Very idyllic restaurant with charm in the "Alpine Chick Style" and fine cheese dishes🧀, large fondue selection and raclette cheese from Renzo Blumenthal! Nice service and friendly welcome from the boss himself😊....not exactly cheap prices, but the price/performance ratio is right!! Definitely worth a visit if you are in the Lucerne area....😉

Great restaurant, in a cozy atmosphere. The food is great, homemade Cordon Bleu. East is a bit difficult to find, but it will definitely work with the navigation system. Price-wise a bit expensive. In summer the terrace is also very interesting for a drink. Overall, I liked it very much.

Underestimated Fondue restaurant. One of my favourites of Switzerland.

Good evening We came over spontaneously today. Despite the place being full, we still got a table for six people. The service employee had the first day and did a great job. The employees are all very friendly. The ambience is breathtaking and well thought out. Now about the food. I'm a chef myself and tend to be critical. Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. The plates are high quality. The only reason why I can't give the kitchen 5 stars is because there is always potential for improvement but I also think that the fondue portion could be a little bigger. But that's really the only thing I would want. But only because it is very good😉 Best regards

Hearty chalet, comfortable to sit inside, especially in winter. Cheese fondue and raclette were very tasty. The prices were a bit more expensive.

Great concept and cool idea. The perfect place in winter. I didn't find the reaction to no-show reservations really customer-friendly. After the pandemic, we learned that there can be health-related changes... and we should slowly be able to show some tolerance.

Beautifully made wooden chalet! Service was great despite being understaffed. We felt very comfortable. The salads for starters were very good. The fondue was very tasty and the homemade pickled pears were especially great. Definitely recommended, especially in winter!

We had our Christmas dinner in the restaurant today, the food was great and the staff were very friendly. I felt very comfortable, the waiting times were a little delayed but it was mainly because there were a lot of us. Super nice staff.

You can get the best Chäs fondue (we had champagne truffle) here, in the Chäs Chalet on the outskirts of Lucerne. Overlooking snow-capped mountains. A huge wooden terrace and a cozy Alpine chic in the chalet The homemade cordon bleu and the Zürcher Geschnetzeltes were just as delicious as we were told. There are also fine schnapps (e.g. Rochelt) and dessert. Gladly again and again! Thank you very much!

Always a pleasure in the Stadtalp. We were a group of 15 people and were able to comfortably enjoy the aperitif and the fine 3-course menu outside. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, we were mainly served by Luan, he has a sense of humor and does a really great job. Many thanks to the entire Stadtalp team and Mr. Jenni for the uncomplicated planning of the menus. We would love to come back!

We were looking for a restaurant that served fondue to stop at for an early dinner on our drive from the lake Lucerne back to Basel and found this one randomly by Googling - and we're so glad we did! As it was a rainy day we wanted to be able to park outside the restaurant - there was plenty of space outside. The restaurant is in the style of a chalet - we felt like we should be skiing in the Alps. And most importantly, we had fondue and can't recommend it highly enough, delicious and lots of it - perfect! The staff are friendly, attentive and multi lingual.

This comment will not give me my money back but I want to leave my opinion. We booked 3 1/2 months ago because it is often full. Reservation taken, we arrived at the restaurant to be told ''it's full because there is an event'' and our name was not even displayed on the reservations list. The restaurant was barely full (there were still a lot of tables left) Although we insisted, we were still able to get a place. Fondue ok but for the price too bad no salad or potatoes INCLUDED IN THE PRICE. We ask to dine inside to eat our fondue in the chalet and we are put outside on the terrace in full sun. Surprise on the bill: 15€/person more because we were at the evening of the restaurant event (concert). However, no musicians on stage at this time... Paying 109 Swiss francs for a classic beer, a fanta, a fondue for two with just a basket of small pieces of bread... next time I'll think more about it. In any case, everyone who reads me will be able to see that you attack everyone who left a comment that is certainly negative but more than honest. Also, I never received your email. Never heard music other than a Spotify playlist. Anyway... another tourist trap

A very nice restaurant in a ski hut atmosphere. The food is delicious and plentiful. The service staff is very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately the restaurant is in the middle of a very ugly area.

Went there today and had a horrible experience. Servers were very rude, snobby, and un attentive. I’m not sure if it’s because we only spoke English and are tourists, but I would never come back to this place.

We will remember our visit to this beautiful alp. Why? Because everything fits here. And by that I mean everything. First there is a very cozy guest room with a beautiful terrace attached. The staff are all incredibly friendly and live their role as hosts wholeheartedly. There is no cooking in the Alpine kitchen, there is magic. No matter whether it was the tartare first or our beef like the cordon bleu with Bündnerfleisch, it was outstanding. The desserts also left nothing to be desired. We felt very comfortable. Our winter vacation is already booked. We'll come back and then try the fondue. We're already looking forward to that today. What should also be mentioned is the cleanliness in the guest room and the toilets. The Alp is also very family-friendly. Children and dogs are very welcome. My partner took two portions of Älplermagronen home with him as take-away today. They were far and away the best Älplermagronen that we were ever able to eat☺️ Price and performance in a nutshell, chapeau! We are already looking forward to our visit to the restaurant 👍

Original and unexpected restaurant opposite the HSLU. Top service, good food in a nice atmosphere. Lovingly prepared food with small details that are impressive. An insider tip that is worth hanging on the big bell. Will definitely go again and bring guests.

Was excited to come, but upon arrival the owner was rude and food was salty. This is no surprise now after reading comments.

Super welcoming place, I had dinner with the family and the atmosphere as well as the food was perfect... the only sore point is the bill, 9 CHF for 75 cl of water and 1/2 l of bulk still red wine 40 CHF ( it was a very good 14% Tuscan Italian wine) but there is no proportion! Conclusion everything was perfect but the average Italian income does not include a single course dinner and 1 drink for CHF 50 per person!

Very well presented alpine hut on the outskirts of the city of Lucerne. Seems totally authentic. A must for all Lucerne residents and visitors. The unique raclette you can spread on the table yourself - really brilliant. You simply feel comfortable here, also thanks to the friendly operating staff.

Warm, cozy furnishings Atmosphere ok. The serving daughters make an effort to fulfill all wishes. Raclette and dessert were really delicious! Unfortunately we had to wait a long time for our main course, 1.5 hours, even though we expressed all our wishes via email about who we wanted to eat! Since we were all full, it wasn't possible to cancel desserts like ice cream, which was a shame!

Great host with a beautiful location. We were able to celebrate a birthday here. We grilled in the fire bowl on the terrace. The meals were very tasty and rich. They had something to say about all the products.

Top alpine chic. However, it is not suitable for relaxing indoors (more intended for eating). A look at the menu: in the upper price segment. In the Hauskafi (service didn't even know that this was on the menu) there was hardly any schnapps available and the price was rather high.

Yesterday we were looking (while passing through Switzerland) for a restaurant that offers cheese fondue. I called the restaurant to ask if there was still room and if there was already cheese fondue in the restaurant. We were told that they were “only” offering three different flavors at the moment. I say “only” because I think three different varieties are a lot. The cheese fondue was very tasty. The waitress even gave us the wine we wanted to order by bottle to taste. My girlfriend and I were there last Saturday and definitely not the last time!! Had tarte flambée as a starter and afterwards a beef tartare Sonnentanz which was super good!! and Älplermagronen (also really tasty). The service was great, we only had to wait a little longer when paying, but there were also a lot of people!! Feel free to come by again!

Great experience! I agree with the comments already posted, I ate by far the best fondue of my life. I highly recommend it to anyone passing through Lucerne. Concerning the setting, the restaurant has parking which is very convenient to get there by car. The decoration is tasteful, the terrace is large enough and allows you not to be close to other customers. The staff cares about you throughout the meal without overdoing it. I wouldn't hesitate to go back!

Nice restaurant, harmoniously furnished. The starter salad was great. The main course took a long time to arrive >1h. The tartare was beautifully prepared, unfortunately ordering the toast twice didn't work. Because of the long wait, we had to rush away just after eating to reach our connection. Modern and urban outside, cozy and romantic inside. The service staff is trained to welcome and serve guests like kings! The dogs are also served, right from the start with a large bowl full of cold water. The food looks and tastes a real dream and is always worth a visit! The spirits are definitely recommended, especially the apricot schnapps is absolutely worth its hefty price! The only disadvantage of the Stadtalp is that at some point you'll be so full that you can't possibly eat or drink more. 😉😉😉
