Extremely nice, fast, friendly service from the Sicilian landlady. Excellent food a) pasta with tuna and b) fresh vegetable plate for vegans c) tasty red wine Nero d'Avola Prices: on the upper limit, but justifiable given the quality. As an Italian, I can only recommend the restaurant. The dishes are fresh and personalized (you don't get the classic pasta with pesto ;) ). The service was also very friendly. A lovely experience!

Ambience feels uncomfortably cold. Soup was great! Spaghetti lukewarm.

Was here for the first time today. It's been a long time since I've had such a delicious lunch in a restaurant! Compliments to the chef. Everything is freshly prepared and well priced considering what is on offer. The menu is always served with salad or soup, including a small dessert. The service staff was also very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely dine there more times. Recommended! If anyone is interested, you can now also pay with a lunch check! :)

Beautiful experience.. My partner and I had a fish tasting and we were amazed by the care taken with the dishes and the explosion of flavors that chef Luca, with his experience and passion for his work, transmits in every course! The service is well cared for, and at every door Mrs. Marica is always available and kind in taking care of the smallest details! What can I say? I recommend this magnificent place to everyone! And we will definitely be back soon.. congratulations to all the staff! Keep it up guys….

Very nice, attentive staff. The furnishings are a matter of taste, I liked it despite the kitsch. Unfortunately, the restaurant claims to be haute cuisine and tries to justify the horrendous prices. The kitchen definitely has potential, but there is still a lot of room for improvement. That's why my warmest, well-intentioned recommendation to the restaurant: Make the dishes a little simpler and lower the prices. The price/performance ratio is simply not right at all. TO BE AVOIDED. Evitare come la peste. Location: 1/5 In my opinion is very poor taste, the place looks unrefined, the interior design is tacky as hell. Service: 0/5 They brought me the wrong dish (of course the wrong one was more expensive). I was graceful enough to not make them cook another one (thus saving them wasting one dish), and they decided to charge me for the expensive one anyway. They also blamed me and said they asked me for confirmation, which is absolutely not true. Food: 2/5 There are a lot of much better italian restaurants in Basel. The clams in my risotto were completely tasteless, probably being farmed (vongole d'allevamento). Reviews: There are a lot of reviews that LOOK fake. Who writes a review putting perfectly choreographed pictures of every plate?

We were there for lunch. Few visitors, but still long waiting times, even though there was only a lunch menu. 1 person at our table spoke Italian. Then communication only took place in Italian. The menu salad was fresh but tasteless. The ravioli were ok. The bread was very good. Dessert was served. The room appears visually quite cool. Not right for me. cozy.

The Ristorante Sicilia in Kleinbasel is very inconspicuously located at a street intersection. The staff was polite, professional and very friendly and empathetic. The Italian-authentic food was prompt (from the starter to the dessert) and was a feast for the eyes at the highest level (see pictures). We were really thrilled! The Ristorante has a nice but simple Italian style in terms of furnishings. I can only recommend the restaurant to everyone!

The cozy restaurant with Sicilian charm impresses in many ways. In addition to the delicious dishes, Sicilia scores with its extremely friendly staff and fabulous wines. Highly recommended are the aubergine, the saffron risotto and the tirami stock (with pistachios). We'll definitely be back!

Got one five-course meat sampler and one fish sampler. Service was fantastic and very personal but unobtrusive. Drinks were well-crafted and there was a great wine menu. The food was exquisite. Every course was exceptional. It was well-worth the expense and one of the finer meals we have had. The Ristorante Sicilia is absolutely worth a detour if you are anywhere close to Basel.

Let me start by saying that I never like visiting Italian restaurants abroad since in the vast majority of cases they are commercial places that want to please simple palates by reiterating the stereotype of Italian cuisine with garlic and tomato. We ended up having lunch there because our guests wanted Italian cuisine, possibly Sicilian. Well, the experience turned out to be amazing. The young staff has been able to create an extraordinary reality where good traditional Sicilian cuisine is proposed with a contemporary twist of high quality. There is also an excellent choice of wines from the Sicilian territory. The staff is very friendly and the prices are more than honest.

Considering we are in Basilea, this young crew is doing a really good job with this restaurant. You can have a taste of Sicilian flavours in traditional dishes with a contemporary twist. There are also some options to adapt to a more international taste. Also there's a good selection of Sicilian wines. Keep up the great job!

I had the seafood risotto - this was the best dish I have ever tasted in my life. It was like everything I have ever wanted to taste in one dish. I absolutely loved everything about this restaurant. The quality is phenomenal.

We found ourselves having lunch again in this restaurant and I can reiterate the excellence of the dishes, presented in a spectacular way and with a completely winning flavour, the wine was very good, in fact it is one of the best. The service was impeccable, the owner Marika was very attentive for everything, from pouring the wine or water for the girls, to always asking if everything was to our taste and liking. We were welcomed into a beautiful and warm environment. The owners, Luca and Marika, are really easy-going, spontaneous and professional guys. A very well located restaurant near Messeplatz and a few minutes from Wettsteinbrucke. It is reminiscent of Sicily with its colors and its very friendly and courteous staff. The food menu is interesting and extensive, while the wine list is exclusively Italian.

I went to dinner with my boyfriend, we had a Sicilian appetizer to share, then I had the rigatoni with lamb ragù and chamomile foam and he had the arancina 2.0 (it's not an arancino, but a risotto that resembles the arancino traditional... to say the least exceptional and finally a selection of modest chocolate, the chefs choose based on what you ate, you need three types of flavours, for us they made 50% cocoa, salt and white pepper and marsala (liquor )…wow oh and the service in the room is super friendly, kind and very attentive to the smallest details

I was in Basel for 3 days to greet some friends, and we booked at this restaurant, I think it was the first or second evening that the terrace was open... it was enchanting. The youngest girl in the room introduces herself, asking us if we would like an aperitif, and she recommended the Sicilia special spritz, a truly fresh and tasty cocktail, created and prepared with great care. Then the other girl (owner) arrived to explain the menu to us in detail and specifying that the pasta is all handmade day by day by the guys in the kitchen. Curious and very hungry, we took various appetizers to try and share (scallops, scampi and mushrooms), then I took the raw lobster and Romanesco tagliolini... I was really amazed by the cooking and preparation of this dish, the others the hare and tuna with crazy water, a condiment that few people know about in Basel... Finally we had a cheese platter, a biscuit and coffee milk (it is a milk foam with biscuits and coffee jelly) and a tirami-sud with milk and pistachio (a variation of the usual tiramisu). All accompanied by espressos and grappas. An impeccable evening, I recommend it 100%

6 of us went for a business dinner on Saturday, my colleagues were very satisfied, and I'm very happy because I was the one who proposed this restaurant after having heard very good things about it around. we ate a Sicilian appetizer at the center of the table, and a plate to taste the mushrooms with pecorino cheese, pepper and honey, after which everyone took a main course, I took spaghetti with almonds and red prawns, truly delicious. at dessert we were full but the girls in the room recommended (and convinced) us a Sicilian orange liqueur combined with a tirami-sud and/or a Sicilian cannoli to end on a high note... all delicious and truly recommended

I had the pleasure of tasting the delicious dishes offered by this original restaurant during a business lunch in the company of three colleagues. Each course confirmed the quality of their cuisine! Among the various wines on the list, we chose an Etna red that was definitely up to par with the dishes ordered. The service was simply impeccable: the staff was constantly ready to satisfy every need, without ever being intrusive. Finally, a quality/price ratio above expectations. I really hope to have the chance to return for dinner!
