Today I took the post bus from Locarno to Ronco sopra Ascona on a trip to Ticino. The stop on the terrace of the Ristorante del Centro was quite nice. The game pie we ordered was beautifully prepared and tasted excellent. The price isn't exactly cheap, including the view of the lake. A glass of red wine, an espresso and dessert rounded off the lunch. It's a shame, many house roofs were wrapped in green plastic sheets. At the end of August 2023, a storm caused a lot of damage in the village.

Beim zweiten Besuch war das Restaurant fast voll und die Bedienung war immer noch angenehm, sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und rasch. Keine langen Wartezeiten. Im Centro wird dies leider nicht so gesehen, da ist der "Vino tavola" wie vor 20 Jahren noch der günstige lokale Wein. Beide, weiss und rot waren die schlechtesten Weine der ganzen Ferienwoche, das gibt einen Punkt Abzug.Beim zweiten mal haben wir dann von der Weinkarte bestellt, die Weine haben uns viel besser geschmeckt. Vielleicht waren die Tischweine beim ersten Besuch auch explizit nicht nach unseren Geschmack.Fazit: Wer als Lokal nichts aussergewöhnliches sucht, aber gerne eine feine dünne knusprige Pizza oder ein ordentliches Risotto hat, der ist hier genau richtig. Lieber ein paar Franken in den Wein investieren. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder hingehen.
