Discovered it by chance on the internet and tested it straight away. The observation tower and the restaurant are located in the middle of the forest. Good signage and the tarred road ensure easy access by car. There are sufficient parking spaces available for guests. The place can also be explored on foot from different directions. If you don't have a head for heights, it's worth climbing the tower to enjoy the view over the treetops into the distance. After a nice walk, we stopped by the cozy forest restaurant for coffee and a delicious dessert during the week and were not disappointed. It's nice to occasionally find these simple but lovingly furnished restaurants, which are unfortunately becoming increasingly rare. We can't rate the food, but the meals on the neighboring tables looked very, very tasty. The staff is very attentive and very friendly. Very pleasant service, we really appreciate it. This destination is certainly a great option for families. Wonderfully quiet on weekdays, although it was a rainy day when we visited.

We go to Maiengrün almost every week with the family. To this day we have always received very nice service and the food is also excellent. Coincidentally, we were also there on the 'bike day' and add the following: the two people first put their bikes in the middle of the terrace! And it was the waiter who asked them to park their bikes in the appropriate place. And not the boss! Ask for more respect. Get a personal picture of the oasis.

The place is beautiful, with the garden and the surroundings. Very cozy. We came as a group. The group leader gave us a price that we could accept. The food was good and there was plenty of it. Unfortunately, there were disagreements at the end because we had to pay almost double what was agreed. I don't know why it happened like this. But what is certain is that I will not visit this restaurant again and I will not recommend the Maiengrün restaurant to anyone. This lunch was far too expensive.

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience on my last visit. First came the bottle menu (it was exactly the same on the last visit) even though I was the first in our group to order. The amount of food for Fischskrustperli was also very meager (four small pieces). This for a price of 31 francs and without an included starter as a menu is already steep. No recommendation from me.

We received an unfriendly welcome and were then rudely told that there was no room (that wasn't the case) and that it was a closed society. The entire facility is designed to be unfriendly to customers. Thanks, but not like that, luckily there are plenty of alternatives where customers are still welcome.

Coupe were good, staff friendly. Unfortunately, the seating area was closed with “bleaching” when the outside temperature was 30 degrees. If there was still space outside, you would just have to set up chairs, tables and a parasol. Tens of people were able to leave again🤷🏼‍♀️

We were registered for dinner with 8 adults and 2 children. From the reception to the farewell, everything was to our satisfaction. The food was prepared and decorated with love. My wife's special wishes (celiac disease) were also taken into account and we always asked the kitchen exactly what ingredients it contained. Thank you for the lovely afternoon.

We wanted to take a look at this restaurant on Sunday to get a personal impression. There was a board at the entrance stating that the restaurant closed at 5 p.m. Since it was just before half past four, we thought we would just have a quick drink and come back another day to test the offer in detail. At the entrance we were briskly “welcomed” by the innkeeper (without a greeting), with the flippant remark that the restaurant was closed at 5 p.m. and there was nothing left. A very strange behavior for a host, especially since after the forced closure of the pandemic it could be assumed that an innkeeper is grateful for every guest, especially since this business is very remote. We will not make the journey again and will be happy to come back when a new host has taken over this beautiful business and runs it in such a way that the customer has the feeling that they are warmly welcome here!

Never again! You're not allowed to sit at the tables yourself, so we waited with a toddler and baby. But when we were ignored several times, we just sat down. We waited about 15-20 minutes and were still deliberately ignored. The same problem seemed to occur frequently with the guests in front of us. Also worth mentioning are the unsympathetic and countless warning and prohibition notices. A pity!

We wanted to go out for dinner with the family and made a reservation for 8 p.m. When asked, the managing director personally said: “Stop, if you have to!” - as the kitchen normally closes at 8pm. Unfortunately we had to cancel due to scheduling conflicts. The owner reluctantly noted the cancellation - we thought... On the day of the original reservation, three calls came: "Did we write something down wrong, or where is the dog buried? We're closing the kitchen at 8 p.m.," was the message on the voicemail. When we called back later, we were brushed off - the owner didn't listen to us and dismissed the call. We can understand the difficult times of the restaurant owner, but not such treatment of his potential customers. Definitely doesn't encourage word of mouth.

I'm trying to write the review in a rhyme to help deal with the disappointment. 3 years ago in Maiengrün: Fine, polite and beautiful. Now we wanted to go back. Reservation almost unpleasant, The boss didn't think our time was good! Unfortunately we had to cancel the reservation due to a scheduling conflict, The boss didn't like that at all and began to react stupidly. On the evening of the reservation (ALTHOUGH CANCELED), several telephones came from the boss on Combox with the wording inappropriate. The following day the same thing again with the telephone. When you call back to the May green, he falls into your tone, and then his conversation on the phone was finished. Rude, Disrespectful, Disappointing! So you don't get any "wages". What a shame! We will not visit this restaurant again!

But what followed our early cancellation due to scheduling conflicts is anything but GILDE-compliant: Telephone terror from the tenant himself.
