A good, quite sophisticated restaurant where we ate well 🍽️

Charming restaurant in a charming village, Morcote. We were seated upon arrival without reservation outside on the wooden dock directly over Lake Lugano. The restaurant always seemed busy but rightfully so with its picturesque location and high quality food. We opted for the mixed salad, bone marrow risotto and the Zander fish (with potato purée and zucchini). What I liked about this place was that the seasoning was not overdone or over salted. This allowed all the natural favors and oils to complement each other and I was left completely satisfied and happy (and not overly full). A bit on the pricier end but you get higher quality ingredients and dishes beautifully plated. Our food did take sometime after ordering and we weren’t sure why (maybe 30-45 min of waiting). All in all, a great experience!

Restaurant of great class and charm with a rich and exclusive choice of dishes prepared with great care and accompanied by an equal choice of excellent wines. Welcoming environment and furnishings illuminated by a pleasant warm light. Excellent and particularly well prepared food.

Very nicely located right on the lake. The service was very professional. The food came very nicely prepared and tasted okay to good.

We did not have the opportunity to eat because we went to the restaurant 15 minutes before it opened in the evening and they did not let us in and it was a very rude behavior even though it was cold and we were young children.

If you want to eat in a context where you will be welcomed with kindness and professionalism, in the name of fresh, refined and simple food at the same time, you are in the right place. Exceptional tuna tartare and catch of the day.

Great address. Wonderful ambience, seating right by the lake. Very attentive staff, great service. Excellent food! Among other things, we had the Chateaubriand - one of the best I've ever eaten. Very good selection. Great for gluten-free people, everything is taken into consideration there, the staff knows their stuff. Even have gluten-free rolls. Any time!

We had lunch on our wedding day with great pleasure in a magnificent place, managed with perfect professionalism and competence, in a special summer location, all to remember. Menu proposed by chef Mr. Suter with excellent white wine paired, definitely to be recommended: targeted choices, high culinary level and quality service. ALL dishes served with great passion and then perfect-harmonious flavours😊absolutely to be recommended. Congratulations and thanks to everyone and see you next time!

Lovely location, friendly staff, quality cuisine

Beautiful restaurant with very good food. Me and my husband ate here this evening with a great view of the lake. The food was very, very tasty and I can only recommend it.

After a beautiful sunny day at Lake Lugano, my girlfriend and I wanted to end the evening with a delicious meal. The Ristorante della Torre was a coincidence, but above all a stroke of luck! The terrace by or on the lake caught our eye straight away. The service was A1. The waiters were very friendly and not too intrusive. The food was beautifully prepared and tasted simply fantastic. The selection wasn't huge, but it was still varied and that's what makes a good restaurant. (Vegetarian or vegan dishes also available) The price-performance ratio was okay for this quality and for Switzerland. For a nice dinner for 2 by the lake, the right choice!!

Updated Review July 2023. This is our 3rd visit to this restaurant. Every visit to morcote cannot be without dining here. We visited this restaurant again yesterday and a lot has changed! Surprisingly what was great got even greater! 🤩 The restaurant has now pivoted to fine dining. We had a tasting menu and it was the most delicious Italian meal of our summer vacation. Bear in mind we have been across italy and everything was delicious but this topped it all off. So that is truly saying something. We started with amuse bouche, then a starter of fresh tuna followed by the most delicious wild rice risotto I've ever had in my life. I am generally not a fan of risotto but I could have eaten it the whole day through. The main is succulent lamb followed by dessert of fruity berries Panna cotta. Full 10 out of 10 marks from me. Service is also excellent with special attention by servers across all tables. Let's not forget about the romantic view of lake maggiore. This is a fantastic date night restaurant for sure. The only thing that is annoying is that my husband left the pasta and sauces he bought from a shop in the restroom. Mamma mia. But that's got nothing to do with the restaurant of course lol. Anyho, we will drop by again when we are in morcote. --- This is a truly amazing restaurant in a truly beautiful location. We had such delicious food and not to mention the server was such a professional and very attentive and warm. Can't wait to come back when we visit morcote in November :)

We were in the restaurant years ago and even today we felt noticed, we were looked after, we felt like "very much a guest" the kitchen and the service were excellent so we will definitely come back again to the lovely atmosphere, thank you .

Refined restaurant with a splendid outdoor area overlooking the lake. Very attentive and professional service. The menu offers dishes influenced by Italian gastronomic culture, with some attention to the needs of vegans and vegetarians. It is undoubtedly worth a stop if you are passing through Morcote.

An excellent restaurant. Gorgeous outdoor seating and lovely interior, right on the lake. All the food was fantastic, from start to finish. We had a complete meal: starter, first course, second course, dessert, coffee, coffee killer. Generous portions and well presented. Highly recommended!

Seating by the lake is great even when it's not too warm. The food was great, especially tuna and risotto. Very friendly and quick service, great place.

Relaxing and prestigious location. I wanted the table in the cellar, which in my opinion is very pretty. Excellent cuisine, with a choice of wines, highly trained staff. You finish the ordered dish with difficulty but you can't help but order the dessert. The owner is always friendly. Beautiful evening spent with a wonderful friend.

Ordered tagliatelle with fondue and porcini mushrooms. Little fondue, bland porcini mushrooms and tagliatelle that are difficult to twist because they are poorly seasoned. Ordered Tarte Tatin. Baked and spiced apple with crumbled biscuit and caramel ice cream. Definitely light years away from a real Tarte Tatin. Comfortable and pleasant restaurant.

We were here on a Monday evening at the beginning of November and had a very good meal. Nice service, nice decor. We didn't eat pizza, but other delicious things from the menu - everything was great. Prices at Swiss level.

The team was very pleasant and the dishes ordered were delicious. I recommend with your eyes closed. On the other hand, there were no pizzas on the menu but that would have been a shame because we would have missed out on their dishes.

A restaurant with many specialities. Take a look at the collection of grappas etc. and enjoy the relaxed spirit to the sound of small waves and happy ducks on the terasse which is located on the Lugano lake. Very flexible and helpful staff with the right touch of humor

Had a wonderful and excellent evening. Great staff and delicious food. Also, (very) vegan friendly! The waiter was very familiar with it, and the kitchen had lovely vegan options. They even provided me with a vegan appetizer. The atmosphere is friendly, charming and peaceful, with excellent price/quality ratio. When in or close to Morcote, a place to visit!

So scenic! Sitting on the patio overlooking the lake was such a special way to start our first day in Switzerland. The food was truly lovely and they had several vegan options. We had the vegan pizza and the vegan burger, both were delicious with the burger being the better choice. The service is absolutely lovely and it just feels like a dream to have lunch here on the perfect summer day.

It was ok. I don't understand why you have to add sepia ink to the pizza dough. Is that perhaps why the high price comes from? It's better to leave it out and not sell the pizza for 32CHF.

The food is wonderful, the staff courteous and friendly

The food is delicious, especially the fish. Great selection of wines and local beers. The view and outside terrace are fantastic, there is a fan for warm weather and a heater for cold weather. Good service and no need to worry about speaking English. One of the busiest restaurants in Morcote. Parking nearby is available, so you can also visit the village after your meal.

The location of the restaurant was nice. The staff was alright I guess, but didn't really know much about basic service rules (they started clearing the table when I was still eating and I had to wait for a full twelve minutes after everyone else at my table was served to receive my pizza). Also the vegan pizza was really not that great (You could try to just make pizza without the cheese and put olive oil for fat on top for example). The other pizzas were also really weird since the tomato sauce was on top of the cheese and they only put about two tablespoons of sauce. We weren't satisfied and were really displeased given these reasons. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. Especially because it's way too expensive for what you get.

Overall I am very sad that this restaurant wasn’t as good as I expected it to be. especially because I think that it is so important for a public place to take the criticism and maybe even be happy about the criticism because they can improve themselves and be better in the future. But reading the responses really is depressing and seeing how they even attack the people that payed them. Of course someone’s getting mad if they pay really more than enough money and get the bare minimum in quality. I understand that working and especially owning such a business can be challenging but this really is on another level of disrespect. The food really wasn‘t good and the employees really seemed to be annoyed by us which also is really depressing, sitting in a restaurant and feeling unwelcome. I hope that they get their mistake now and I won’t get an answer about how immature I am and how it‘s my fault when it’s definitely not. Be happy about your clients paying your salary. I really would love to give a positive feedback but it’s really not possible to say anything nice but that the location was nice.

To be fair, the food didnt taste good. The pizza had almost no sauce on it and the cheese tasted terrible. I felt sick after. The staff was really annoyed and I felt bad for basically just asking about the pizza. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

I was on the evening of 7/9/2021 at the Torre Restaurant in Morcote, on a beautiful and highly decorated raft. There is everything, first courses mushroom risotto, tagliatelle with mushrooms, lobster linguine, Chateaubriand second courses and pizzas, up to desserts of tiramisu and sorbets. Very friendly, fast and helpful staff. The environment is perfect, we didn't know where to go and in the end we found this beautiful place. I was very satisfied and will return soon!

We stopped for an afternoon aperitif, we drank 2 white Merlots and had a platter of cheeses and cured meats. Excellent quality, friendly waiters, good service. We'll stop by for dinner. Thank you

The staff was really friendly. The location is quite nice! The pizza unfortunately was rather salty and dry. It tasted ok, the charcoal dough is a great idea, but the whole thing didn't feel worth the price. More expensive than a much better pizza in Zurich.

Let me start by saying I have never reviewed a restaurant on Google before, but this place made it absolutely necessary. I had the best meal of my life here, three days in a row! We wandered in on a Friday night and were greeted by the incredibly friendly staff, seated at a cozy table, and ended up ordering the black spaghetti with shrimp and the ossobuco, which were both to DIE for (I also loved the zabaglione for dessert, which I had never had before). As we were leaving, we immediately made a reservation for the following night (glad we did, because their book was already nearly full). The next night we ordered the baccalà, cacao risotto, lamb shank, and tarte-tatin, and again we were blown away by the food - how does this place not have a Michelin star already? On our last day in Morcote we couldn’t resist coming back for one more lunch; pizza with shrimp and asparagus cream, fresh gnocchi with asparagus (both seasonal), tagliatelle with venison ragu and blue cheese, and the wine-infused pear. I cannot stress enough how wonderful this experience was, from the atmosphere to the wine to the service, not to mention the outstanding food. I can’t wait to visit Ticino again and come straight back here - make a reservation now before the word gets out!

We were very disappointed. We wanted to eat on the terrace but they didn't turn on the heat lights even though the food was so expensive. When a family requested this, the innkeeper did so. He was annoyed. It's a shame, customer friendliness is expected for this price.

We actually stopped here because of the terrace. The greeting by the waiter, who first walked past us twice without the slightest interest, was a bit strange. The terrace was busy but there was no great stress so in this case we could show a little more sympathy and professionalism. We were hungry so we stayed. I ordered a Margherita pizza, which was DELICIOUS! 😋 it's finger-licking good. My partner ordered lasagna and he also liked it very much. Chardonnay and local beer were also tasty. To sum up everything, I give it three stars only because of the service, which was really not nice and didn't pay attention to us🤷‍♀️ which is a pity because the rest was really bad.
