We stayed for a dinner of Roman cuisine-. Roman style artichokes excellent, carbonara and cacio e pepe just as much. honest bill. But an added value is definitely Anna the waitress!

Food wasn't standard. The chef uses good recipes and is creative 👍 Staff was friendly and always attentive 🙏 Breakfast is served. It's a problem if you don't know what's going on. At the end the table was full of good food. Room was spacious, clean, modern. Mattress was very very soft.

Congratulations to this place for being able to propose an original offer, of absolute quality and within everyone's reach. Quiet, because the rooms are located on the village side (not the station side). Abundant breakfast, in the hot season we were even served on the beautiful sunny terrace. The station is 30 m away and by RER we are 30 minutes from Lugano, 15 minutes from the Monte Generoso train and 15 minutes from Como. With the Ticino Ticket (included in the price of the stay), most trains and buses are free. Balerna is not a big tourist destination but there are beautiful places to see for nature lovers: Gole della Breggia (gorges), Parco Valle della Motta, trails in the Mendrisiotto vineyards, etc.

Clean, totally renovated small hotel/restaurant. Ideal for traveling by train, as it is only approx. 100 m from Balerna train station. The staff (owners?) make a lot of effort and you feel welcome, despite the language barrier (the person looking after us only speaks Italian). The furnishings in the small restaurant exude a rather cool ambience, but ultimately it is a matter of taste. When the weather is nice/warm there is a nice outdoor terrace for dining. We only had breakfast, the restaurant was still closed because of Corona. Due to the additionally good price/performance ratio, I think 5 stars are appropriate.
