I have been a happy guest for 60 years. I've never been disappointed. The Rösti and Guggelhopf have been famous for generations of innkeepers.

Food very good and nice portions. Apart from salad there are no vegetarian suggestions. Not even the hash browns.

When I take a trip to Braunwald, my destination is always Nussbüel. The hike from the village there is wonderful, then the welcome in the restaurant is lovely. A poem is of course the fine Rösti with bratwurst, for dessert the homemade Gugelhupf with cream or the meringues. I will definitely plan a trip there again.

Soup and hash browns are delicious.

What looks nice at first glance turns out to be a restaurant with very bad food. There are no hot vegetarian dishes on the menu. When the owner suggested making rösti with a fried egg, we got rösti soaked in fat. The cheese with bread turned out to be old bread in a plastic bag. The piece of cheese turned out to be 10.50 francs and for the nasty rösti with egg we paid 14(!!) francs per person. The price was not on the menu, so we felt cheated. The rösti also turned out to contain remnants of bacon. So difficult to call it vegetarian. The two of us ended up losing almost 50 francs for very bad food. I strongly advise against it!

Picturesque mountain restaurant run by a friendly host couple. Child-friendly walking distance to Braunwald, great little playground with slide and sandpit. Courteous and very friendly service. The only point of criticism on the first visit was the lack of salt and pepper shakers on the table, which was already remedied the second time. Excellent Rösti and delicious regional sausages at fair prices — highly recommended!

Guests who eat meat are sure to be satisfied at this beautifully located mountain restaurant. The situation is different for guests who don't eat meat: there is not a single (!) warm vegetarian dish on the menu. The two hash brown dishes, normally a safe bet, appear to be already prepared with bacon. I've experienced this in similar mountain restaurants, except that you were usually able to improvise something without meat without any problem. Not so in “Nussbüel”: it quickly becomes clear that there is no willingness to do this. A few days later I complained via email in the correct manner, but to date (a week later) I have not received a response - incredibly unprofessional. I can't accept this "it's best the way it's always been" attitude.
