Säli-Schlössli in Oftringen

Hülya Gök and family have been hosting the Sälischlössli since April 2022 and have woken up the excursion mountain from a slumber. The service is fast and super friendly, the food tastes delicious and a visit is simply a pleasure. It is advisable to make a reservation if you want to have lunch in the restaurant.

It's worth going and the surroundings are very pleasant 😉👍

The restaurant is very clean and the service is very nice. The toilets are also clean. The furnishings are very simple. The prices were a bit shocking, a coffee, a chocolate and two pieces of cake cost 37 francs.

Amazing, yet untapped potential. Food mostly average. Staff very nice and helpful. Castle looks excellent from the outside, inside loses a bit of a climate.

We had a family celebration in the knight's hall. Barbara's service was perfect, attentive and very thoughtful. The food for the adults as well as the children's menus were very plentiful and good. We felt very comfortable.

Very attentive service and really tasty food

After checking the opening times (both on Google and on the website) we walked up to Säli Schlössli - only to find at the top that it was closed. So we called quickly and found out that it was closing early because there were no reservations and there were no guests. No wonder other guests have had the same experience in the past...

I ate a pork cutlet with a side of vegetables and chips and smoked bacon, I honestly wasn't satisfied🤦🏻‍♂️ the service was good, the atmosphere was fantastic

Very nice view in nice weather. The opening times could be longer in summer so that you can possibly enjoy a dinner with the sunset.

A wonderful place to spend a celebration and eat very good and very freshly prepared food. Everything was very freshly prepared - the salads, all the food - and the staff rushed to bring everything we wanted, the café cappuccino, wine, beer and all other drinks to the table within a few minutes. And that with over 70 guests in the hall. As soon as we are in the area again, we will visit the Säli-Schlössli, that is guaranteed. The Berliners.

Absolutely amazing view and location up there!! 360° all-round view. The food is good Swiss, simple and perfect for hikers. If you don't have too many demands, you'll be happy with what's on offer here. :-)

Today we were at the Sälischlössli for the first time since the new host couple. Had a great conversation with the landlady. Very nice and very organized. We'll be going out to eat soon and we're really looking forward to it. Sälischlössi impresses with, among other things, the 360* panorama. Unique foresight. We wish the host couple continued success and many guests.

It was beautiful on the hall. Great view! Service was really nice and accommodating. Food was very good. Everything to recommend. I really appreciate that you can go to the Sälischlössli again to have something to eat and drink. In today's situation, this cannot be taken for granted. Many many thanks.

We made reservations for brunch on a Sunday. It was written down incorrectly and they made a reservation for lunch. At brunch there was no braid or croissants and otherwise it was just a slimmed down offering and not beautifully served either. This all happened without comment and without apology. We even had to ask about the bread. And only when we asked whether there would be Zopf or croissants did they tell us that they didn't have any left. Nevertheless, we ended up paying the full price. In addition, the waiter slipped the tray with Birchermüesli on it and the contents fell onto the clothes around the baby on one of us with a baby on her lap. We weren't offered a high chair or anything else for the small child we had with us. The service was nice, but could have asked more often. The food was good. The terrace is ok, nice view, it's a shame that there are plastic chairs. The toilets were very clean. All in all, rather a disappointment.

Last time I had a fitness plate and it tasted okay. Today there was a coup romanoff, some cream with 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream and strawberries and a non-alcoholic drink, price 18.50 CHF! The price would be ok in a good serviced location, but I consider this price to be too high for self-service. The climb to the roof terrace is very, very steep, unfortunately the lift was broken because the view is sensational. Just like the elevator, the rest of the restaurant is also getting a bit old, a freshening up would certainly be good. By the way, the toilets were nice and visually clean, but they don't fit in with the rest of the place. If you don't walk up to the Schlössli, you might have trouble finding one of the few parking spaces. I was served friendly and quickly, but all in all it was just good average.

Super friendly, very clean and the pear cake with vanilla ice cream is so delicious. Our dogs are also welcome

The operators are very nice. But unfortunately not enough choice on the menu. But a very nice view. Coffee and cake very tasty.

I think it's a shame that they're only open until 9 p.m., i.e. 6 p.m. on Sundays. Especially in summer.

Have not been here, just found it on Google maps. It looks really interesting - except -what is the ugly grey cement thing building attached to the castle there for? Why doesn't it match the look of the castle building? Can it not be made to look traditional or like part of the castle? I don't understand. Looking forward to seeing the pretty castle part and trying the food someday! With so many good reviews, it must be a great place to visit! : )

It was closed in February, so we hiked up in vain. It was open today, but there is pressure to consume. As if the view belonged to the restaurant. Not like that!

The service has often been rated as good and friendly on FB, I can confirm that! People have often complained about the food, but we ate very well! We'd love to come back!

The restaurant in the castle is cozy and relatively small. It is suitable for small occasions. It has self-service for snacks, drinks and service. The service is nice and quick. The food was very good: the salad was very fresh and the panur, the fish crispy and the fish were very tasty.

The restaurant has an awesome view, but one must use the internet to find his/her way up, when coming from Oftringen. The only way up there with the car, is through Olten 👍. The food option as a plant based eater was unavailable on the menu and i did not ask for the place was packed on a sunday after church..so i had the salad with French dressing and chips. The meals looked good for the rest ofnthe family who enjiyed the delicacy od the the meat, and the kids loved their menu. The service was on point, quick to serve and quick to bring all dishes , so there was no waiting around even though the place was packed. Another good point, this restaurant is pet friendly, dogs were the second guests in the indoor and the terasse which as a dog lover is awesome but if you have a phoby stay in the terasse the view will either way be a plus for you.

Nice restaurant in an old castle on top of the hill with a wonderful view. Small and simple menu but the food is really good. Kind staff and clean toilets.

It couldn't be better! Congratulations from the Gök family, hospitality is still very important here. Quality of food and service is top! This is how you enjoy coming to the beautiful Sälischlössli! Regardless of whether you are a hiker, a professional cyclist or a chic person, everyone is equally well served here (prominent predecessors could learn something here...)

The view is fantastic. Nice, simple outdoor area. The interior looks a bit like a waiting room. But it is beautifully set and we got the most beautiful table with a view of Olten without a reservation. The salad was fresh with a fine salad dressing, beautifully presented, but a little too simple for my taste as a salted plate for the price. However, the service makes up for a lot. The waitress gets 10 points from me. With so much charisma and the good feeling she gave us with her laughter, it's impossible to leave feeling miserable. It was just a shame that there was no sausage cheese salad, even though it was on the menu.

We recently visited friends in Switzerland. Our hosts took us to the Sali-Schlössli. This is not just a restaurant, but you can also enjoy a great view from the terrace. Although there was a sign pointing to self-service, we were served at the table by a particularly nice, attentive and humorous lady. We were here at lunchtime and ordered various dishes. Everything was really good and perfectly prepared. However, the Swiss sausage salad was different from what we usually know. Not just sausage, cheese and pickles and no vinegar/oil-based dressing, but a mixed salad and a creamy dressing. The house salad dressing is one of the best things I've ever tasted. Maybe it will work out that we can have dinner there, because there were still a few dishes on the menu that I would really like to try.

Very nice excursion destination above Olten, reachable by car or on foot from Aarburg or Oftringen. Very nice garden terrace to eat or drink and enjoy the view.

During a bike tour, stop and eat and drink something. The driveway is steep but doable despite the e-bike. The view and friendly staff are worth it.

Excellent service, enjoy an ice cream or some typical dish and the most spectacular panoramic view of Olten and the surrounding area, Aarburg, Schoennenwerd, you can go up by car to the Sällischlossli parking lot, by bicycle with a more or less slope or on foot from the Olten , a beautiful walk no matter how you do it, next to the parking lot, you can go up a little to the ruins and feel the old nostalgic buildings still built in time... Aarburg, Schoennenwerd...

Beautiful view. Service nice. It's a nice hike up, nothing challenging. Regarding architecture, how ideologically blind do you have to be to stick a glass - steel - concrete block to this "little castle". Take that away

On July 2nd, 2022 we were able to enjoy a good lunch at our family reunion at the Säli-Schlössli. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Hülya fulfilled all of our wishes ☺️ We would be happy to come back at any time! A visit to the Säli is recommended.

Unfortunately, the weekend menu seems to be stuck in the 80s. Uncreative and not a single full-fledged menu without meat... The three stars are solely thanks to the great location and, above all, the great and helpful service staff!

Doesn't make the best impression, seems a bit like a tourist spot. Drink very expensive. Didn't eat anything, so my rating is based on the location, drink prices and sanitary facilities.

We have been here again for a long time. And I have to honestly say, likeable! The landlady, very friendly and competent, recommended a dessert for us. We'll definitely come back, then for dinner.

I know it from before (we had the wedding meal). Everything was great. No comparison to today. A pity.

Unfortunately the food is rather mediocre, you think you can't go wrong with a salad plate, far from it, not a good salad dressing and the potatoes for the salad weren't cooked through either. A pity! Then with 4 people service staff self-service?
