The sweet swirls with the spicy while the sour dances with the umami - an evening of sheer satisfaction, unique discovery, magical tastes. Thank you for giving us a night to remember - right from the very first booking, confirmation email, prompt communication for the kids and our group, to the actual dinner with impeccable and friendly service - thanks to you we will surely be sending loads of recommendations and hope to be back someday for more! Was there for the third time and as always it was excellent. In a relaxed atmosphere you will be taken on a culinary journey. Thanks @Magdalena Team. The only drawback on my part is the wine accompaniment to the 7-course meal at two locations. But of course that's a matter of taste and you can ultimately change or stop drinking the wine yourself.

Great food. However, the recommended wines were the wrong choice for the highly savoury food. They were simply too overpowering. A pity for the nice food. I'm really surprised that a sommelier on this level is this inexperienced when it comes to food pairing.

If you ever need to convince someone about vegetarian food, this is your place: very creative dishes with phenomenal taste based on very good ingredients.

We had a great dinner at ‚Magdalena‘! The restaurant offers a surprise menu either vegan or vegetarian and can be accompanied with a wine or alcohol free pairing. The food was very delicious, freshly made and all dishes were prepared in a creative manner and in a surprising composition! The plates were lovely decorated and each dish was a piece of art! The service just lovely, as they explained the food very well and made good recommendations for the drink pairing. The restaurant has a great interior design and the view is absolutely stunning when the weather plays its part.

The sustainable restaurant is excellent with a fantastic view. Everything was fabulous that day. The vegetarian dishes were of very good quality and tasted excellent (we had the 6-course lunch menu with wine accompaniment), the corresponding wine tasted excellent and the service was always friendly and very accommodating. We had a really great afternoon. Highly Recommended.

A wonderful restaurant with excellent service and incredibly good food. We were pampered from start to finish that evening (our visit lasted approximately 4 hours). Tl;dr: exceptional food, great service and atmosphere; in the running for the best dining experience of my life. If you have the means and opportunity to eat here, do so. My partner and I dined here to celebrate her birthday. It was our first time at a 2* restaurant, and both of us got the full 7-course menu. Every dish was meticulously crafted and balanced, with intense, complex flavor profiles and impeccable presentation. Highlights included the cheese and fig mustard pate a choux (part of a snack to start), the fennel amuse-bouche, and the corn & chanterelle soup. That being said, a first-rate quality was maintained across every single dish, making it nearly impossible to pick favorites. I am not vegetarian but did not miss meat or fish once, so I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to any (non-vegan) food lovers. The kitchen was extremely generous in serving us multiple additional plates or courses beyond the listed 7. If the quality wasn't so incredible it almost certainly would have been more than either of us could have eaten in a single sitting, but we happily cleared every plate. We both opted for the wine pairing, but were encouraged to try each wine first, and were able to skip some glasses at our leisure. We only paid for the glasses we actually drank, which is an idea I hope to see more in the future. The wines we did drink all had unique backgrounds as explained by our server and paired with the dishes well. Our servers were kind and attentive, and we are grateful that they were willing to speak English with us as my partner is still learning German. The head chef Dominik Hartmann personally served us the first and last dishes. He seemed friendly and approachable, and we were happy to be able to personally thank him for this outstanding meal. Of course such a meal does not come cheap, but given the sheer quanity of unique dishes and the high cost of restaurants in Switzerland the price of the food genuinely seemed fair. My one criticism would be the practice of charging a significant amount for water, which has less to do with this establishment and more with Swiss (or nothern/central European?) restaurant culture in general. I don't expect bottled water to be free, but 9 chf for an unlabelled carafe of still water is a lot, even (or especially?) when you are already paying several hundred for dinner. The restaurant decor is simple yet sophisticated, with and understated refinement completely devoid of pretentiousness which allows the food to always be in focus. The beautiful view of the Vierwaldstättersee and surrounding mountains were a perfect backdrop. Overall, our experience was overwhelmingly positive. It was a true joy to experience the many unique flavor combinations from this exceptionally talented and innovative team. Given the right occasion we would be thrilled to come back!

It's not about the food. But the wine accompaniment is not really skilfully matched to the food. It's a shame that almost all of the wines are too dominant, which works against the great taste components of the food.

So beautiful! What a view of the lake. A really perfect setting. I look for top vegetarian gastronomy all over the world, this is the (almost) perfect place and we will definitely come back. We had great Chardonnays from the Buendner Machtum and French Switzerland, the courses were really delicious. A tiny bit on the sour side perhaps (due to the season there was a lot of cabbage) but luckily they are not “radically local”, they probably import from Italy too. That was a really wonderful evening, thank you very much.

I am always impressed in Switzerland to see how high the level is and at the same time how young the chefs are. Magdalena is one of them. We are not vegetarian, but we enjoyed the veggie experience. The food was excellent, the setting super nice with a beautiful view to the Schwyz region. The Chef came at the beginning to serve and present the canapés and at the end to check whether we liked the experience (which we did, and it's always a pleasure to exchange a few words with the Chef!). Great options of non-alcoholic or alcoholic pairing (or you can get a mix of both, so you don't get drunk before driving :-) ). Special mention to our waitress Melanie who was super kind, efficient, and friendly: everything we love in such kind of restaurant!

Every dish was perfectly prepared and refined with fresh, high-quality ingredients. We were really impressed and think the restaurant deserves every star and every Gault Millau point. The team in the restaurant particularly impressed us with their attentive and friendly manner. The employees gave us the feeling that they enjoy their work and that it is important to them that the guests spend a pleasant time in the restaurant. This positive atmosphere contributed significantly to our overall very positive impression. Amazing experience at this michelin star, gault millau restaurant. The food is impeccable and the choice amazing. Pricing of course is steep but totally worth the experince. You will enjoy concoctions that we rarely put together in our minds. Four friends, had a brilliant time. The food of course was made with a lot of butter and fat so recommend to have a sports session planned before and after. If you are lactose intolerant they will be happy to listen. One of our friends rarely enjoys plain vegetarian food but she too loved the food. Can recommend this to anyone. Best will be to drive there as public transport will be long and limiting the experience in the evening

If I could give ten stars I would give twelve! At the end we were given the menu on a leaflet to take home, which I found very attentive as I couldn't remember everything with seven courses and various “goodies”. The interior of the restaurant is very modest and simple. I did not expect much because i saw some pictures on Google before coming and wasnt even sure if the vibe will be good for a romantic dinner with my husband, but when we entred and wow. I was pleasantly surprised. This restaurant has a beautiful view on mountains. The food looked amazing. Every dish looked like a small garden on a plate and tested delicious, we had alcoholic paring as well as non alcoholic. Both were great and really complimented the food perfectly. The funny thing is we did not know that Magdalena is a vegetarian restaurant. After the main course we asked the waitress if there will be any meat dish so she told us they are a vegetarian restaurant. We did not even mind. Honestly the food was delicious and we were so satisfied that we did not even missed the meat.

It was a perfect combination of customer service, and waiter and waitresses’ knowledge of the menu, meeting the chef, the artistic design of dishes and packaging and the local sourcing of ingredients. There were many creative and artistic dishes. Everything was well appreciated. We didn’t realise it was a pure vegetarian though that was not a problem at all.

I visited this place on 15th May 2022. It was a very pleasant and unique experience. Staff of Restaurant was very polite and knew in minute details about their very innovative drinks and preparations and delightful presentation. They were keen to explain ingredients and sometimes they asked us to find out ingredients of non alcoholic beverages by tasting it. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Strongly recommend to visit.

Magdalena is a restaurant with very high standards of pampering guests with culinary delights according to every trick in the book. As guests, we knew that this was done with purely vegetarian preparation. As people who enjoy meat in moderation in their private lives, we were curious to see how we would like an eight-course meal in this restaurant. After about four hours of pampering, all of us returned home thrilled and satisfied. Without an overfilled stomach! In terms of cost, it was worth the unique experience, but we won't be able to afford it again for another year or two.

Incredibly creative cuisine in a beautiful setting. Talented young chef extracts complex flavors from organic, local produce. Wine pairings are excellent and there is also a non-alcoholic pairing available. A superb and very friendly team made our dinner a truly wonderful experience. Definitely worth the visit!

The Magdalena Restaurant is a perfect experience throughout. This begins upon arrival; You can park comfortably in the underground car park and go straight to the restaurant from there. The guest room is minimalist and modern, the view is fantastic. The service is perfect: nice, open, professional, but still not stiff or snooty like in other star restaurants. Every single employee conveyed the concept of the restaurant throughout the evening without leaving a trained or artificial impression. There's nothing you can say about the food except: world class. Each of the predominantly vegetarian dishes is prepared so uniquely and creatively that you get an all-encompassing taste experience with lots of umami. The local and seasonal aspect is also fully conveyed. If we lived nearby we would definitely become regular customers. So we have to look forward to the next opportunity for such a great experience.
