Place that I frequent about once a month. Suffers from high prices but the quality is rather present despite a certain decline in this area. The diameter of pizzas 🍕 is shrinking with the passage of time...even if the price has increased by 2 to 3 francs in one year. The service is very friendly but at midday (this is the 3rd time to follow) it is quite slow. We had to take the coffee in one sip.

It is one of the best restaurants in Marly.

A very good surprise! Excellent pizza dough! Dynamic service! A nice choice of pizza but not just pizzas, a great address, I recommend without hesitation.

Unfortunately the map is not up to date and when we place an order we are informed that our choice is not available during the hunting season... or the entry is temporarily no longer available. This can happen but we inform customers in advance. It is better to eat an Italian dish than hunting.

Starter, main course, dessert, wine, everything was top notch!

Here, a simple pasta dish allows you to fully taste the flavors of Italy; with, as a bonus, the friendliness and smile of all the staff. The terrace is pleasant and flowery. We were not inconvenienced by the road, which we barely noticed.

Compliments to the chef!! Finally a real Italian cuisine!!! Not just an Italian restaurant!!! Well done! Not to be missed for foodies!!

Oh little I knew before ordering the 'café glacé' as a dessert. But first things first. La Cena is an Italian restaurant in Marly, a 14 minute bus ride away from Fribourg train station. The first impression after being seated: casual, welcoming, not crowded nor empty, very relaxed atmosphere. Perfect to spend a nice evening. Since it's autumn, I opted for 'la chasse', wild duck to be more precise and fagottini to start. Both dishes were delicious and highly recommended. All of this combined with a bottle of devilish Pinot Noir called Lucifer. But after all the good food there was still this temptation... for that little extra. Tiramisu... or café glacé... hmm tiramisu... maybe.. no, let's keep that for next time. By the way, thanks to the friendly waitress to be so patient while I was going through my lengthy decision process. But hey, café glacé it was... but the little extra turned out to be a very big extra. Oh, generous they are, and struggling I was... but I succeeded in eating it all...mmm. I even found some space left for a limoncello... or two. Overall, a very pleasant experience. So if you're in the neighborhood of Fribourg/Marly and want to have some tasty food in a casual setting: La Cena is definitely worth a visit. Update: Ok, I really had to try the tiramisu. So I went back. Obviously, not just to eat a dessert but also to try another dish. This time I opted for a piece of Pumba (a.k.a. 'sanglier' or a wild - well, not so wild anymore once served on a plate - p|g) and risotto as a starter. As expected, both dishes were really good. Although I personally preferred the wild duck which I had last time. Regardless, I don't think you can make any bad choices when it comes to 'la chasse'. But back to that tiramisu... well, for sure it's less of a challenge compared to the huge café glacé. Even better, I think I need to stop claiming that I don't like tiramisu 'tout court'. The chef of la Cena has proven that I actually do like it... I just wished it had the same size of the café glacé because... it's delicious! Update 14.02.2023: The food at La Cena is consistently good, tasty, original Also for special menus like the one on Valentine’s day. Already looking forward to the next visit.

Pizza on site or to take away at the top. They are really delicious!

Had an excellent bruschetta, followed by the penne aurora (penne with scampi). Well prepared and very tasty. Plus a red wine. Cozy ambiente and also busy. Recommended. Ideal to dine here if you are staying in the adjacent Hotel Grand Pre.

Small and welcoming restaurant in Marly. A find that makes your stay in Marly great. You wouldn't tell it from the outside, but once you go inside you can feel the atmosphere and the smells of Italy. A smiling welcome from Crina and pleasant service with personalized advice. The really delicious holy pizzas (no photo because they were eaten too quickly!!). The pasta is “al dente” and the meat is on point. The desserts are homemade and you can feel the quality in the ingredients. The panna cotta is homemade and delicious. The presentation of the dishes is careful. Pleasant atmosphere and restaurant to visit. Recommended of course!

The products used are of the highest quality and beautifully crafted. The cuisine is excellent and reflects the image and taste of Italy. The wine list offers a very appreciable choice and even the open wines are excellent. The staff are welcoming and attentive.

They recommended this restaurant to us as among the best in the whole canton, and then they understood why. The dishes are of high quality, and upon request they provided us with an excellent wine pairing. Rather low prices for the service offered and for what is around; we will be back as soon as possible! Compliments! Dina

To taste your fear, eat 4 days there 4 evenings that I came home with an unbearable stomach ache that was really not appetizing

Very good, clean, excellent friendly staff, top notch, just the location is a little modest but nothing like advertising to improve it.

Really not good! Once installed, we were told that the cook was ill…but we could eat pizza. Mine, burnt taste, raw mushrooms, salted ham and tomato sauce swimming in water…and there you have it: 23 CHF! Not even a sorry…!!!

This place has been one of my favorites several times. The perfect welcome, the dishes and wines are extraordinary! Italian cuisine is there! Seafood, risotto, meats, homemade Tiramisu....incredible! This evening I had sea bass en papillote...delicious! Many thanks and see you soon!

The service was good but the meal was disgraceful. Barely enough to feed a 4 year old child. The boss should change jobs where the boss should hand over the reins. Thanks to the waitresses, all the same, who are professional and friendly. Unfortunately that's not enough

Not good, the inside of the ravioli is starfoulahhhh powder, the ravioli dough is brick tlm c hard frr and the salad sauce, alala.... it's 10% vinegar and 90% vinegar oil

La Cena is nice, simple, not posh place in Marly. It was possible to get 50% off on the food orders if book a table via TheFork app. The service is very friendly, COVID-cautious. Gnocchi Pesto and gnocchi gratinati (baked) was good but would not say super. The wine was OK.

Très bon accueil. J’ai apprécié l’honnêteté dans la carte pour la pâte à pizza sans gluten (c’est indiqué qu’elle n’est pas « maison »). Les plats sont bons (les raviolis ont été délicieux), bien servi. La terrasse est appréciable. On ressent qu’il y a le respect du client.

Als Stammgäste schätzen wir am Cena, das man hier bei allen Gelegenheit gut essen kann und immer herzlich und kompetent bewirtet wird. Man kann nach der Arbeit schnell eine ausgezeichnete Pizza oder eine Frittura mista essen und ein Bierchen dazu trinken, man kann mit den Kindern die tollen Pastagerichte essen gehen. Oder man kann ein ganzes italienisches Menu essen mit Anklängen aus der gehobener Gastronomie: Auf der diesjährigen Sommerkarte haben wir z. B. das Kalbsbries auf eine Pecorinocrème mit Amaretto-Auberginen genossen, gefolgt von einer sensationellen Meeresgrillplatte auf caramelisierten Peperoni. Egal was man isst: man bekommt eine sorgfältige, von Könnerschaft zeugende Küche mit guten Produkten.

Nous sommes clients depuis des années de la Cena, à chaque fois nous nous régalons de cette cuisine italienne riche et variée.Notre dernière découverte est le risotto porcini est une véritable tuerie le tout accompagné du vin du mois.Les patrons ainsi que tout le Team sont d'une gentillesse et d'une serviabilité exemplaire.À chacune de nos visites nous repartons heureux et rassasié.

Invité par mon épouse dans ce restaurant, j'en ressors bien déçu ! Ma pizza à 24frs quand même, avait le dessous carbonisé et les ingrédient pas cuits. Donc très mauvaise... Mon épouse a mangé un gratin d'aubergines servi dans une grande assiette sans aucune garniture et une petite quantité pour un plat principal. Pendant ce temps le patron prennait des apéros avec des clients au bar. Peut-être on est venu le mauvais soir !Même pas un café d'offert et ni un aurevoir du patron qui faisait santé avec des clients...Je ne retourne plus !

Je suis fan de la cuisine du chef Monsieur Pache et du service aimable de Madame depuis des années. Que ce soit en famille pour le déjeuner, le meilleur plat du jour de Fribourg avec un rapport qualité / prix imbattable ou un souper en amoureux. Cuisine gastro dans un cadre sympathique et prix familial, on y vient, on y revient !

Wer mehr sucht als ein von einem Türken geführter "Italiener" mit hunderten schlechten Gerichten wird hier fündig. Wir assen hausgemachte Ravioli und einen feinen Pulpo à la diavolo begleitet von feinen Gemüsebeilagen. Beides gut gekocht und schön serviert. Die Pizza war hervorragend und der offene Wein bestens. Die Preis-Leistung stimmt voll und ganz und der Service war sympathisch und aufmerksam.

Des très bonnes pizzas à l'emporter sur Marly

Nous sommes arrivés au restaurant avec ma fille de 7 ans et nous avons directement été "parqués" dans la salle famille avec une place de jeu alors que nous aurions préféré choisir notre table. Nous avons ensuite été un peu étonnés de devoir attendre près de 40 minutes avant de recevoir nos pizzas qui étaient de plus trop cuites (pâte dure comme du béton et bords carbonisés). Il en fut de même pour les glaces sur lesquelles nous avons à nouveau attendu trop longtemps. Dommage parce que l'intention à l'air d'être là, mais pas d'effort mis sur le service et sa rapidité. Un peu déçu.

Es ist ein sehr schöner ruhiger Ort mit einem ganz nettem heimgefüll.Und das Essen ist einfach köstlich sie haben auch noch eine reiche Auswahl an Pizza.

Tout est toujours tres bon.Les pizza sont excellentes, sans aucun doutes les meilleures de tout Fribourg, malgré qu elles ne sont pas cuites au feu de bois , là pâtes et les ingrédients sont tellement t bon que ça rattrape tout.

Très bonne cuisine et le personnel est très sympathique. Il y a une salle exprès pour les familles avec une place de jeu intérieur pour les enfants. Les enfants sont servis avant les parents se qui très appréciable comme ça quand ils ont fini de manger hop à la place de jeu et les adultes sont tranquille pour manger après. Les pizzas sont vraiment très bonne et nous aimons vraiment les prendre à l emporter. Prête rapidement ce qui est très appréciable.

Au départ ce restaurant nous a fait une très bonne impression: cadre annonçant la note 13 au Gault & Millau, salle de jeux pour enfants, carte appétissante. Le risotto à la meule de parmesan était très bon, toutefois la portion relativement petite. La pizza sans gluten de mon mari difficilement mangeable. Il parait pourtant que les pizza traditionnelles sont excellentes dans ce restaurant, dommage de ne pas savoir répliquer cela pour les personnes intolérantes au gluten...Notre déception fut à son paroxysme à la lecture de l'addition: la carafe d'eau facturée à 5.-! Je trouve cela inadmissible de devoir payer pour de l'eau du robinet! Surtout que cela ne nous a été nullement annoncé et n'est pas mentionné sur la carte. A trop vouloir faire de l'argent, on perd des clients... Nous n'y retournerons pas et avons terminé notre repas sur une note bien amère.

Fuimos a este restaurante porque justo estaba delante de nuestro hotel y nos pareció muy buena idea cenar sin movernos mucho. Pedimos pizza siciliana y pollo con ensalada. Elegí un vino toino suizo, Lucifer red 2016 (26fr). En total nos costó todo 767,70Fr. Nivel Suizo. Lo mejor: el vino

Le restaurant en lui-même est très lumineux et agréable. Le personnel, également sympathique et cordial. La nourriture par contre n’a rien d’exceptionnel. Nous y avions commandé un menu à 19 CHF et avons reçu, entre-autres, 3 tranche de 0.5 mm de rôti qui se courraient après, sans sauce et sans saveur. Franchement peut faire mieux niveaux gustatif et quantité.

On nous a facilement trouvé une table pour 12 personnes. Uniquement pour des consommations, alors que nous n'avions pas reservé !
