hohenems to the German border. However, anyone who already drives into Altach and has not paid the Austrian toll will probably do so at some point The Audi navigation system also wanted to trick us here.

We stayed here in our motorhome for 2 nights while passing through. We had problems entering Switzerland because we couldn't pay the heavy goods tax anywhere. Searching on the internet didn't turn up anything either. The innkeeper then helped us by calling the police directly. So we all finally learned how to do it: with an app. The pitch is wonderful and I couldn't get enough of it. The two owners are very friendly and helpful. The food was very tasty. The journey made my heart race a little but was more than worth it.

We were here with the motorhome and had a wonderful day and a quiet night. We reserved a place by phone the evening before. When we arrived we were given the top seat at the front, although we didn't complain to the others. The landlord recommended great hiking/biking tours to us, one of which we did on our bikes. In the evening we showered (15SFR/night stay for both of us, everything was very clean and well-kept) and had a delicious meal in the inn. Slow food regional, GREAT!!! We didn't pay attention to the prices that day in Switzerland with a view to Liechtenstein, we would come back.

We were able to spend a week's vacation with Claudia and Martin and had nothing to complain about. Service top! The food is great and the apartment leaves nothing to be desired! Even different pillows to change whether they have feathers or not. Everything was there, not like in other apartments where you still have to get the toilet paper. You immediately felt at home. Homemade jams and a self-service market round everything off. And the view is gigantic! Claudia and Martin do such a great job, it's something you rarely experience!!! Only the weather let us down a bit in August, but there were also plenty of play options in the apartment, such as Monopoly, cards, Jenga and mills etc. Something like that was also thought of. 10/10 ☆

What a view from the balcony! Nice destination for a moderate not too challenging mountainbike tour with a tasty lunch. The food is fantastic and the service super nice. An absolute must when in the area.

As a group of 15, we were looked after excellently by Claudia and Martin. We started our event with an extensive and very creative aperitif. Afterwards we were served an excellent evening menu, which left nothing to be desired in terms of the craftsmanship of the cook (Martin), the quality of the processed food and the variety of the dishes. The overnight stay in the beautiful, very clean apartments and the dormitory was appreciated by everyone. The attention to detail (Claudia) was visible everywhere. As a free bonus, we were able to fully enjoy the wonderful view over the entire Rhine Valley. All in all, we were able to spend an unforgettable evening in the “Gemsli” and were completely impressed by the qualities of Claudia and Marin as hosts. Thank you both very much.

I've always thought on various MTB tours - I'll take a look - this time I took the opportunity after a ski tour and stopped in. It was worth it and I can only recommend the Gämsli. Nice service and first-class food - I'll definitely be back.

Really enjoyed my stay. Loved the apartment. The view from the balcony is amazing! To get there you have to drive up a very steep, narrow, winding road! It is pretty remote and to get to any shops etc you have to drive down the the mountain. My friend really appreciated it on the second morning when they brought out some vegan yogurts for him after finding out he was vegan at breakfast the previous day!

We stopped here in our motorhome on the way home from Italy. A wonderful view and fantastic gastronomy awaited us here. The owners are extremely friendly and practically read our every wish. It's definitely not the last time we've been to Gemsli :)

In addition to the attentive service, we particularly liked the sustainable orientation of the catering concept. The dishes are a mix of Austrian recipes with local products. The view and the cozy atmosphere are also pleasing. We particularly liked the idea of ​​a self-service guest area when the restaurant is closed.

Came from Canada. Visited for 1 night while travelling throughout Switzerland. Amazing home made meal and restaurant service made by owners. Room was cozy and comfortable with clean amenities. Views on top of the mountain were incredible during the fall season, very accessible. Highly recommend checking out even just for a good authentic Swiss meal!

Very nice mountain motel. Insane view. Very nice service. Opened especially for us. It also has a self-service corner and cozy lounge for hikers and mountain bikers.

34 francs for the daily plate, 11.50 for the daily cake and 5 francs for a 5 dl glass of water (ordered tap water) is exaggerated (almost a rip-off).... Nice view and terrace, outdated hotel, few people… (because of the unjustified prices?) Prix ​​exagérés (5 francs le verre d’eau bien que demandé une carafe) 34 francs le plat du jour (quelconque)… Overrated prices, medium quality cuisine, 5 francs for a glass of tap water…to avoid!

Great view of Bux. Unfortunately the outside veranda was closed. They cook well. The choice of dishes is small. Due to internet problems, only cash is accepted. Definitely worth a visit.

1.5 hour wait even though the restaurant was practically empty. No card payment. But the food and the view were good.
