There were 7 of us eating game and it was really nice, service was also good. At first it was said that there wasn't enough venison jerky for 7 people. Later you said that there was. Ok, we ordered, but then came the disappointment.... We paid 64. Fr per person and got very little for meat. Too bad! That was the reason for the 2 star rating. The meat was enough for 5 and then they don't sell it fairly for 7 people….

We went to eat Wild, we paid for the most expensive dish, there was almost no meat. We pay a lot to eat fruit and vegetables.

Beautifully located inn on the lake with a wonderful garden restaurant/lounge. Update Oct '23: We were here to eat game and the saddle of venison (for 2 people, in 2 courses) was excellent. Excellent meat quality and well-prepared and varied game side dishes

Today I was with my pearl in the inn at the town hall. The friendly Mr. Schüpbach found a table for us on the first floor even without a reservation. We each chose a salad bowl with chicken strips and egg and parmesan cheese shavings, which were quickly prepared by the competent kitchen crew. We really liked her. We are already looking forward to our next visit to this hospitable house.

Since it was very busy, the service was a bit overloaded on this wonderful autumn day. Price/performance tip top. Tartar bruschetta, avocado wrap, sausage and cheese salad all very good! I can recommend it.

There were three of us and we wanted a coup meal. Firstly, we were taken from one table to the other. When we sat down, instead of the staff cleaning the table, they came with sets and cutlery. We would like a coup because we were answered that we need this table for people who eat, and wanted to give us another table again🙈🙈that can't happen like that, we left again and will never come back. It's a shame these days

This place used to be a gem but since the manager left, its terrible. The food is bad, the service is slow and slopy, the manager is terrible. This was THE nicest place to be and now the only thing left they have is the location. Do not eat there, its terrible!

The lunch menus are average. The main courses are sometimes very small so that you don't really get full, unfortunately (and at that price it's a lot). When it comes to service, it's partly a matter of luck. Had from great service to not so optimal service. Loaction super nice.

The food was very good, as was the service. However, the main course is way too small. Had the pulpo salad as a main course and it was as small as a small salad. Had to order a lot of bread and eat a lot of it to fill myself up. I had a starter beforehand, but it still wasn't enough. For me, not being full with a starter and main course is the worst signal from a restaurant. Of course we reported this to service, but it didn't matter. What a shame, it would be a nice restaurant with a wonderful ambience. I'm extremely disappointed and that's why there's only 1 star.

Great house, great name...but A few things to improve: Place settings for a 1st class house may be white...at least. a whole tablecloth (whole table presentation was not "classy") Bread: 3 pieces in a large bread basket (2 pieces of white bread 1 something darker). Poor selection, freshness of the bread bordering on rubbery. No butter, no special. Spread for people who don't like olive oil on bread. Fish order: unfortunately no more sea bass (although it is on the menu as a main course). Starter: Ravioli with burrata. Industrial pasta bathing in a lake. Loveless presentation of the burrata and tomatoes. Main course Zurich-style sliced ​​meat with Rösti. Unfortunately, so did everything, including the rösti floating in the brown cream sauce So the crispiness quickly disappears...meat quality ok, not great. Add salt to the rosti. When we arrived at the registered aperitif after a civil wedding, we had to arrange our own seating, even though we had pre-ordered it. No reception in the sense of good gastronomy. Slow service to Apero. No greeting in the sense of a civil wedding. The food afterwards was mediocre, extremely long waiting times and the price-performance ratio was below average. Our service employee was very committed and friendly. Thanks! All in all, we definitely do not recommend this location. It's a shame for this beautiful location

Great food good service will come again

We were in the restaurant on the terrace on Saturday evening and ate the fish in the salt crust. We were really excited. Excellent taste and extremely tender. Just wonderful. Service and ambience very good. We'd love to come back.

Our aperitif for our son's wedding with 70 people and a performance by S'rindlisbachers in the garden of the wonderfully located Gasthaus Rathaus was awesome. Friendly, attentive, helpful and the “Häppli” served were very tasty and beautifully presented. We'd love to come back,👌😘😂❤️Thank you very much

We have been coming to the rathaus for many years... everything is always excellent but today it really wasn't!!! We reserved as always. When we arrived the staff were very busy arguing with each other... which really annoyed us... we weren't really interested!!! We had to wait 20 minutes before being noticed.. the dishes are always excellent.. I find it a shame that the customer has to wait all this time without being considered.. at least ask if we wanted water or not!!! and having to listen to the staff's problems OUT LOUD.. or not!!! too bad..

My colleagues and I went to the "Gasthaus Zum Rathaus" for dinner after work. I liked the great location. Eating outside in summer with a stunning view of the lake of Zurich and beautiful sunset is almost priceless. The whole set-up perfectly fits a romantic dinner and a stylish evening. Here's the experience in short: Atmosphere & Place 7 ½: the restaurant is close to the train station, you could walk there. It is located in a group of old Swiss-style houses by the lake. On top of that, there is plenty of parking. Good furniture quality and the restrooms are accessible to everyone. I didn't find the hand sanitiser, though. Menu 6: I opted for the Pata Negra sliced steak. I didn't read the menu carefully, and I was surprised when I received my plate because the meat was leaning over on a risotto scoop. According to my taste, this is not a great idea. The Pata Negra was delicious, but with some patience, I separated it from the rice. The wine list is worth a mention. Of course, we are in Switzerland, and the prices are crazy, but the selection is very well done. Service 8: The staff speaks good English and can help you with the menu. Having a clear conversation with the staff is not granted in this area, so well done! Bill 7: Prices are on average in the Zurich lake area. The places around here are costly.

5 stars for their professionalism! We order some tartars medium spicyness and we were served flaming hot tartars. The server apologised and took it back to the kitchen. Came back 2 minutes later saying the chef had tried it and indeed it was too spicy. They changed it for a new one. A restaurant that is ready to accept fault is a good restaurant. More restaurant should be like them instead of blaming the customer! Also the rest of the food was really good.

Yesterday evening, on the tip of a friend, we visited this inn, which was beautiful both inside and out. We were greeted very friendly by the service man in blue and, since we were a little early, we wanted to have an aperitif outside. My girlfriend ordered a cocktail and I ordered gin "without" tonic on ice. The order was quickly served by another colleague. I saw an opened tonic find its way onto the service tray. No problem, I'll drink this, I thought to myself. But when my colleague started pouring tonic, I was shocked and said stop! Without any discussion I was immediately given a new gin, without tonic. This gesture and the drinks were great, what was less great was how the colleague in white pointed out to the service man in blue in front of our eyes and ears that he had made a mistake. We were soon able to order three starters and two main courses. But we quickly realized that the service had to work extremely quickly so that all guests could be satisfied. We wondered until the end whether this restaurant could or would not employ more service staff. Anyway, the kitchen did a fantastic job, the food was great! Serviceman in blue jumped back and forth and always stayed cool. Unfortunately, my colleague in white wasn't traveling so quickly. The main course was eaten at 9:20 p.m. and my colleague in white cleared a table next to us 10 minutes later. Instead of serving us, he sent service men in blue to the front for everything and walked back and forth between the kitchen and the bar himself. At 9:50 p.m., my colleague in white informed the serviceman in blue that we had finished eating. He came to the table and asked in a friendly manner whether everything had been to the best of our satisfaction, which we were able to answer in the affirmative. We were now able to order four fine desserts, which were served at 10:30 p.m. Conclusion: far too much work for 2 service employees! Man in blue, Nino did an absolute killer job! The colleague in white was friendly, but could work much more attentively and quickly and problems are not resolved with the guest, but in private! Da Nino, ambience and food were first class 5 stars. We will recommend this restaurant, but at the same time we hope and wish that more staff will be found and/or hired!

In times where service should be the be-all and end-all, the owner has saved on the wrong end - on staff. Equipping a full terrace with 2 service employees on a Sunday is almost questionable. In 1.5 hours we managed to have a drink, the motivation for a second drink decreased with every minute of waiting coupled with almost begging. It is a logical consequence that the few staff who were completely overstretched can hardly maintain this service. Anyone who saves costs through personnel at this location is neither doing the employees nor the customers any good, and ultimately not doing themselves any good at some point.

Last Saturday we ate in the upper part and then smoked a cigar in the lower part. Upper floor - service top! The refill took a while - but the restaurant was full. That's ok for us. The fact that we then had the feeling on the lower floor (smoking lounge) that we were either not there or that we were more of a nuisance left us a little unsettled. We felt like the waitress was in a really bad mood and “didn’t feel like” serving customers. Considering the bill was over CHF 500, we would have expected better treatment. The fact that we then had to look for the jackets that were taken from us at the beginning and go upstairs ourselves was a fitting end to the evening... What a shame...

Great experience over lunch with a friend. Close to the train station, could walk there. Located in a group of old houses close to the lake, it is offset from Pfäffikon itself. Plenty of parking. The food and service are good. We usually had a bit of bad luck with the smoker lounge, which is at the entrance and adjoins the terrace. Last year the waitress (she was about to take her final exam) tore everything out again. She was really great. This time it was just OK. Some of the service staff kept running through the smoker lounge onto the terrace. As a result, we were always affected by the cold and strong smoke, as our table was right next to the patio door.

Als Vegi gestaltet es sich manchmal schwierig, ein Restaurant zu finden das einem ein vollwertiges Essen bietet und nicht nur eine Notlösung. Nicht so hier: Essen und Service waren super. Wir kommen sicher wieder.
