excellent birthday meal on a Sunday lunchtime. Impeccable welcome and service! THANKS!

The host couple is very warm and friendly. The service staff was very courteous, efficient and professional. The food always exceeds expectations. It is always a pleasure for the eyes and the palate to dine there. The restaurant is decorated in light wood and very lovingly and tastefully. Large windows make the room bright and flooded with light and provide a wonderful view of Lake Schwarzsee and the mountains. Since it is very busy on weekends, a table reservation is highly recommended. We always enjoy coming to SchwarzseeStärn and can highly recommend it.

Very pretty restaurant with a view of the Schwarzsee. The atmosphere is warm and the tables are very neat with cloth tablecloths and napkins. The dishes are prepared with care and quality. The chef works with local products and is a very friendly person who can be approached very often. The service is discreet, welcoming and smiling. Fast and well organized, I had a great experience. The price is absolutely correct for this quality of establishment. In summer the terrace is just as pleasant. Also ideal for groups with reservation. Car parking available nearby and large parking lot. Ideal for a walk around the lake and enjoy the freshness of this exceptional spot.

A very fine meal, top cuisine, top views, beautiful terrace and a perfect garden... Everything for a wonderful evening. The price is in the upper range, we knew that. Why do I only give ONE star! When paying... THE SHOCK! We do not accept credit cards... Only debit cards and the Postcard and cash. In my opinion, this is not worthy of such a Guild top restaurant in a tourist town...

What a wonderful experience!!! We were able to enjoy a phenomenal meal with perfect service on the wonderful terrace. GIGANTIC!!!

The dining experience. First you are greeted very friendly and shown to the table. Then you admire the beautiful area. And the food is world class! With coffee I recommend the Büscheli pear schnapps, a regional pear fruit, which as a schnapps rounds off the palate experience very delicately and deliciously!

It is with great pleasure that I would return to this magnificent place, a very relaxing, elegant and family atmosphere, the price is very reasonable considering what we ate as I always say, quality pays for itself and art and know-how n have no price. Without a doubt the most beautiful restaurant on Lac Noir, a very diversified wine list, I can't wait to be able to taste certain Portuguese wines and certain dishes, although I usually take photos of the dishes, I just took a photo of the receipt because they are real works to discover from start to finish it was pure joy there you can feel all the love put into each dish if by habit you see me very critical in my posts due to my vision on this profession which makes me part of me too! On the other hand, I can only say good things, everything from A to Z was perfect!

Beautiful restaurant with lovely view of the lake and mountains. We loved the truffle soup and the lamb shoulder 😋 the wines in Swiss glasses were good and at a very reasonable price. We were in sports clothes and thought we were not well dressed enough for the occasion but the atmosphere is rather family with small children but still calm. I recommend this restaurant and the waitress well deserved the 10 chf tip thanks to the quality of her French/Swiss-German service. We will come back with pleasure!

The food was very good, a little expensive, good portions. The menu selection was okay. The service is friendly and competent. Unfortunately you cannot pay with a credit card (Master, Visa).

I want to record my words to Gault&Millau Switzerland from December 27th, 2023 as a review: Ladies and Gentlemen We, a married couple who do not work in the catering industry, consciously choose to enjoy high to groundbreaking, outstanding levels of culinary art on a weekly basis. I can say that I have in-depth knowledge of food and have been dining in excellent restaurants for decades, both privately and professionally, and this beyond the cantonal and national borders. Yesterday at SchwarseeStärn, Schwarzsee, we enjoyed the finely tuned “menu tasting” with smoked beetroot tartare & duck breast, grilled lobster tail with its bisque, entrecôte with Maggia pepper jus and a fine hazelnut-vanilla-tangerine dessert. A pleasure! We experienced the food again, as seasonal, very good cuisine, indeed as a menu with a high degree of culinary art and quality and all this in a cozy setting with designated service. In advance, we were surprised to learn that the SchwarzseeStärn restaurant was rated 12 points in 2023, which is described as “conventional, good cuisine without any particular ambitions” (Gault&Millau 2022, p. 17). We have been experiencing this kitchen performance for a long time, "absolutely not as conventional good cuisine without any special ambitions", but as very good cuisine, with a high degree of culinary art, which offers significantly more than the everyday. I cannot understand this assessment in any way and am actually wondering how this assessment came about. What criteria did the testers use to effectively grade the SchwarseeStärn restaurant? About the quality and freshness of the products used? Creativity and professionalism of preparation? For harmony in the composition of individual dishes and a menu sequence? After strictly adhering to the cooking times? The wholesomeness and presentation of the dishes? By consistency of kitchen performance (how often were they there…)? All taking into account the personal tastes of the testers - I suspect that this must be the decisive point here. I wonder if the reviewers really had in-depth knowledge of food. Were recommendations from Gault Millau chefs obtained? Have those responsible critically questioned the proposed 12 points? This rating from Gault&Millau remains absolutely incomprehensible to me and is incomprehensible based on the specified criteria. Aware that awards do not say everything about the performance of a kitchen, I am extremely disillusioned about the questionable rating of Restaurant SchwarseeStärn, as this rating is considered the absolute minimum in the gastronomy scene. Gault Millau points should give me guidance when making a decision about which restaurant to choose. In this case I can only negate the rating. Short and sweet: I'm already looking forward to our next time in SchwarseeStärn and I laugh at this kind of obvious false assessment.

Great food. The only problem: the meat dishes were not served correctly (assignment of the cooking level), but we noticed this immediately and were able to correct it 😉

High-quality food prepared with the greatest care, which you can enjoy in a beautifully quiet and idyllic view of nature, Lake Schwarzsee and the mountains. The service was also extremely courteous and always attentive. I can only give the warmest recommendation to pay a visit to the restaurant, which is designed in a "homey" farmhouse style with carved wooden ceilings!

Offer only for upscale guests! There is only the MENU for Fr. 80 and three or four other dishes between Fr 30-48. Not recommended for us.

Well. The food and the service were okay, even though the waitress could barely speak German... However, the otherwise courteous waitress didn't notice that she should perhaps change the soiled tablecloth before the new table was allocated. For me personally the price level is at the highest limit. The fact that a company with the mentioned price level doesn't accept credit cards makes me smile and surprise me... We waited in vain for a child seat for our little one.

After a Sunday walk we went for a nice meal, the service staff was friendly and accommodating. We liked the fish crispy and salad, but they were too expensive for me compared to the price/performance ratio. We also dined on a tablecloth that had already been soiled by a previous guest and, last but not least, we couldn't pay with a credit card.

A visit to Stärn is a must on every trip to Schwarzsee. The kitchen surprises us again with always fresh, seasonal ingredients. The wonderful view over the lake also adds to it. The friendly and familiar service is always good.

Yes, that was very nice and entertaining yesterday because we still got to hear music from 2 hand organ players. The food was excellent as always. The innkeepers Sofi and Hans were very welcoming as always.

The host rules the public parking lot. She pretends that the parking lot is private even though it is a public parking lot. threatens to call the police when it is forbidden. I have not eaten in this restaurant, I do not recommend it given the lie of the host and the bad manners. I met the police, who confirmed to me that it is illegal.

Beautiful restaurant in Schwarzsee, in summer a large terrace with a view of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The menu was very well put together, regional with a breath of fresh air in the Stärn cuisine by Junior and his team. The boss provides great service, the boss does the honors. The price/performance is also good, which is not something you are used to in Switzerland. Thank you for the lovely evening. Keep it up!

A very cozy place, a terrace with views of the frozen lake this day, a walk that lasts about an hour or so. The service is efficient, and the food is very good. Price consistent with what is offered....

Beautiful restaurant. Very large. High ceiling, lots of wood, rustic, cozy. Outside there is a lovingly designed terrace with many beautiful details. The parking lot is large and yet manageable. It is (almost) located on the always fascinating, wonderfully beautiful Schwarzsee 😊The atmosphere is calm and pleasant. The service is extremely warm, even excellent. Top! Thank you very much.

Nice restaurant, but unfortunately the service is lacking! There were only 3 people in the restaurant and the waitress didn't pay any attention to us. Waited about 10 minutes to say hello and place the order. They preferred talking together instead of working. I think the restaurant only wants guests to eat and not guests who just want to have a coffee! A pity.

Spontaneously asked for a free table for lunch after the hike and were lucky to get a table in the restaurant by the window front. We decided on the Degu menu and were thrilled. Top performance from the kitchen! Friendly service, good wine advice. Everything was really perfect and we would love to stop here again and enjoy this great cuisine.

Der Stärn ist ohne Zweifel das beste Restaurant vor Ort, eigentlich ein Plichtbesuch, wenn man in Schwarzsee ist. Die gemütliche Atmosphäre, der freundliche Service und natürlich die vorzügliche Küche zeichnen das Gilde-Restaurant aus. Schon das Amuse Bouche ist ein Schmankerl, die Wildgerichte sind ein Gedicht, die Weinauswahl erlesen. Vielen Dank an Fam. Jungo und ihr Team für die tolle Arbeit.

Un restaurant au top!! Nous sommes venues un dimanche à midi sur la terrasse, l’accueil a été parfait, le service parfait aussi, et la nourriture de la tuerie!! Le tartare est juste excellent!! Wir waren nur zu einem Bier und Kaffee da. Alles war perfekt, sehr guter und aufmerksamer Service.

Buen mangé, très belle vue, mais si vous demandez une carafe d’eau ils vous la facturent CHF 4.-, attention je parle d’un 1/2 litre d’eau du robinet. Lorsque j’ai commandé une carafe d’eau, on ne m’a pas averti que c’était payant et le plus terrible c’est qu’on m’a mis d’office 1litre d’eau donc j’ai du payer CHF 8.—. Je trouve scandaleux surtout en ayant consommé du vin au repas et un apéritif auparavant. L’eau était en plus chaude. Une bouteille d’eau minérale fraîche CHF 10.— une des responsables du restaurant est venue en plus me dire « quand c’est comme ça vous restez chez vous! » bravo, félicitations à cette personne très commerciale. Je pensais revenir en famille car l’endroit est magnifique, mais je ne vais surtout pas aller à ce restaurant! Vraiment dommage, tant pis pour eux ☹️

Wir waren trotz Corona willkommen und mit zwei kleinen Buben bestens aufgehoben. Sehr gute Küche.

Seit Jahren isst man in diesem herrlichen Restaurant vorzüglich und zu fairen Preisen. Das Lokal und der Garten sind zudem sehr gepflegt. Die grosse Anzahl an Stammgästen hat schon in der ersten Woche nach Corona-Lockout zu einem grossen Ansturm geführt. Zum Glück hatten wir reserviert.Der Service ist ebenfalls hervorragend. Kurzum: wir werden gerne wieder kommen, wenn wir in dieser herrlichen Gegend sind.

Nous avons mangé dans ce restaurant un soir du mois de mai. La carte est un peu plus light que d'habitude mais pas d'inquiétude, chacun peut y trouver son bonheur. Le tartare était fabuleux et la pièce de viande de veau également ! Le service a été parfait et bilingue français/allemand. Rien à redire, je recommande fortement ce restaurant ! Une belle soirée. La prochaine fois, nous y retournerons plus tôt pour profiter de la belle terrasse.
