Great excursion destination with a great viewing terrace. The ice creams are legendary. They are made by a nearby factory and refined into wonderful coupes by the kitchen. A must on every visit. The well-filled Kafi-Luz are a real joy, and not just in winter.

I can highly recommend this restaurant, we come here often, it is family friendly and dogs are welcome. They serve good traditional Swiss food, service is excellent and super friendly. Our two children love playing at both of the two playgrounds at the restaurant and to go see the donkeys. They also have a little play corner with toys inside. Around here there are also wonderful biking and walking trails. And the view is spectacular...

Yesterday we celebrated Dario's 60th birthday in Herrenberg. A beautifully located inn (the name says it all) with the best views, good food, good wine and excellent service. Every special request was addressed without stress and professionally, regardless of whether it was expressed by children or adults. That's still there too! The guest feels comfortable here! Cozy restaurant with a view. Whether you're driving or after a hike, this restaurant is just right for you. You eat well and the prices correspond to what you get. Enough parking spaces available. Large terrace in summer and a children's playground. Restaurant in the countryside.

Super cozy rustic restaurant, very tasty food, super nice service

Rustic inn with very friendly service, very good food and a great view (sun terrace). The trout are caught in the house pond. Prices are reasonable (at Swiss levels), large portions. We had the classic: Zürcher Geschnetzeltes with Rösti (grade 1), with a salad (crisp, fresh). TIP: Be sure to try a dessert - for example the berry gratin with ice cream and whipped cream 😀

We ate at the Gasthof Herrenberg, Bergdietikon on our 24th wedding anniversary. The decoration at the dining table was beautiful! Tablecloth, real flowers and all hearts scattered around. The food was rösti and veal liver. Unfortunately, the Rösti were burnt black on top and the Leberlis were a bit bloody and flaxy. The finish was the Zug cherry cake, straight from a very well-known pastry shop. The service was extremely friendly. We even sat at the window afterwards, with a wonderful view! THANKS. The inn should be repainted and the chairs and curtains should also be replaced.

That was underneath everything 😣 at the beginning 'smelly glasses' which were refilled without apology with the mineral water we had already bought. Then the main course, the rösti was simply inedible and finally the complete bill was presented to us despite a complaint. When we asked, we were told we had to pay for it and we were offered dessert or coffee. Brazenly and in view of the service staff: "What's going on here?" underneath everything. Thanks for nothing! They obviously don’t need customers 😞.

We visited Herrenberg last weekend. Unfortunately, the day after we had severe stomach pain and diarrhea. After contacting the manager, we had the impression that she was not taking our concerns seriously and was downplaying them. A pity… The staff during our visit was unstructured and a bit confused, but friendly. In any case, we will no longer be visitors to Herrenberg any time soon.

Traditional Swiss restaurant, expect typical dishes for this type of place but certainly well executed. I still sometimes dream of their "Caramelkoepfli" :) Don't miss the view from the terrace on a sunny day out. They're good with large groups and festivities as well.

It's always very familiar and pleasant in Herrenberg. The cuisine is predominantly traditional. The prices are more than fair.

First take a walk through the fields, forests and meadows and then enjoy the wonderful view on the sun terrace with an Aperol spritz!

The food was very good and there was nothing wrong with it. But that we were already at the table on the terrace at 12:00 p.m We were sitting, but the menus we ordered were not put on the table in front of us until 1:00 p.m. You can't sell it to us because of the lack of staff or the many guests, since we were the first guests on the terrace. Many guests ate, paid and left but the food we ordered was not on its way to us, so more would be achieved with honesty.

Very pleasant outside in the summer!

We went to the Heerenberg restaurant today, August 14, 2022. The staff was simply very good and generally they had a very high level of tolerance towards the many children we brought with us. Unfortunately, the main course wasn't exactly a gem, or rather, we've eaten better in the Heerenberg restaurant. So the 4 stars are the maximum I can give for the whole thing. If you only rated the food, 3 stars would be appropriate. The salad was blessed with very little sauce, but with additional brown nut leaves. The main course was relatively bland and not of the usual quality. Here too, a little more sauce wouldn't have hurt anyone. I will definitely stop by again and hope that the kitchen has developed positively.

The food was quite ok. Service nice. we had a company event Shortage: No sign at the entrance due to the risk of slipping because it has such slippery surfaces. I slipped myself. Unfortunately the service person didn't even offer me ice cream. * No reception or greeting.. Sometimes you have to shout at the desk for an SM to come out.. *if you are allergic to something. will be seen last. (partially forgotten) *they also serve the normal menu for allergy sufferers.. although I have emphasized this several times.. *fully tattooed service grandma... which sometimes scared me... * Unfortunately, it's an old building... which sometimes smells strange... you notice it especially when you're in the basement... (bowling alley or toilet is located there) Positive: Beautiful view. Rich portions and you can get something extra. *Even in bad weather you can do something with you.

On Sunday, June 5th, 2022, I had dinner there with my sons. In addition to the unique view from Herrenberg, the great thing about it is that the food can always keep up with the view. A bit of salmon as a starter, followed by the finest Chateaubriand with rich vegetables, rice and croquettes and a fine wine. Great, attentive and friendly service all the time - And, I would also like to mention, at 57.00 CHF per person, a more than fair price for the Chateaubriand! Great evening, fantastic food - I can only highly recommend it.

Long waiting time, small portions, high prices

A sunny Sunday and a lot going on on the Herrenberg. Unfortunately, the service on the terrace was hopelessly overwhelmed and friendliness was downplayed. It's a shame, because the operating staff wasn't really "far from any hustle and bustle", as written on the website. The prices are pretty Zurich city oriented. The view is phenomenal!

A very nice inn with a fantastic view and very beautiful surroundings, very friendly staff and quick-witted, especially the daughter. I can only recommend the Gasthof Herrenberg to you. Of course there is also very good food. Best regards Erich with 3 croquettes 😉

Reading through the other reviews I'm a bit surprised... I think most of the stars were given more for the view and the playground. The food is absolutely below average, I was very disappointed… The interior of the Gastohf definitely needs to be spruced up and better maintained. Without this view and outdoor area, I would have given 2 stars.
