My two boys were thrilled to get so close to snakes, although it took a certain amount of effort to actually touch these animals. The snakes here are kept in a species-appropriate manner and because the size is manageable, you can also, as mentioned, get closer to the snakes, which is not the case in the very large Zurich Zoo. I would have liked to play with the green mamba or the spitting cobra...😉 Which of course wasn't possible... I can only warmly recommend a visit...

My girlfriend and I went to this snake zoo with full anticipation. Countless snakes and very clean and well-maintained terrariums awaited us. It even had a cameleon that looked at us, well whatever eye. You could even watch snakes being fed and hold the snakes. It is an experience for young and old.

Excellent facility. Snakes (poisonous, non-venomous) from all continents in all sizes in clean and large terrariums. I thought it was particularly great that children and adults were allowed to keep various (non-poisonous) animals themselves. I think this, together with the valuable information, helps against the widespread snake phobia and dispels prejudices that snakes are "scary", slimy or all "dangerous". Children and adults leave the zoo with lots of new knowledge and great experiences. Please note that the snake zoo is only open on Wednesday afternoons and on weekends. Parking spaces are available in front of the building.

Was a really fun experience, they have loads of really pretty and interesting snakes to look at. If you as an adult want to go and hold any, I'd probably recommend going on a weekday. We went on a Sunday so there were loads of families and kids there so of course the kids get to hold the snakes first. I believe they'll only take some of the bigger snakes out if there aren't too many/any kids around.

Unfortunately I'm a little disappointed. The price/performance ratio doesn't suit me. For an entrance fee of 9 francs you can view around 50 snakes in a room with an estimated 100m2. In many pet stores you can get something similar for free. Ok, to be fair, I have to say that the terrariums here are larger and more beautifully presented and the selection of animals also exceeds the average pet store. When we entered the "zoo" we were immediately greeted by a somewhat dirty, sour smell. Maybe that's normal with so many queues. In any case, the showroom looked neat and tidy. The toilets were less appetizing, but not too tragic either. What was special was that they were virtually open to the showroom. So in the showroom there is a small niche with a basin for washing hands and two toilet doors (male, female) that start at a height of about 20cm. From the snake cage you could see straight away whether someone was sitting comfortably on the throne...or standing 😄. I don't really know whether this has anything to do with the smell, but an open toilet in a showroom is definitely something special. What also really disappointed me is that the terrarium equipment is mainly made of plastic. You won't find real plants. I realize that real plants require effort and that plastic plants sometimes look nice, but no plastic has a chance against real plants. I can't say whether the snake doesn't care, but I can imagine that they also prefer real ones. Almost every Qualipet or zoo has real plants in their terrariums, which is what I expect from a small terrarium zoo. But the snakes were very interesting, were beautifully presented and mostly looked relatively young in terms of size. We were unlucky (?) that there were a lot of small children in the room at the time. Of course it was an experience for them...at least the first few minutes. The noise level was enormous in the small zoo room and the kids ran from terrarium to terrarium with their little stools, squeezing in front of you and touching and knocking on the animals' windows without their mother being interested. When it comes to the staff and learning factor, there were mixed experiences.
