The entrance is a bit difficult to find, but inside a beautiful and exciting world opens up to you with a super friendly owner. The food is authentic and you'll be full. Great experience.

Interesting dishes, very tasty, mixed variations available. The slightly sour "flatbread" is also available gluten-free, so that all guests get their money's worth. Small and fine selection of exotic beers. The preparation of the dish takes a while, but the eye and stomach are rewarded handsomely, and overall it looks authentic. Extremely courteous service, very personable. Ambience: difficult to describe, you have to see it. Seems genuine to me. Unfamiliar and somewhat unusual (e.g. chair covers), but also worth an experience for that very reason. Top recommendation for someone who is looking for something more unconventional near Aarau, will come again.

At the beginning I was afraid that it wouldn't be enough. That was pure misconception, the portions are very good and for the price it's just crazy. The first impression from outside might alert you, but once you're inside you'll realize it is reassuring. Nothing like a typical Swiss 'sponte' but that is the charm of it. There is a lot of passion in the restaurant, Senay explained the culture and traditions to us. The food was very varied, healthy and super tasty. I was so excited that I'm now giving away vouchers for the Senay for Christmas.

I came across this restaurant by chance with a group of friends and it was a stroke of luck. We didn't order from the menu for dinner but the kitchen served specialties on a platter for just 25.00 per person. Both the vegetarian and the meat platters were extremely tasty and varied. The portion sizes were more than enough even for us as good eaters. The service was very friendly and tried to make sure we had a pleasant evening. There is nothing left to say other than that I can definitely recommend this restaurant.

Very fine Eritrean/Ethiopian food and super friendly service. We know the cuisine well and have already visited various restaurants, we will definitely come back to Senay. We picked up our food on Sunday afternoon. The waiting time was just OK, but we didn't pre-order anything, so it would certainly have been quicker. The Vegi Special contains many different components, all of which tasted excellent, the portion size was generous and there was enough injera included. The spiciness was perfect for us, but you have to like a certain spiciness (if you want a mild meal, avoid the red lentils). Thank you for the lovely dinner and see you next time :)

The food was amazing and an experience! A special highlight is that the sourdough flatbread is based on teff/dwarf millet and is therefore naturally gluten-free. I recommended it straight away and would be happy to come back.

As we all know, it's best where the locals eat themselves. Extremely friendly staff. The host gave us good advice and put together a “bit of everything” plate for us beginners. There is local beer and traditional coffee after the meal. The dog was also welcome and received a bowl of water.

I am an Ethiopian and know Ethiopian food very well! I went to Senay Restaurant with my Swiss Colleagues. I loved the food and the environment. It made me feel at home. And the YUMMY food at Senay Restaurant is real Ethiopian/Eritrean food. It tastes amazing, the hospitality made us feel like we were welcomed into a close relative's home. Will definitely come again!!!

Very good service, everyone was very nice and benevolent. The chef asked for further requests. The food was very tasty, they explain the different dishes. It can also be eaten gluten-free. Lots of specialties - including schnapps at the end. ;-) Senay even took us into town by car. Simply great - we'll be back. Are excited. 😁

Great food, 4 of us ordered two plates with different side dishes, it was very uncomplicated and the food was super tasty. I think eating food with your hands is really cool. We tried beer from Ethiopia and it was really good. There is also a shop where you can buy Erythraean and Ethiopian products. The service was great. Shots on the house. The owner offers us transport to the city which we gratefully accept. We'd love to come back!!!!
