Restaurant KAORI in Freienbach

The food was very good, the service was nice and was relatively quick when something was ordered. The atmosphere in this large hall without a proper closure to the front is not very pleasant and the hard, inwardly curved wooden chairs make you want to leave relatively quickly.

What can I say: one of the most disappointing sake lists I've ever experienced in a Japanese restaurant.

The food and ambience are appealing. But what is completely disappointing for a Japanese restaurant is the measly small sake selection, with the staff not being able to make a really competent recommendation despite the manageability. There's still a lot of room for improvement!!

Service and Food are good. The interior is not very pleasing and reminds more to a canteen than a Restaurant although some design elements like the big wall picture is nice.

Great Japanese - lunch and dinner For anyone who likes Japanese food, KAORI is still something of an insider tip. At lunchtime, the Sushi a Discretion offer is unbeatable. Tip: bring enough time to really enjoy it. In the evening, in addition to sushi, sashimi, etc., bowls and entire Japanese dishes are also on the menu. Always freshly prepared and beautifully presented. The wine list is also impressive, as there is always a good accompaniment to the cuisine. It's also nice that the Seedamm Plaza is close to the train station. This means you can easily enjoy the evening with a good wine.

best sushi to go far and wide! classic sushi (japanese style) without any frills or firecrackers. high quality, top craftsmanship, best ingredients, mildly acidified rice, beautifully put together. always a pleasure. Thank you very much.

Very tasty, friendly service and a mostly quiet atmosphere. The lunch special for sushi is highly recommended. We always enjoy coming back 😊

Japanese cuisine at the highest level. The ambience, service and dishes are authentic and high quality. Once discovered by chance, we now come here regularly and have never been disappointed.

Kaori serves high-quality Japanese cuisine in an uncomplicated atmosphere. The Japanese boss is a master of his craft! Each dish is a symphony, beautifully composed and supremely enjoyable.

Atmosphere and dishes are very authentic. We had tuna tartare, beef tartare, wakame salad and various sushi rolls, everything tasted excellent. The service was very friendly and accommodating. Thank you very much.

We ate at Kaori on our wedding anniversary. First of all I have to praise the absolutely friendly and warm staff! Second to eat. It was a culinary delight, simply wonderful in taste. The dessert rounded everything off perfectly. A wonderful evening. Highly Recommended!

Very nice atmosphere, fresh flowers on the tables, matching pictures. Friendly and attentive service. Large portions: We had a seaweed salad or tuna tartare as a starter. For the main course we shared the mixed suhi platter. We have hardly eaten such fresh and delicious sushi anywhere else. The remaining sushi was still very good the next day. The green tea was served in a beautiful pot.

The food is good and the service makes an effort...unfortunately it is not comparable to its predecessor, the Nippon Sun, where the price-performance ratio was much better and therefore it is not convincing to come back. It is a shame

The renovation is very nice and the food, the staff is very nice and attentive all though what seemed to be the manager saw me reaching out twice without paying any attention.... prices are okay, midday menu could cost a bit less I enjoyed the Bento Boxes from the old one.

High quality, very nice service and a bright, spacious and cozy restaurant. The lunch was very nice.

We were here for lunch together at midday. The former sushi restaurant in Seedamm Plaza was small and rather dark, but now it is much larger and brighter. The interior is very well done with lots of light wood and beautiful furniture. The sushi was freshly prepared and of very good quality. There are many traditional and “new” sushi like those made in California, with warm or crispy components. Very tasty 😋 We would love to come back 🍣

Very cozy and good food, highly recommended.

Used to be my favorite sushi place around Zürich, very affordable and with great sashimi of around eight types of fish. Now, after the renovation in summer 2019, it reopened with a “new concept”. The new concept means: only two types of fish in sashimi (salmon and tuna), higher prices for sushi, a factor of two smaller cocktails for the same price. Nice concept!

Fine sushi and poke bowls! Nicely furnished, even a bit of a view of the lake in the front. Highly recommended. Unfortunately, Japanese specialties like the fine beef fillet strips from Nippon Sun are no longer available😢
