We had the game menu Hubertus. The quality was excellent throughout, but the quantity was very poor. Starting with the salad for 19.- (which has space for 5 forks) to the venison schnitzel, which was also lean (I had three tiny pieces of meat weighing <100g). The vegetables consisted of a small handful of red cabbage and a few Brussels sprouts. The plate was 50% empty. You could reorder everything except the meat, but that took forever. We were still in the restaurant at 1500 because everything took so long. A pity. It was our first and last time! Price/performance is definitely not right!

We have been to Jäger several times and always feel at home. The landlady is extremely hospitable and competent. The service is also excellent, very attentive and, above all, child-friendly. The food is excellent. The meat dishes are particularly recommended. Fried to perfection, of the best quality. We'd love to come back, especially because everything at Jäger is still cooked in-house and the products come from the region.

Wir haben zu dritt in der heimeligen Gaststube das Mittagessen eingenommen. Die Entscheidung, etwas aus der Wildkarte zu wählen war genau richtig. Der Rehpfeffer wurde mit Knöpfli, Rotkohl, karamellisierten Kastanien, einer Büschelibirne und Pilzen serviert. Alles war ausgezeichnet. Im Jäger muss man einfach Wild essen. Nomen est Omen!

Wir hatten am 17.11.18 das Vergnügen im Restaurant Jäger Wild zu essen. Hervorragendes Essen, auf den Punkt gegart, Beilagen frisch und sehr gut! Bedienung hervorragend! Kunde steht im Vordergrund und Wein sehr gut! Immer wieder einen Besuch wert! Wir kommen gerne wieder. Bravo und weiter so!

Ce joli restaurant au cœur du petit village d'Ulmiz mérite que l'on s'y arrête : l'accueil et le service sont impeccables, la patronne très sympa, joviale et avenante. Un excellent rapport/qualité-prix, nous avons bien apprécié la terrine puis la selle de chevreuil en deux services avec des assiettes bien chaudes : ce fut excellent du début à la fin. Nous y retournerons avec grand plaisir.

Dans ce petit village non loin de Berne, se cache un restaurant où l'on vous accueille avec le sourire, de la compétence et du savoir-faire. La patronne parle très bien le français et vous fait sentir comme à la maison. La chasse est la spécialité du lieu, elle est excellente, bien servie avec une garniture complète (fruits, choux de Bruxelles, poires à botzi, pommes et gelée, choux rouge, marrons, champignons, lardons etc. Tout est excellent et à des prix raisonnables. Ich ware am Sonntagmittag mit zwei Begleitpersonen in diesem Restaurant essen. Das Essen (zweimal Paniertes Schnitzel mit Pommes Frites und einmal Rehpfeffer) war sehr gut und auch die Bedienung war freundlich und aufmerksam. Minuspunkte: 1. Beim Rehpfeffer waren einzelne Stücke (wenige!) etwas zäh2. Die Pommes waren nicht oder nur qenig gesalzen (konnte man aber selber beheben)

Nach einer Schliessung und einem Besitzerwechsel ist "Zum Jäger" daran, sich wieder aufzurappeln. So gab es an unseren Hauptgängen (zweimal Rinds-Entrecôte, einmal Lamm) wenig auszusetzen. Das Rind war genau nach Vorgabe der Gäste gebraten (einmal saignant, einmal à point), und auch die Gemüsebeilagen waren ok. Es ist keine Gourmet-Küche, die hier geboten wird, sondern reelle ländliche Kost, die exakt zur Umgebung passt. Die zwei Wirtsstuben sind rustikal- gemütlich, jedoch mit ein paar Tricks aufgehellt worden, so dass sie nicht mehr so düster wirken. Und noch etwas: Die Patronne, die zwei Jahrzehnte in England verbracht hat, ist von erfrischender Freundlichkeit.
