The park, the Grün80, is very easy to reach by public transport - both from the city and from the country by tram or bus ("Neue Welt" stop). The restaurant is located near the entrance to the park at the public transport stop. The building has a full service restaurant and one self-service restaurant. The prices are moderate. Children also get their money's worth when it comes to food and even have a separate, small self-service buffet. The salads offered were fresh and crunchy. Since I wasn't sure whether the salad dressings were freshly prepared or ready-made, I made the sauce myself with the oil and vinegar provided. What else you should know: There is a fee to use the toilets. However, the amount paid can be redeemed as a voucher when paying in the restaurant. The use of the toilets by “outsiders” who do not consume anything is restricted. Unfortunately, it is not possible to use the toilet free of charge before leaving the restaurant.

It's understandable that restaurants like this aren't exactly cheap, but charging 1 franc for a toilet is ridiculous... shame on you

Some of the food is way too expensive.

A dinner with 25 business managers and community members with a reserved menu (the vegetarian one was different than reserved) unfortunately became frustrating for everyone. The salad was ok, the main course with ragout was unfortunately very tough, the sauce was great, the polenta was prepared with less creaminess. The dessert and the coffee ok! The fact that we had to pay for the 25th guest who didn't show up because of the terms and conditions was the highlight of a consumption of around 1200.-. The other: The free limit for parking was limited to 90 minutes, which meant that all drivers quickly had to pay 1-2.— more! My consequence: my wife's planned 60th birthday with 60 people will not take place there! This is how you lose your old customers. It's a shame for the staff and the atmosphere

It's a Migros restaurant and therefore not a big hit, but it's on the grounds of the Grün 80 Park and also open on Sundays

This weekend we were at the Seegarten for the fourth time for fondue chinoise à discretion. Really great meat and, unlike other restaurants, you get great additional side dishes such as sweet pickled fruits, pickled and fresh vegetables, mushrooms and numerous delicious sauces. The selection of drinks, aperitifs and open wines also leaves nothing to be desired. The location is cozy and chic, I really like the plant decoration and you have enough distance from the person sitting next to you. Lastly, I also find the staff very friendly and helpful and the gentlemen have a sense of humor, which I particularly like. We'll be back soon!

Disappointed once again, you eat just like that from two o'clock onwards and you're chased out, with more repeated requests. I can't recommend that

The Seegarten restaurant (à la carte restaurant) is now open all day on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, which we took as an opportunity to stop there shortly after 2 p.m. after a rainy winter walk. When we entered the restaurant we were greeted rather unfriendly and the question whether there was something “small” to eat was answered in the negative. The beautifully set tables are reserved for afternoon tea. The question of what tea time would entail remained unanswered, whereupon, despite thoughts of retreat, we sat down in the lounge next to the entrance and asked for a menu. And lo and behold, in addition to an interesting selection of teas, smaller dishes are also offered. Since we really liked the decor of the restaurant and liked the Nordic rye bread slices on offer with fine toppings, we asked if we could sit at a table to eat them. Finally the waiter accompanied us to one of the many free tables. Before we could sit down, the place settings were cleared away and we had to sit at a “bare” table. After placing the order, another waiter came over and set the table again. He apologized and said that afternoon tea was brand new for them too and that we were the first guests to take advantage of this offer. From that moment on, the mood and therefore the service became positive and the service staff like us were able to enjoy a very pleasant and entertaining interlude. The tea selection is good and the quality is very good. The sandwiches are beautifully prepared and extremely tasty. The location is cozy and decorated with lots of plants. A slightly friendlier welcome and the ability to respond to guest questions would have been desirable. Despite these teething problems, we are happy to return to the Seegarten restaurant. Also for dinner.

We were in the self-service restaurant. It was delicious and everything was tidy. It has a great play area for children. Prices normal. You can also sit outside when the weather is nice. The only stupid thing is that you have to pay for toilets. In my opinion, an access code after purchase would make more sense.

Always great food in a very nice atmosphere

We enjoy the absolutely perfect ambience and the very fine New Year's Eve menu. The staff is very professional, an absolutely relaxed atmosphere, and the atmosphere is, as always, really cozy. 👍👍💪It's just really fun. A huge compliment to all of you. Thank you for being there for us.

There were four of us there this evening. From the greeting to the farewell, everything was great. The serving staff and the boss were very friendly and attentive. The food was the finest. Really a restaurant that can be highly recommended. The only deficiency is the sFr. 3.20 (approx. 7 p.m. - approx. 10:15 p.m.) Parking fees, which you have to pay as a guest. This might have to be reconsidered.

The restaurant is more beautiful after the renovation, with lots of green plants. Unfortunately, the food is no longer up to the usual standard. The veal liver seemed crumbly, the rösti tasted like it had been warmed up, the mushroom ravioli made it hard to tell what you were eating and the pulpet breast was dry. There was also not enough curry sauce and the fruit garnish with apples and plums was really poor for a Singaporean. Unfortunately, the kitchen has deteriorated significantly. The icing on the cake came with the so-called canceled parking card, which didn't work... After the traffic jam in front of the barrier was cleared, we were allowed to pay 4 francs for parking (we weren't just 1 car!). Due to the snowfall, it was too slippery to go back to the restaurant from the parking lot late in the evening...

WOW! We made a reservation for 4 people for a Thursday, late in the evening (and turned up way too late - sorry). The kitchen was officially closed when we arrived. Nevertheless, we were warmly welcomed by Günter (without H ;-)) Faust and Luca. The kitchen team (a big thank you to Jule!) resumed their work and treated us to an excellent meal. We felt very welcome, even though the whole team had already finished work. This is how hospitality works in the catering industry. We are thrilled and would love to come back!

Extremely small portions and expensive at the buffet. You eat for around 30 francs and have to pay another 1 franc to go to the toilet.

Sunday brunch not recommended. All in all really bad. It is incredibly bad for vegans, lactose intolerant or gluten intolerant people, the ingredients are not listed anywhere. The price is way too high for what it is. Many things also cost extra, which is not possible for a price of 45.-. In general the food didn't look appetizing at all, just like a normal Migros buffet, just for a lot more money. From 10:30 a.m. the morning buffet was already cleared away and then there was the lunch buffet, which simply didn't look and wasn't tasty at all. When making the reservation, I even asked whether there were plant-based alternatives and was told: "Yes, and otherwise there is Prosecco". Inappropriate answer and also a lie, which included only one glass. It is also extremely loud in the restaurant because it is a family restaurant. You even have to pay 1 Fr. per person for the toilet, just a joke. In summary: really bad and not recommended. If there were 0 stars I would have given 0.

The family restaurant (self-service) is very attractively furnished and is in a very nice (for Basel) environment. What still has a lot of room for improvement is the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the warm food (at least after 2 p.m.). It's very rare that we put food aside despite remaining hungry, but that was the case here.

We cannot recommend the restaurant, even if you report the grievances directly to the management. You are not even taken seriously and are told you should be patient and the staff laughs at the customers. I'm not used to this in Switzerland and especially from Migros. The Sunday brunch at CHF 45.00 is too expensive and, with the children's playground in the restaurant, too loud.

Very friendly and nice service. A great environment and a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere in the Grüner Parkoase. The grill master was very hospitable and a passionate griller and cook who knows his craft and lives his passion. Although I was there with my family for dessert, we got nibbles of fine grilled Anna's, which were flambéed after grilling and seasoned with thyme and sea salt. A symphony of flavors and taste buds. What do you mean it tasted excellent. Thank you very much, we will definitely come to the barbecue evening on Thursday if the weather is good.

We were in the self-service restaurant. In my opinion, prices are far too high: 2 hot chocolates, 1 coffee, 6 sandwiches, 3 sweet drinks (5dl PET) = 50.- The food would be somewhat ok, but the prices spoil the pleasure... Addendum May 2023: Now you have to use sFr. Pay 1.00 to go to the toilet. Although the device was supposed to give change, it only worked with a 1 franc piece. In return you get a 1 voucher for your next consumption in the restaurant. If you want to redeem this receipt at the checkout and you are not as quick as the lady at the checkout, you will be rudely attacked verbally, telling you that you are showing the receipt too late and that you can no longer withdraw the receipt. Even though the return money hasn't been given yet! When asked whether the receipt cannot be canceled and the receipt can be deducted, the impatient answer is that the receipt cannot be canceled. Secure? At the parking garage ticket office you pay for the time spent in the parking lot: sFr 1.- per hour. Paid and drove to the barrier: The barrier opens automatically, a "wink smilie" appears on the display with the text: "Free exit today." With the fact that there is nothing at the checkout, you let the visitors pay and then this text: Actually a mockery! My last visit to the Migros Restaurant!!! Actually there should be zero stars!

It was fabulous. Our pampering team G. Faust and Dirk were incredible: humorous, discreet (absolutely not intrusive) always checking to see if we were okay...I'll eat there again, BUT only if these two angels are there. It was really an experience in a perfect, beautiful atmosphere...Happy birthday to the whole team, the food was also a hit.

We really liked the restaurant with its seasonal cuisine. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was beautifully designed. Afterwards we enjoyed a walk in the beautiful Grün80 grounds. Overall, an all-round successful experience that we would happily recommend.

I love going for a walk to Grün80 and treating myself to something in the Seegarten Restaurant. Today I came a little later than usual and was a little disappointed. We came to the restaurant at 6:45 p.m. and wanted to have a drink and some soft ice cream. But the machine had already been cleaned and switched off. Then we wanted to reorient ourselves. Then I thought of a strawberry cake. But that too had already been cleared away. I understand that you want to finish work on time. But the fact that you can see that the tarts are in the cart and will probably be taken away for disposal, I really don't think that's right. You should pay the staff until around 7:30 p.m. so that they can leave everything there until closing time so that as little as possible is thrown away.

On the edge of the green oasis in Basel, a very pleasant opportunity to relax and have a little something to eat or drink. Courteous service and clean toilets.

The Seegarten im Park restaurant in Grünen is highly recommended. However, it must be taken into account that we were only in the self-service section. There are very fine and delicious things at a fair price. The beautiful and large terrace must also be mentioned. It's just nice to just have nature in front of you. Be sure to take a walk through the park before or after eating. It is worth it .. If you haven't had enough, there's also mini golf. The parking lot for Fr. 1.00 per hour is also great.

We had dinner at Seegarten for a birthday party. The reception did not take place. We were only told the reserved table. The menu came quickly, but the aperitif took longer. Waiters all only spoke standard German. Orders were taken and everyone was asked if they could have a soup or salad in advance. Staff is pretty sales focused. It took a good 50 minutes for the food to arrive. Food was overall okay. Zander was good, veal slices/rösti were unfortunately dry and almost cold. Leberli/Madeire sauce was okay but also almost cold. Grand Cru pastured pork was good. After the meal it was quickly cleared away. The request for a dessert menu took a long time, after which the order was taken again with a strong focus on sales. Only a few desserts were ordered. The coffee came after 15 minutes, dessert after about 30 minutes. A pity!! There wasn't a lot going on that evening. An estimated 20% of the tables were occupied. For us the waiting time was the most unpleasant. We don't know why it took so long. We were in the restaurant for over 4 hours for a simple meal. It's also annoying when saying goodbye: you can have your parking card stamped. However, only the first 1.5 hours are free for restaurant visitors. Incomprehensible and stingy to me. Either parking is completely free for restaurant visitors or paying completely would be in my opinion. better and more understandable. So it seems kind of stingy. After all, we are not in the Migros supermarket but in the Migros restaurant. The prices are in the middle range. On average for a menu around Fr. 30 to 42 (without starter or dessert and drinks). Overall, the food was okay, not a highlight but not bad either. The slow service is annoying. The parking card solution is a bit immature, the prices in relation to the quality: a bit expensive. The competition makes a better impression for similar services. Overall 3 🌟 stars.

Excele Attention food is Megnifica, the Best one

Cozy (Migros) restaurant with a view of the lake and the park. The food is ok to good. The prices are rather a bit higher. You can sit inside or outside here. If you want to eat here in peace and quiet, you definitely have to come at times when it's not overcrowded. Or you can go to the Seerose restaurant opposite. You eat very well here - but it's a real restaurant and not a "take-away" like the Seegarten restaurant. Toilets are located in the lower part of the building.

From the moment you walk in, you are enveloped in a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. We were in a self-service restaurant. Staff was friendly. The food was good. I don't think the prices are particularly family-friendly. What I didn't like was that the dining tables, floor and children's chairs were very dirty.

We had a very tasty brunch and the service was great! For the fifth star from me, there is an urgent need for more meat-free dishes, for example on the grill there are none except fries. You have to keep up with the times and needs a little.

As beautifully presented as the food is, it tastes mediocre. Sometimes less would be more. All credit to the creativity of the chefs, but ice cream that tastes like smoke with basil sauce? Sorry, that was just disgusting. I can only positively emphasize the efforts of 2 of the 3 waiters, who were very friendly and accommodating. Out of decency, I'd rather not say anything about waiter number 3...

5 people at lunchtime without a reservation seemed to be too much for the staff. Our waiter in charge was stressed, unfriendly and his process seemed more important to him than answering our questions. It took about 20 minutes between the starter and the main course and when it was served we had to point out three times that ketchup and mayonnaise were missing. 2 out of 5 dishes arrived cold & when we expressed our concerns to the waiter in charge, he looked for excuses & wanted to explain himself, even though we weren't the only ones complaining about something.. Summary: Food nothing special & overpriced for what you are served & shown. We didn't feel comfortable.

I really like the "new" water lily. The ambience with the lounge corners is great! I'm referring to the self-service restaurant: the food from the counter is unfortunately not that appetizing...greasy hash browns from the bag. The desserts are great though.

Part of the restaurant advertises itself as a “family restaurant”. Unfortunately you can't get to the toilets with a stroller to change the baby. It doesn't have an elevator! I would have had to leave the stroller upstairs unattended and walk down the slippery stairs (due to rain) with my child in my arms. Afterwards I would have to have coins ready for the coin machine in order to even get into the toilet area. When I asked an employee if there was a lift, she said I should ask the à la carte restaurant if I could go in and use the lift. The à la carte restaurant was closed at this time. I finally left the restaurant and changed my baby at home! It's a shame that a "family restaurant" isn't set up to be family-friendly!

Great service staff. Nice facility. Unfortunately, the meat in the Fondue Chinoise wasn't a hit. The quality of the portion of meat ordered was poor.

After a long time we visited the restaurant again, the occasion was a birthday dinner. The reception was very friendly, we were escorted to the table and a short time later the menu was brought to us. The aperitif came quickly and the advice was extremely good. Our waiter D.S. accompanied us throughout the evening, made great recommendations and provided great service. The food (nut salad, beef tartare, cordon bleu, veal liver with Madeira sauce and the Basler Ratsherrentopf) was very good and we will remember the evening for a long time. With the tartare we were still missing some cognac, which we ordered more and completed the dish. We would put that on the map :). We were very positively surprised and can really only recommend the restaurant. We would like to come again. Thank you for the great experience.
