Large outside area, the staff is very friendly and accommodating even when stressed. The patron is always in a good mood. Good menu. Actually everything is recommended, pizzas, sandwiches (only as long as fresh bread is available), hot stone and cordon bleu. Everything fresh. Price/performance good. You feel good.

Terrible service in this restaurant.We ordered pizza Pepperoni for a kid and waitress brought us plane pizza with red pepper with no sausage on it. When we showed that Google pictures of the pepperoni, the waitress was irritated and even angry. Didn’t offer to change pizza even when the child got upset. Extremely unwelcoming place for tourists.

A “waiter” clears the tables next to them. He was next to my "empty table" four times WITHOUT NOTICEING THAT I WAS WAITING FOR SERVICE... After 10 minutes I left it as a 3-occupied table..... again like that!!!!

- Food good but EXPENSIVE - Service friendly but overwhelmed - Attention present but INSUFFICIENT Stopped in as a passerby on a warm Sunday evening in July. The reaction of the waiter on duty made me feel like I was being disturbed. The tagliatelle al salmone we ordered took a while to arrive, but seemed to be freshly prepared. A lot of fine cream sauce requires some bread, which first had to be ordered and then brought in the form of just 2 (two) smallest pizza rolls. No questions about whether it was right, no questions about special requests like wine or something similar. After dinner I ordered an ashtray. This arrived promptly and was picked up from the next table by the waiter. Note "FULL". An absolute NO-GO in the hospitality industry. Nevertheless, the waiter said "only provisionally", which was absolutely not necessary because the cigar wasn't even pierced yet OK! The temporary thing turned out to be a politically correct permanent solution and the ashtray was never exchanged. This also led to the bill being paid WITHOUT a tip, which the waiter understandably didn't like. Anyone who does their job properly and correctly ALWAYS gets a donation from me. Anyone who hates the work should change something.

Friendly quick service. Nice quiet outdoor seating by a cute public square. Plenty of shade. Varied menu incl. gluten-free options. Their sausage salad (Wurstsalat) with french fries is exceptionally tasty. I subtracted one star because of slightly uncomfortable garden chairs. Other than that a great experience!

For several years I have been enjoying penne arabiata, which I have never eaten better anywhere. They always taste great.

I needed to pay 120.50fr. for a lunch (2 espressos and 1 cupcake) RIDICULOUS!!

This service worker in the photo is cheeky and insults the customers as if they were dirt, so a termination would be advisable. On my part, I will no longer support this restaurant, we are a family of 12, and we will also advise against everyone I know who also comes here... We don't allow ourselves to be insulted, we just wanted to have a coffee and nowhere does it say card payment from 21 francs and that's why you don't have to insult me. In this pandemic, I don't pay in cash and if you don't accept card payment, write it on the tables.... and a good tip a report was also made to the BAG employees who walk around in the restaurant without a mask and let an unvaccinated test person in, great team AND THEN A BIG MOUTH TO OPEN RUDE!!

A home-style restaurant. There is also pizza and Indian cuisine here. The price performance is right. There is a large terrace in the heart of Pratteln.

Went for a snack at Kaffee Schmittiplatz on Wednesday August 25th with a hiking group of 15 people. Fast friendly service. Gladly again!

First time round we got a very tasty Lasagna, and a simple Pizza, Chips for the older kid who had a very tasty Tomato Soup to start. I ordered a beer as well. Overall it was a very enjoyable meal, in a relaxed setting, and the price was very reasonable (which is very rare in Switzerland!)Second time round, we mixed it up a little and ordered a Pasta dish (the name of which I have no clue), and a Beef Curry and Rice, and again the tomato soup for the kid but this time a side order of bread, and lots of it, for him to munch on as he waited for us to finish! Service and ambiance still very good, but the meal wasn't as good as first time round. Might be due to use ordering dishes we wouldn't normally consider, but it was still pretty decent and good. Overall I liked this restaurant a lot, one of the very rare times I enjoyed dining out in Switzerland.

Pizza war gut, von der Größe hat es für mich gereicht. Bedienung aufmerksam und sehr freundlich.

Официантка с пренебрежением отнеслась т.к. я иностранец. Нас было 5 человек, пообедали почти на 200 франков... и такое отношение к клиентам. Было очень неприятно.. Больше не пойду туда. После еды моего друга вырвало, а мне стало плохо через несколько часов. Не советую..

Prima Service und nettes Ambiente. Bin öfters da und immer wieder zufrieden. Sehr leckere Pizza. Außerdem großer, feiner Salat und leckeres Cordon Bleu. Es gibt auch asiatisches Essen. Direkt in der Innenstadt von Pratteln in direkter Nähe zum Schloss. Von dort aus fußläufig zum Bahnhof und der Tram und den meisten Stadtteilen von Pratteln. Direkt am Schmittiplatz. Personal ist super nett und persönlich.

Im Kaffi Schmittiplatz ist man super gut 👌👍

Restaurant très sympathique avec un service rapide et différents menus du jour à prix correct

Mein Sohn kaufte sich an der Fasnacht, über die Gasse, eine Mehlsuppe für SFr. 8.50, welche in einer Lasagne-Aluschale gereicht wurde. Die Suppe schmeckte seltsam und in der Suppe war ein nastuchgrosser "Schlämpe". Richtig ekelig!!🤢

Une belle et grande terrasse au sud où l'on peut manger des glaces et des crêpes ou boire un verre dès qu'il y a du soleil...même en hiver. La place est très calme, très peu de circulation car en ville dans une zone un peu piétonne. Le personnel est souriant et détendu. L'ambiance est familiale ou amicale et l'on peut bien sûr aussi manger dehors où dedans.

Looking for a place to eat on monday evening at 19:30. Looked at places that should have been open according to trip advisor but were in fact closed on mondays. But I was lucky that a nice guy pointed me towards Kaffi. I felt welcome from the first moment although I do not speak any german. The food is good, and the service friendly. Do not expect magic culinary dishes, but a paste or pizza they can absolutely make nicely

Wir waren am Wochenende hier in diesem Restaurant mit meiner Familie. Das Essen ist eifach immer gut, sensationell. Salat, Fleisch, Gemüse .. alles war frisch zubereitet. Auch das Personal sehr freundlich und schnelle Bedienung. Es ist auch ein Kinderfreundliches Restaurant Sehr gerne wieder

Kokosnuss Currysuppe mit Salatblättern als Stützhilfe der Kokosnuss serviert. Geht gar nicht!!! Habs dem Koch mitteilen lassen. Leider wurde gar nicht reagiert. Carpaccio war wässrig und geschmacklos. Convenience Food halt. Schade für die tolle Lage mitten in Pratteln.

In der Schmitte treffe ich mich oft nit Freunden. Oder ich sitze mit einem Buch dort und lese. Die Schmitte hat so ein bisschen alles. Kaffee. Mittagessen. Nachtessen. Oder man trifft sich auf ein Bier. Die Schmitte ist so eine Art Pub im ur-irischen Sinn. A public place für alle zu jeder Tages- und Abendzeit. Die Schmitte ist ein Farbtupfer im Dorf. Übrigens, sie haben tolle Salatteller. Und belegte Brötli. Die belegten Brötli kann ich wirklich empfehlen.
