Ristorante Olivo in Horgen

Me and a friend wanted coffees, waiters totally disinterested in taking orders. All attempts to make eye contact with the three waiters failed, so tried to raise both arms ("i am drowning" style). Also didn't work. Ended up having to go ask them to come and take ordrrs which they ghen eventually did. Got our coffes eventually. The service was abysmal, but the coffes ok. They did not make us feel welcome at all, more like we disturbed their routines (whatever they could have been).

Extremely bad delivery today. Came way too late. Eat something cold. When I called and asked where my food was, I was told by a restaurant manager. The delivery person has forgotten something and picks it up and brings it. When I wanted to ask something else, he ended the phone during the conversation. When I asked the supplier, he said no, that's not true. Extremely bad manager or restaurant manager. Not recommended for anyone!!!!!!!

Although I've never been to the restaurant myself, I regularly order the Valais burger - and you can tell that it's a burger from a real restaurant and not one from some fast food joint. Price-performance ratio is right for me, the delivery is quick, the food is still warm, and the courier is well placed and friendly. Clear recommendation from me!

We were really very positively surprised by the quality of the food. Both the starters, nut salad with porcini mushrooms and tomato cream soup, as well as the two main courses, fish duo and spaghetti with cozze, were excellent. The fish was fried perfectly and the spaghetti was just right, not too soft and not too al dente. The ambience is nothing special and due to the size of the dining room it is quite loud, but there is enough distance between the tables so that you can still get angry. The service was very attentive and friendly. The prices are very fair.

The pizza we had was very delicious and also the primitivo and tiramisu for desert. The service was quick, helpful and had a good sense of humor. Prices are normal for Switzerland. Overall a well-deserved 5*.

We always enjoy coming to “Olivo” because the price/performance is just right, and we always have a wonderful evening because the subtle live music makes the evening something special. The musician manages to perfectly maintain the volume level so that you can have a good conversation despite the music. The menu is varied, the meat kebabs with different sauces are highly recommended, but the various types of pasta are also excellent, and the pizza was always tasty too. Warm small pizza rolls are served with the salad, extremely tasty. The portions are large, you will definitely be full. The service is always very friendly and attentive. We will 100% come back.

Olivo not only serves delicious food, but also great live music! The atmosphere is really cool - the pianist brings a great atmosphere while the food is simply delicious. The service is really nice and makes the evening complete. Enjoyment and good vibes come together here – definitely a place for beautiful Italian evenings! We will come back.

The Olivio restaurant in Horgen offers a wonderful selection of delicious dishes. The quality of the dishes is outstanding and the service is very attentive. The pleasant atmosphere invites you to a relaxed culinary experience. A great place for connoisseurs. The tiramisu is highly recommended!

I don't know if it's because we ordered via Uber eat. Although we called after ordering to make sure the pizzas were cut, they were delivered uncut. The pizzas tasted good. Unfortunately a bit thin and sparse with cheese and toppings. Update 12/25/2023 Today Olivo helped us with all the stops to decide not to enter the restaurant anymore! From the bad and listless service to the food, everything else was good (out of 5 orders, one was passable!). No questions about drinks, no questions about dessert after dinner. The waiter tries very hard to avoid eye contact so that he won't be bothered with another order!

Good food, fantastic tiramisu. I don't recommend this restaurant because the service from an Indian waiter is arrogant, unprofessional and discriminatory towards the type of customers. On December 7th I went to eat at this restaurant. At the beginning the service from the first waiter was pleasant, from the moment the Indian waiter came to serve us the evening became unpleasant, we asked for a tiramisu at 10:57pm and they told us in an unpleasant way that there wasn't was possible to get it It was because the kitchen was closed at 11pm (after we had enjoyed the starter, the first course, a bottle of wine and an aperitif for two); Seeing our amazement, the waiter came back to us and told us he could do it for us if we wanted. Since it was my birthday, you can understand my dissatisfaction; But it's not the first time I go to this restaurant, and when I'm served by this waiter, I always leave unsatisfied.

Was in the restaurant for dinner in December 2023. We didn't know that piano music was always played towards the end of the week. Since I'm not a fan of constantly listening to music while eating, I was a bit uneasy at first, and we had the table right next to the piano. But what a surprise: the volume was very pleasant and the pianist Arda entertained us very discreetly and in a friendly way. I've been a guest there for a long time, the last few visits were disappointing. Yesterday we first waited 50 minutes for the main course. I ordered the salmon fillet. I was asked if I wanted another starter or two side dishes, which I said no to, but when the measly fillet came I realized why I would have been better off saying yes to both. A piece of salmon with sauce came for just under 30 Sfr. It's pretty bold to offer something like that as a main course. Especially because not too long ago there was the seafood platter with prawns, salmon and another fish and three sauces, which was about the same price. Plates were then cleared away without comment, what felt like an eternity later we were able to ask for the menu for the dessert, and when we were finally able to order and the dessert came after another half hour (a coffee and a scoop of ice cream) the glass was in it The ice cream was brought out, sticky and full of fingerprints. I told the waiter, Chef de Service came over, took everything in without comment, offered a replacement, but I had lost my appetite by now. We then left and definitely won't be coming back. P.S. At any given time there were between 4-6 people standing in the way of the delivery, including the pianist. Why? Speaking of which: please stick to the playing times shown on the website. There are many guests who can do without being accompanied by piano ballads of hits from the 80s and 90s while eating.

Very good pizza, very friendly service. However, like its sister establishment (Capri, Adliswil), the Cordon Bleu was not able to convince. In my opinion, the raclette cheese used is not suitable, the consistency is too sticky and, as a cheese filling, when it is only just melted (and in some cases not at all) it develops at most a bitter rather than interesting taste.

The food is of a ok quality but every time we go there the waiters are not friendly and it took them quite a long time to even take the order from us. Especially when I am there with a toddler she is already bored when they come to take orders. The staff are pretty bad. At the end I had to leave as they spent more than 40 mins to come and take an order and I had to pay 11 chf for a bottle of water on top of my 40 mins waiting to order and end up with no food with a toddler and a guest that had to take a train.

It was perfect! Surprisingly good cuisine. We hadn't eaten so well in a long time. Pasta, meat and seafood are top. Mixed salad with Italian sauce is really good. Bravo

A wonderful musical feast was presented accompanied by Arda Şenol. I definitely recommend it. We will come again especially to listen to Mr. Arda. Love and respect.

We sat outside on the beautifully shady terrace, the service was super friendly. The food tastes really delicious and the portion sizes are really more than enough. There is a lot to choose from between fine Italian dishes and traditional Swiss dishes. Can really be recommended. :)

I visited Restaurant Olivo on a Sunday morning; I sat down on the terrace and ordered an almond croissant and a café au lait (cup). The almond peak was crispy on the outside and well filled with the almond mixture on the inside; it tasted excellent. The terrace is rather large. Men/women can clearly see the goings-on around Horgen train station.

All around a good experience. And that again and again.

I seem to have been here a long time ago, which I only just noticed when I wanted to write the current review. Not very enthusiastic at the time, I have to say today that despite the construction site around the restaurant, the whole concept really convinced me on my second visit. We were really impressed and even thrilled by the ambience, the service, the menu and ultimately the food. At first the service wasn't very friendly, but when they noticed that I was taking pictures and photographing all the dishes, the service suddenly became much friendlier and the ambience, which is really special in a positive sense, does the rest so that you feel comfortable while you can enjoy the beautifully presented and really well cooked dishes.

The restaurant is nicely decorated, but the Cordon Bleu wasn't good and came 5 minutes later than my colleague's food. When we wanted to pay, we had to wait more than 15 minutes until I had to walk over to them to pay

Complaints on a high level, nevertheless: We went to Olivo twice at short intervals (last Friday evening and this Tuesday evening). The food on Friday was, as always, very good, the service attentive and very friendly. Since our table was right in front of the buffet, we took the full load of kitchen smells home. So when you get home, get out of your clothes that smell like grease, wash them and take a shower. Very uncomfortable! The temperature in the restaurant was uncomfortably cool despite being full. On Tuesday, when it was half full, the usual fine food was served, unfortunately served lukewarm on a cold plate, and my companion's pizza was only half warm. The cutlery was as cold as if it had been fresh from the freezer, the temperature in the restaurant was uncomfortably chilly, and the tea we ordered was forgotten twice. The friendly waitress, who was freezing in her fleece and winter boots, said it was because of the entrance door. Sure, the thermal curtain hangs OPEN in front of the outside door; there used to be a second one in front of the restaurant door in winter. Maybe the "Head of Heat Management" could take care of the matter and as far as ventilation is concerned: I really find few things as unappetizing as smelling my clothes as if I had been standing at the stove in the kitchen. By the way, it was even worse on Tuesday than on Friday. It's a shame, so we prefer to stay at home - with warm food on warm dishes, with warm cutlery. And we don't have to take a shower before going out. It also saves costs... We're all about using less heating and dressing warmer, including for the Olivo. Other Resti also manage to ensure that you don't come away from eating with cold hands and a cold tip of your nose. Why not in Olivo?

We, five people, were warmly welcomed at Olivo on Friday evening, without a reservation, on the way home from our vacation. With two children, this is not a given these days. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, the food was excellent. Particularly noteworthy was Pasha's very professional and helpful service. An excellent host, he made the end of our vacation special. Thank you very much!

The Olivo has its own character. Cozy and nice ambience. The food was good and at a reasonable price. The service was courteous and friendly. The music was a bit disappointing throughout the evening, disruptive to conversations and boring in the repertoire. That's why only three stars.

Although the location for me was not too appealing due to the closeness of the train station, I was surprised by the deliciousness and portion of their food. Make sure to order only one salad for two if you intend to have the main course after that!

My lunch place mostly when in the area. Therefore at lunch time: Always good menus, variety of choice, very friendly service, decent pricing. Absolutely nothing to complain and certainly for lunch time a trustworthy proposition!

We reserved a table for 7/7:30 p.m. and received a confirmation by email. When we got there, no one knew anything about our reservation. A table was set up for us outside in the “smoking corner”. Tablecloth, fork and knife - that's it. No napkin, nothing. The waitress promptly came to ask for an aperitif. I wanted to order a Negroni, after all we are in an Italian restaurant. The lady had no idea what a Negroni was. Well ok, Aperol Spritz works too. Order was taken and drinks came relatively quickly. We ordered the following food: Pizza Napoli (which was really good) and Penne Al Gameroni with lobster sauce. I myself am a trained chef and I bet this sauce (which consisted mainly of cream) has never been seen on a lobster or a lobster carcass. It was greasy, the prawns were overcooked and it wasn't a treat. We also ordered half a liter of water with gas - which never arrived, but was of course included in the bill. All in all very disappointing and I can't understand all the good reviews. I certainly won't leave another franc there and would rather go to a real Italian restaurant that doesn't lie on its menu. When we asked for napkins by the way, they were basically “thrown” onto the table. Totally unloving and the lady in service should look for a new job without customer contact. I think Olivio can only survive due to its direct location at the train station, which naturally attracts commuters for a snack or drink. Oh well. The managing director is unlikely to be interested in two fewer customers. The restaurant only gets the two stars because my partner's pizza was really good. By the way, this came first and I had to wait a good 7 minutes for my pasta and watch my partner eat it. There are so many better restaurants in Horgen than this.

I am very satisfied with the food at Olivio. I had the pleasure of eating there and have already ordered from Olivio. I also find the atmosphere in the evening to be very pleasant. If I'm not mistaken, I've also seen live music!

Risotto with asparagus was pretty good, however a little bit too runny. Huge pizzas.

Going to Olivo is always like coming home. You are welcome, you are served competently and “professionally”, you experience a hearty meal prepared with a lot of love “Kitchen TOP” and you enjoy the time until the end. "Angel" Always a wonderful experience!!
