Soï - Thaï Canteen in Genève

The idea of ​​small dishes to share is good but the prices are high for tiny portions. The music inside is South American music (reggaeton). The only thing that resembles Thailand is the food which is good and which is Thai food. Plastic chairs on aluminum tables, the canteen aspect is very present. In the end the time I spent there wasn't too bad and I liked the food, the price was still way too expensive for what it was. I wish them good luck and all the best, the service was good.

For a quick dinner before the theater for two, the menu is simple and very clear. The service is fast and attentive, and the simple and elegant setting is reminiscent of the small restaurants of Bangkok. The dishes are very tasty and also evoke Bangkok street food. A more than pleasant place, whether in the evening or at midday.

Fantastic thai food! At Soi you get a real taste of what Thailand has to offer, away from your red/green curries. Everything is good, tasty and so well executed. At Soi, you will immediately travel to Bangkok to the best street hawkers as well as more sophisticated recipes. Would love to cook with the chef one day! Service is superb. Only issue is the ventilation that is not good. So far i have not been to a better Thai place than this one on Switzerland and I am a thai food lover...

We wanted to try Thai cuisine and among the evening proposals there was this restaurant. We were not completely satisfied as some dishes on the menu were missing and the rest of the dishes ordered, in my opinion, all had the same flavour, in some cases super spicy, in others with spices present in every dish. The atmosphere is not the best, table and chairs not very comfortable. Good service. High price compared to the quality

Excellent Thai and Vietnamese dishes, with plenty of choices. Particularly enjoyed the Papaya Salad, the Tom Yum (vegan) soup and the Thai Iced Tea. Clearly marked vegetarian options, friendly service and lovely, casual vibe inside.

The food was so good! Must visit if you are looking for a Thai place with a great vibe.

Context: booked the day before for a group of 8 for the 8:30 service. You have to pick a set discovery menu at 50 CHF / head for groups starting from 8 people (excluding drinks). Our contact asked us 1) if we wished to have veggie options thrown in the mix along with deserts to have the full experience - which we went for and 2) how spicy we wanted things. Service: extremely fast, pleasant and qualitative despite the busy atmosphere (also some of us arrived quite late and they were very accommodating. Food: we pretty much had everything on the menu I think and there wasn’t a single thing left on our plate when we left. Everything had a lot of flavour and taste. Space: you sit on small tools, and the place can be quite buzzing at the weekend so it’s appropriate for a quick dinner / bite with friends, probably not so much for a romantic dinner. If you like Thai street food, give it a go. And thank you to the team. We’ll be coming back 🥢

A very lovely spot, as they say a hidden gem. You can order a lot of the things on the menu for sharing as it’s the best way to And the tum yum soup was one of the best I ever had in my life it’s a must have,,, They also have a nice vegetarian tofu as an option

Great thai food and very authentic. Portions on the small side - I needed three dishes as two wouldn’t have been enough. Could have eaten four to be honest.

Restaurant more than full, we still find a free table. The order placed and more than 1 hour of waiting, our 2 tiny salads arrive and we are told that unfortunately our ordered dishes are no longer available, if we want something else instead, it is almost 10 p.m. so we decide to grab our takeaway and leave. Not a word of apology, not even a small commercial gesture in the end 34.50 francs for 2 tiny salads and a green tea (which was brought to us 30 minutes after the order). I will never go to this restaurant again.

I don't understand how some customers could write in the comments that the prices were too expensive... (??). On the contrary, I found authentic dishes (really authentic for once) cheap and well served. I asked for extra noodles which I was not charged for. It's true that the waiters/waitresses were a little "speedy" but hey, that's normal isn't it when you're in the middle of the midday boom?! And I asked questions, I made requests... I got all my answers😄. It was the first time I went there (last week) and it certainly won't be the last. I was married to a Thai man, I lived there and I know this country and its gastronomy very well and I can assure you that it was as if I was there. They pushed the detail to the point of having us sit on red plastic stools around tables whose tablecloth and sauce containers are exactly the same as you find in all the small restaurants in Thailand. But above all: Finally a Thai restaurant that does not put peppers in its dishes but real Thai vegetables! My favourite Thai restaurant in Geneva. They serve Thai street food and quite different than the other Thai resto in GVA. You can share the menu with your friends so the more the merrier. The food is delicious, the ambience is great (it’s crowded and noisy, just like when you’re eating street food in Thailand. It just miss some noise from the tuk tuk passing by 😁) , and the service is great (shout out to energetic and always friendly Morgane). Make sure to check out their daily plat du jour. Worth every penny 😉 My only complain is why are you guys deciding to close on Saturday lunch time? 😆

Small Thai “bistro”, very nice. Pretty terrace. Reception a little speedy, but good. The real plus, and that’s what we’re looking for; exquisite and authentic flavors. Refined!!! I love this restaurant, it's one of my favorites in Geneva to have a good time with friends or for a tête a tête. The place is very friendly with its own street food style. The staff is very welcoming. The food is excellent and of very good quality. I highly recommend to try the homemade sausage and the beef salad which are my favorite dishes ❤️. Not to be missed if you like good food and authentic place.

Yes, we got the last table when we walked in😁. Loved the food, the good-looking woman ( lot of tattoos) who was kindly to serve us. As I was in Thailand before. This comes really close to the real Deal,🥰😍🍜. Me and my friend ordered different dishes. The rice 🍚 would be enough for two. We had a great laugh/time here after our full relaxing day in Geneva (lunch / Hamam). As dessert we took Grandmother's coconut icecream 🍦🍨 it was delicious 🤤. Such a great restaurant!! Thank you 🙏🏼

Really amazing and authentic Thai food. They don’t tone down the spiciness, which is greatly appreciated! I recommend you to order the cha yen if you’re going to order something spicy. It’s evident they use really fresh ingredients. Portions may look little but believe me they do satisfy you. (i actually returned for lunch the day after the great dinner i had)

For me the best Thai in Geneva!! All the dishes are exceptional, especially the desserts (I have all three every time!) The quantities are sufficient. Special mention for the whole team! Great welcome, they are very patient, explaining and recommending the dishes. The manager listens to customers, he came to our table several times to see if everything was going well.

Great authentic tastes but beware of the small portions for some of the dishes! I particularly liked the grilled pork neck and tomyum. Probably can skip the coconut ice cream- it was a little too sweet and there was little coconut flavour. Overall still a good place for some Thai food if you are craving for it!

It’s always a pleasure to go and eat there, a real culinary journey that immerses you in Thailand. I love and recommend this address!

Hugely disappointing! After years of excellent street food dishes, Soi dishes are now drowned in the same super spicy sauce. The taste of one dish is the taste of all! I won't look back... there are still good places in the neighbourhood. So long Soi!

Great welcome from the staff, available and good advice... we ate very well, the flavors were there, in fact the quantities are not gargantuan and you have to have 2 dishes to be satisfied which increases the bill but we passed a great time! thank you… to do again on a next stay in Geneva!

Best Thai restaurant I've eaten at outside of Thailand. Authentic taste without compromises or Westernization (aside from the ice cream, however with coconut milk and mango and peanuts which is amazing) and formidable quality of the raw materials. Wine cellar with a truly surprising selection of natural wines. The portions are street food. The three of us shared 5, plus an ice cream each.

I felt like I was traveling to Thailand for a meal... ❤️ I really rediscovered the spirit of Thai street food, dishes where everyone “picks” what they want to eat from the decor (the colorful oilcloth tablecloths, the small baskets where cutlery, napkins, etc. are grouped together) One of the only restaurants that serves “crying tiger” in Geneva! Special mention for the hand spray which I loved, I don't know what's in it but my hands no longer stick, as if I had just washed them 😂 The staff is nice and friendly, the food is delicious... In short, I had a perfect evening!

Incredible, the flavors of Thailand partly from the North, authentic tastes and original decor. The service is great and so are the drinks. Of course we are in Switzerland and the prices are accordingly and we have to have several small dishes that we share. At lunchtime, top daily special, well served and “cheap” After many comments mention the prices but be careful the ingredients are of quality, local as far as possible. It's certain that if we go to eat Brazilian chicken in the local bouiboui it's not the same price (and again) but it's neither the same experience nor the same quality.

Disappointed by the concept, for a restaurant that wants to offer Thai street food cuisine...Basically it's only in the name of the restaurant because the dishes are good but ridiculous costing 16chf.- for 3 small chicken skewers placed on a leaf of salad with two carrots to that add 3 dishes minimum to be satisfied and at this price you wonder if you had better time to go to a Thai gastronomy because the prices are exorbitant! I forgot the rice is not included in the price so added 5chf.-/portion. I will not return to this place.

Amazing venue! Food was exceptional but a bit on the expensive side. Wine was surprisingly delicious and affordable. Manager was welcoming and very knowledgeable about wine in general and the restaurant's particularly selection. As an avid consumer of natural wines, I was surprised how much he knew. Soi is THE Thai restaurant! The flavors are the same as in Thailand and the dishes take us on a journey to both sides of the country. There are certain dishes that you cannot find in any other Thai restaurant in Geneva, such as Chiang Mai sausage. There are some great taste discoveries to be made. Be careful, because it's like in the country! There's a lot of chili! You have to ask a little less forcefully if you don't like it! We came to celebrate my mother's birthday for some family time. We were pleasantly welcomed by the manager of the establishment (a handsome guy). We ate really well. HANDS DOWN BEST RESTAURANT IN GENEVA!! Real spicy Laab Moo with a Nam Manao soda and finish off with Mango sticky rice you can't go wrong :) This place is magical !

It seems like two or three raw vegetables running around, accompanied by a portion for children aged 6 to 18.- works given the comments. At least make the effort to reheat your food. Apart from “the setting” there is absolutely nothing extraordinary. People eat more of a concept than anything else. Customer service is almost non-existent. In short, you are exactly the type of establishment that jeopardizes the visibility of real Thai brands. Your only strong point, without a doubt, is your marketing side.

A unique place and cuisine! Well done. We recently enjoyed the special "Valentine's Day" takeaway menu. A real joy. For the space of a meal we were, once again, transported to Thailand. The dishes and flavors offered not only stimulated our taste buds, but also allowed us to imagine ourselves on a terrace, on the banks of the Chao Phraya river, in a warm evening, as we know them in this season, in Bangkok.
