Great food and very nice service

The food was great & the staff was nice. Unfortunately, we had to wait a little long for our food.

Anyone who makes the journey to Salwald will be rewarded! Wonderful food in a lovely restaurant with friendly staff; and also plates/dishes, which are the icing on the cake.

Best restaurant for me in the region. Super tasty meat & best risotto. Valais salad is also great! 👍😍

A visit to the Salwald in Mund is a culinary experience in a class of its own! Despite its somewhat remote location, it is definitely worth the drive. We had the Salwald Tavolata and were thoroughly impressed by the quality and sophistication of the dishes. The service was not only attentive, but also warm, which, together with the cozy atmosphere, created an all-round wonderful evening. A must for anyone who appreciates delicious food in a charming setting!

Everything was great, the food was great, the service was good, lots of umbrellas for shade, a playground for children. There is nothing wrong with the restaurant, we were always satisfied and always enjoy going there.

Every visit is a culinary highlight. We are happy to send our guests to the Salwald restaurant, and every now and then we - the Londres team - enjoy a nice evening with our loved ones. I was there yesterday with a dear friend from "Üsserschwiiz" ;-) and we had such a lovely evening that we completely forgot to take pictures. We were "digitally off-line" - and I think that says it all.

Nice courteous service. The food was very good, but the grilled vegetables at the cordon bleu were, well, very little and didn't taste that good, so 1 star was deducted. Otherwise very recommendable good restaurant. Great view and very nicely decorated inside.

The food in the Saalwald Restaurant is simply fantastic and the Tavolata is an absolute highlight! The selection of different dishes is large and extensive and there is something for every taste. The food is prepared with great attention to detail and you can taste it. The Tavolata is a real treat. There are a variety of appetizers, all of which are delicious. However, I was particularly impressed by the quality of the main courses. The meat was perfectly cooked and the side dishes harmonized perfectly with the respective dishes. The desserts were also a dream and rounded off the menu perfectly. The ambience of the restaurant is also very cozy and inviting. The service is very friendly and attentive and makes you feel completely comfortable. All in all, I can only warmly recommend the food in the Saalwald restaurant, and especially the Tavolata. It's a culinary experience that definitely shouldn't be missed!

Located in Garndios, fine food, friendly service, moderate prices. The journey was 100% worth it.

Simply great. Cozy atmosphere and breathtaking cuisine. The mixed salad was very fresh and beautifully garnished with roasted pistachios and nuts. You simply have to try the cordon bleu. As a dessert, the Coupe Salwald with saffron liqueur and saffron meringues is highly recommended. We are already looking forward to the next pampering moments.

We were able to sit in a great place, nicely laid out, nice service, good wine, great Küvh and the saffron parfait for dessert was great, it was worth the trip, thanks to the whole team.

Always an absolute recommendation in the summer. Enjoy excellent food in the middle of nature. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants and excursion destinations in Upper Valais.

I came from eastern Switzerland for a Mother's Day surprise (meal at the Salwald restaurant). The time required and the elevation gain to the restaurant are definitely worth it. It's a neat little restaurant, which is totally underestimated from the outside. The food is bombastic. Freshly prepared with a lot of passion, innovation and creativity and with a very interesting taste. The service staff is very attentive, friendly and takes great care of the guests. The operations manager/boss is extremely personable and humorous. She puts in a tremendous amount of effort. Unfortunately I was only able to stay for a short time due to business obligations and I hope to come back here soon. Otherwise the operations manager would probably have to bring me the brilliant hamburger to eastern Switzerland =) A walk in the nearby woods is definitely worth it. You can find gentians, orchids and even meet some Valais bipeds =)

The Salwald restaurant is my favorite restaurant in Valais and always worth a visit! The very creative menu with dishes and combinations that cannot be found everywhere is impressive. The eye eats with it and here too the presentation from the starter to the dessert leaves nothing to be desired. The entire restaurant area, outside and inside, tells of the very imaginative streak of the owner and her family, really great! It's an experience to eat here. The location in the middle of uncrowded, quiet nature is fantastic and invites you to linger. Thank you to the whole team for the mindfulness that comes into play everywhere!

Wir waren absolut begeistert von Josi‘s Poulet, zubereitet am originellen Holzgrill, begleitet von fantastisch schmackhaftem Safranrisotto und knusprigen Pommes. Und dies in solch herrlicher Umgebung!

Fantastische Aussicht bis an die Gipfelkette des Simplonpass, das Nanztal mit Fletschhorn, sowie das Weiss- und Bishorn mit Gipfel des Matterhornes. Sauberes, gemütliches Ambiente, fantastische Küche mit selbst hergestellten lokalen Produkten.

Servis und Essen waren wunderbar 🥰👍Weiter empfohlen.

Das gemütliche rustikale Ambiente lädt zum Verweilen ein. Nur schon die Aussicht von der Sonnenterrasse ist ein Besuch wert. Von der Vorspeise (Sunis Safranknusperli, 2 hausgemachte Frühlingsrollen mit gemischtem Salat) über den Hauptgang (Cordon Bleu Roulade, gefüllt mit Tomatenfrischkäse, Hamma und Raclettekäse) bis zum Dessert (Zimtparfait mit Apfelküchlein) war alles auf hohem Niveau (1600 M.ü.M.) frisch, schmackhaft und sehr lecker. Alle Getränke und Speisen wurden durch die freundliche Bedienung ohne langes Warten dem Gast serviert. Preis/Leistungsverhältnis Note 5.5 (sehr gut)

Unsere Familie durfte an einem wunderschönen Herbstabend in der gutbesuchten, gemütlichen Gaststube eine herrliche Tavolata geniessen. Vier Vorspeisen, drei Hauptspeisen mit Beilagen sowie die Desserts wurden auf Platten serviert, sodass jedes von uns sich selber bedienen konnte. Sowohl das Aussehen als auch die Zubereitung der Speisen überzeugten in jeder Hinsicht. Einziger Kritikpunkt könnte die Grösse der Portionen sein, die uns dazu verleitete, uns zu überessen. Vom Servicepersonal wurden wir aufmerksam verwöhnt und als Abschluss wurde allen Gästen ein hausgemachter Kräuterlikör offeriert. Wir werden bestimmt wiederkommen...

Wir waren einmal mehr mit Freunden zum Nachtessen im Salwald. Das Restaurant ist ein „sicherer“ Wert: tolle Aussicht auf 1‘600 m, schönes Ambiente, feines Essen und kompetente Bedienung. Wir waren sicher nicht zum letzten Mal dort!
