We made reservations as a group to eat game on Saturday and were unfortunately disappointed because the game menu had turned into a butcher's menu. A small, limited range of game dishes were available and were communicated verbally without any price being given. Most people then decided on Metzgete. My partner and I chose Hirsch. He was very fine. Unfortunately without any special ingredients. Even the aforementioned apple slices were missing. The service was satisfactory despite the well-filled dining room. The price-performance ratio was right for us.

I'm very disappointed with the butcher shop! Unfortunately, the sausages were too dry and the side dishes of sauerkraut and dried beans were inedible!!!

Really a cool location, the young service staff does a great job. They are super friendly, they don't wait until you call them, they come every now and then to ask if everything is OK. The food was great. You can feel that the Habdwerk, whether service or kitchen, is very well trained. I would love to come back. Top

The food was very good and the service was friendly. Price performance is right. Quite a lot of noise on the terrace with an open winter garden. However, the terrace was fully occupied, which confirms the good quality.

Very good cuisine with friendly, competent service. Location excellent with indoor & outdoor areas. Located on the edge of the forest and ideal for a digestive walk (1000 meter wall).

My favorite restaurant. Particularly recommended: veal liver with röschti or the miter sleigh (super tender meat served on a hot stone with various side dishes). The service is extremely friendly and the view from the weather-protected, sunny terrace is peaceful and beautiful. Reservation recommended. If you like to wait an hour for your food, it's great. It wasn't like that the first time. We'll think twice about going again and putting up with such a long wait at these prices.

The food quality is excellent. The same applies to the service. Very attentive and friendly. Price/performance is also absolutely fine. Unfortunately, as in most places in the Aarau area, there is only Feldschlösschen that offers something similar to beer.

The apprentice meal should be accompanied. A survey among the guests would be important. We had to wait an hour for the main course after we had already had salad and soup. When asked, it took another 20 minutes. Afterwards, despite this glitch, not even a coffee was offered. We paid at least 170 Fr for 2 people.

We had a table in the "Jura"ngerie, it was great, I can warmly recommend it, you have to experience it, unfortunately it is limited until the end of March

Basically a good restaurant. I think it's a shame that, despite being stated when making the reservation, nothing balanced vegan was planned and unfortunately none of the only two vegetarian menus were chosen either because all the vegetables were already prepared. I think it would be good if a renowned and well-known restaurant perhaps had the option of a vegan menu or a larger selection of vegetarian menus.

The service was great. Very attentive, friendly and in a good mood. There would be 5 stars for that. We are very disappointed with the food and especially in terms of value for money. We chose the pork cordon bleu. Fr. 32.50 is a proud announcement. When a plate comes with a few fries and a small piece (it tasted good) it is very disappointing. The other prices are also very high. Our very small green starter salad 9.50 as an example! In our opinion 20% overpriced. Remember, we are not in the city of Zurich or Lucerne on the lake. We won't come anymore.

We pre-ordered one tomorrow, unfortunately the number of people wasn't recorded correctly...but everything else went well.

We went to the Thai special on the terrace. The food was good and the staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately it is very warm on the terrace under the sun protection and the heat had built up a lot.

The veal livers and hash browns were the best I've ever tasted. A big compliment to the kitchen. Service was very attentive and nice. Always my pleasure.

Was there for the first time recently. When the weather is nice you can sit outside and still have a beautiful view. We ordered dessert, ice cream cafe and coupe Denmark. Were very tasty. I can't say much about the other food on the menu because it hasn't been tested. But it looked delicious and smelled good. Staff super friendly and attentive.

Despite some unfortunate, last-minute changes on our part due to cancellations by guests and requests for changes from the children, we were always served in a friendly manner and were able to enjoy a very tasty feast! The restaurant offers a wonderful stay from A to Z. Although it is very rural, the drive is worth it for the beautiful views. Even for people with a certificate, the stay is pleasant, as warmth is also provided outside. The food is delicious. The portion size is structured so that you get full but don't leave any large leftovers, which I personally appreciate. The price is very fair for what you get. The staff super friendly. We'll be back and are excited about the other menus😉

The terrace is beautifully prepared and cozy even for the colder season. The food was very good, we had game and can highly recommend it. At the entrance there is a (new) beautiful ramp that allows barrier-free access.

The Waldhaus Gehren is beautifully secluded on the edge of the village near the forest. It has a bright outdoor terrace which is covered. In windy weather you are even protected by a partition. Right next to the terrace there is a climbing playground with a slide. The food is seasonal and you still have different options for eating a variety of things. Price/performance is tip top! The service is good. One time they were very busy and forgot to bring the wine list. We were almost finished when the lady came over. However, they offered us the coffees and apologized, which we really appreciated. It has enough parking spaces. However, you should make reservations to eat on the weekend.
