Ambiance perfect, service super nice and accommodating. Eat well with room for improvement. The entrecôte wasn't bad, but could have been more tender. Price/performance a bit high.

Top service, top cuisine, top ambience, super friendly. The restaurant is worth every cent, it was my first time there but certainly not the last. 🙃

The Scala Restaurant offers an excellent gastronomic experience. From the moment you enter to the moment you leave, you will be greeted by a warm and professional service team. The ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality, and the preparation of the dishes shows the technical expertise of the kitchen crew. The service at Scala Restaurant is impeccable. The staff is attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the various dishes and drinks. They are always willing to make recommendations and respond to individual requests. Overall, the restaurant offers a first class dining experience. It is the perfect place for special occasions or a perfect lunch or dinner. I can only warmly recommend it and look forward to my next visit.

We had dinner yesterday on our wedding anniversary, the reception was very friendly, the food left nothing to be desired, tartar, beef fillet, veal loin steak, served on the plate like a picture. The service was very accommodating, not pretending to be friendly, so we went home happy, thank you very much

We had a great time at the kitchen club, where you'll be taken behind the scenes and can watch the chefs doing their magic. Of course you will be served high quality food, while you can enjoy the proceedings and ask questions, to get some tips for recipes you might seek to improve your skills.

Visited Restaurant Scala Montana yesterday for lunch. Rode the funicular up to the restaurant. Everything from the welcome by Annabelle to the service by Gabriella, to the views over the lake, and until we left, it felt like we were visiting friends. We had the tasting menu and chose the 4- course meal. The food was exceptional! From the beet root tortellini to the passion fruit pistachio mousse - decadent and filling. Gabriella, Christine, and Lucia were all knowledgeable about the wine and they explained each dish. Thank you Scala for making our visit to Lucerne that much better.

Great place, tasty and original dishes with quite some effort put into it's visual presentation as well as taste diversity. Dishes are expectedly small, a minimum of three courses is standard.

It's absolutely worth going to Scala (Montana). The view from the terrace for an aperitif and dining in the hall is breathtaking. The staff that looked after us was extremely professional and friendly. The kitchen is perfect, there is nothing that can be done better. We would be happy to come to you for dinner again!

Gastronomy at the top level with a great price/performance ratio!

We had watermelon gazpacho and risotto and both were delicious! I have to eat gluten free and they had the most amazing gluten free bread loaf to eat with the provided dips.

In a city within a country where breathtaking views are abundant, the view from Restaurant Scala is among the most awe-inspiring. The service was superb and the flavors were inventive and delightful. Our server was attentive and friendly. A nightcap in the bar is not to be missed, especially when their glorious jazz musicians are playing. We look forward to dining here again!

We visited the Montana Hotel restaurant: Scala, after seeing reviews on Google. We wanted a scenic dinner to remember our stay in Lucerne. Two of our group are coeliac and this was easily managed, they even brought out GF bread options. The staff were delightful, the food delicious and the view is absolutely amazing! Highly recommend.

Elegant restaurant, cozy atmosphere and beautiful view overlooking the lake. The services were top, very child friendly and thoughtful. The dishes I chose all was tasty. Still, I had a higher expectation for the dessert, but fine.

Don't be fooled by the high ratings on Google reviews. The only redeeming quality of this restaurant is the view. Service was extremely slow, and food was down right awful. Worst meal I had in Switzerland and also the most expensive. Dishes felt like try hards. Passion fruit crust did not go well with the veal, which tasted like it was boiled. Sea bass also dry. Lamb chops themselves were good, but none of the other items on the dish complemented it. Scallops and ravioli were okay, but you only get two scallops for the large portion. Wine pairing was underwhelming, the server said nothing about the wine, only “here’s the first one”.

We stopped by spontaneously and were served very courteously. The ambience and the view from the terrace are beautiful. The food was good and nicely prepared. However, the taste of the food remained below our expectations of 15 Gault & Millau points. For example, the eggplant picata was very bland and rudimentary. The gnocchi was also too doughy and fattening. A capsule espresso for dessert didn't go well with the good drinks (which were available at the beginning).

We really enjoyed this evening. In addition to the fine food and a good wine, to have such a great view is simply wonderful. Professional staff, good cuisine and a cozy atmosphere make it what it is - I'm happy to pay a little more for that. Thank you very much

I rarely give something 5 stars, but Restaurant Scala deserves them all. The view and dining area were incredible. The pianist was incredible and clever. The service was top tier. The server was pleasant, prompt but not overly intrusive, and the food all hit the table at the exact same time. The food itself was impeccable - the filet was one of the best I've ever had - cooked perfectly and the flavors were incredible. The past was light and delicious. I would absolutely come here again.

Back in my old home for lunch as part of a small family get-together. We were six people. As reserved, our table was in a beautiful location on the great terrace with a breathtaking view over the city of Lucerne and the mountains. We were served by a very nice and charming lady. Your work was extremely professional. Of course, this also applies to the Head of Service. Everyone chose the lunch menu. The food was excellent. The lunch menu is offered at an extremely attractive price. Everything is perfect in the Scala restaurant. Congratulations! A great place that I will definitely return to.

Most beautiful view in Lucerne with very good food and service - simply recommended.

I rarely write reviews unless the experience was exceptionally good or poor, and in this case it was unfortunately the latter. From the first interaction to the last, the woman who showed us to our table was rude, bordering on hostile. When I said I had a reservation, instead of asking for my name, she bizarrely berated me for not first offering my details unprompted. Her demeanor sadly never improved. I’ve never had an experience like it and I’d advise the restaurant to consider someone else for the role.

Sensational price-performance ratio for a wonderful menu with a sensational view and good service

We were able to spend a fantastic evening at Scala. Despite a last minute reservation on the occasion of our wedding anniversary, the deputy restaurant manager Yves found a table for us that was beautifully decorated. We were warmly welcomed and the view over Lucerne is incredible. The food and drinks chosen were very good, our waitress Benedikt was extremely attentive and very charming. We were spoiled from A to Z and would love to come back.

Wonderful ambience with a great view. The service can only be praised highly, all the employees are extremely attentive, courteous and nice!! The food was excellent and beautifully prepared. All the components fit together really well and it was a real pleasure. The restaurant is certainly in the higher price category, but every effort is made to do justice to this price. We had a great evening, with perfect food and excellent service! We would like to come again!

If you are in Lucerne and want to see it from above or want to celebrate a special occasion there is no better place than the Scala. The view over Lucerne is breathtaking, the food sublime, the service divine. The prices for the experience are very good in my opinion. Usually you need to pay more for similar service and food, mind you it's not cheap but for occasional visits well worth it.

Like every year, we are in Montana on August 1st and celebrate our wedding anniversary. On August 1st, 2015 we celebrated a lavish party. The August 1st menu was a dream again today. As usual, the service was friendly and highly professional. We would like to come again

Eating on the terrace with a stunning view of the lake and the city is absolutely magical. The food served is excellent. The combinations of flavors really hit the spot. I would have liked a little more meat on the plate. But other than that everything was perfect. Indeed, don't miss the beach bar for an aperitif before dinner.

The service was very nice, but I am disappointed with the price-performance ratio and cannot recommend this restaurant. You can choose between a small or large plate. Since the large plate is USUALLY very generous in restaurants, I chose a small one here. For 32 francs I have ONE! Tiny zucchini rösti served with white asparagus, some olive mousse and a few cherry tomatoes!

Gastronomy at a high level, all wishes are fulfilled. There is simply nothing to complain about, simply TOP! Unfortunately it is a bit too warm in summer because of the glazing. Since the weather in Lucerne is sometimes less than ideal, protection from the weather is of course very pleasant.
