I had ordered a cheese platter - there was a whole piece of cheese and unfortunately the bread was anything but fresh. In my opinion this is a no go.

Nice restaurant in a great location at about 1100m, sun terrace with a panorama of the mountain range. We were in the Säli as a group, the 4-course menu was excellent, there were supplies without being asked and the service was prompt and super friendly.

The restaurant was very busy when we visited, but the atmosphere seemed relaxed and we were served very quickly and in a very friendly manner. The menu is clear and is supplemented by an additional menu with changing dishes. We chose the recommended guinea fowl in morel sauce with croquettes and a colorful vegetable garnish. Perfectly cooked, delicately seasoned, we can definitely recommend this dish. Anyone looking for regional, seasonal dishes with warm and authentic service is in good hands at St. Anton.

I've been there once before and was quite satisfied, the food came quickly and everything was fine. I had reserved a table a few days ago, but had to cancel it today due to the weather (fog). After we clarified that the reservation should be cancelled, the gentleman simply hung up while I wished him a nice day. No “goodbye” no “thank you too” nothing.

The food is traditionally good. Service staff not very customer friendly! I had the impression that I was glad we left.

It would be so great after a nice walk, but when there is "fog below, sun above" then this restaurant is packed inside and outside at lunchtime - like today on a Tuesday! i.e. if you're lucky there's room...

Sönd Welcome is the motto... Was there again after several disappointed visits. You should give yourself another chance. The staff is very unfriendly (still is). Even the smallest customer requests are not taken into account (# there is only that, as described on the menu. We don't change anything... that says everything about the stubbornness and unfriendliness). This is a good way to interact with the guests when they are just there... you don't have to make any effort, because the view already attracts people and there are enough of them. And there's still the difference whether you're a "local" or "knowledgeable" or "an Oberegger" or simply a stupid tourist who can take money out of his pocket.

Totally lousy store, the service is totally unfriendly, not helpful at all and really rude to the customers. Food allergies are not taken into account at all and are simply placed on the plate anyway. By the way, talking to the boss doesn't help either, his opinion is that eat what's on the table or leave... In addition, it is hardly possible to eat without eating a fly, there are hundreds of them buzzing around, totally unhygienic and disgusting. In any case, that was the last time I was there😡

Always my pleasure. Simple food - well prepared, friendly and efficient service - occasionally the chef comes out to greet the guests. I was once lucky that a musician played the hand organ. That was a special experience and will leave the place in good memory. :)

Traditional Swiss restaurant in an extraordinary location Splendid views of the Rhine valley, on-site parking. Friendly staff, yet sometimes it takes a while until someone shows up to take orders. Food is typically Swiss, simple yet very tasty. I’d recommend the cheese platter (Very intense Appenzell cheese) and the „Flädlesuppe“, a salty broth with stripes of crêpe.

The restaurant lives from the location (view) but also from the good food. Unfortunately, the restaurant was fully booked when we visited and the weather was fantastic. Nevertheless, the service is very quick, even the patron's children helped and the boss allowed himself a short victory lap. The prices......are just in Switzerland. I just think the wine is expensive. Beer, must 6 SFr.

The restaurant looks rustic but is extremely modern. It can be converted into a huge hall upon request. The food suits the Appenzellerland. As do the staff. A visit is worth it and the view is unique.

The St. Anton restaurant offers good home-style cuisine. The dishes are served on a hot plate and the chef greets his guests personally. When the weather is nice you have a wonderful view over the Rhine Valley. The meatloaf with mashed potatoes and the schnitzel with fries are highly recommended.

The food and dessert were very good. The service could make you feel a little more that you are warmly welcomed. I felt like I was just being tolerated, even though the restaurant was practically empty in the evening and there was no rush. There were a lot of flies inside that bothered me personally, flying around your head and onto your food. Unfortunately, the comfort is a bit lacking for me.
