Stern in Chur

We had a lovely dinner at the Restaurant, the food was very tasteful, Alessia ( Alisia) our waitress was very friendly, fun and charming. We got a tiny little table, that was the only negative thing- if you are tall tell them when you make the reservation. ☺️

Went to the restaurant last Saturday evening. Price is very high for the portion. And unfortunately the hunger was not satisfied either. It was very busy in the restaurant and there were sometimes long waiting times.

We spent good a time with excellent food, service and atmosphere. The menu is adapted to the local and regional produces, with some very typical food from Graubunden. Try the Bundner Trilogie of Capuns, Maluns and Pizzocheri, a very good portion and very satisfying taste

Food was good but I've eaten better in the Veltiner Stube. But I will come again.

A recommendation and possibly worth a detour. Great food, a lovely atmosphere (especially outside and in summer) and exceptional service (Alessia is a real ray of sunshine). We had a lovely evening and would love to come back.

We were there with a tour group so we only ate dinner there a few times. We were given a choice of menu the food was excellent and the beer was cold. What more can one ask for , last but not least the staff were accommodating and friendly.

Generally the service was friendly and the main course was delicious. Nevertheless, upon arrival we were informed that the table reservation for the terrace was no longer valid and that we would have to sit inside. I discovered a hair in the amuse bouche, which was then cleared away with an apology, but there was no other response. When the coffee was forgotten and there was no real response to any of the other errors, we were already disappointed. Mistakes happen, that's not a big deal. But if they even manage to offer a dessert in the cinema restaurant just because the coffee took a little longer, I expect an appropriate reaction in the white-roofed restaurant with a bill of almost CHF 200. A pity.

The Stern Romantik Hotel/Restaurant is perfect for a nice time for two, but also nice for groups, the ambience, the decoration/furnishings are special, have a lot to offer, very warm and cozy. The food is also very good. I liked it best with my girlfriend. The rooms are very stylish, welcoming, special. Go to the Hotel Stern with your partner to eat and... sleep

The waitress had a sense of humor and was helpful. What was very remarkable was that she didn't write down the order for 15 people and everything arrived at the table as ordered. She was also available for a group photo.

Spontaneous lunch for two. Beautiful restaurant, veal liver and veal & beef medallion with side dishes and roast jus at its best. The very nice lady who served us put the crown on the visit 👑. Conclusion: It couldn't be better!

Many thanks to the restaurant. We had a wonderful time with you this evening with a very good culinary experience. We both chose the 3 course surprise menu, 1x land and 1x water. Both were sensational and the portions were generous and pleasant. We also chose a bottle of wine, for which we received very friendly and knowledgeable advice and this wine really went perfectly with both dishes. The service was very friendly, courteous, attentive and genuinely friendly from all sides. We felt completely comfortable and welcome. Thank you for that. The location is traditional, very clean, pleasant noise and has enough space to enjoy undisturbed and also have more private conversations. The prices are very fair and I will happily recommend the restaurant and come back myself.

After the morning of shopping in Chur, we had lunch in the Stübli at Restaurant Stern. The food was simply very good from A to Z. Highly recommended is the “beef tartare” which is served with a special, warm house bread. My wife ate this as an appetizer and loved it. For the main course we had beef fillet strips "Stroganoff" with quark spaetzli and the Churer Rats classic "veal and beef medallion with pizokel". We had nothing to complain about about the entire meal as it was simply perfect, I personally love the pizokel at Stern. Hospitality is very important to us and we can only compliment the entire Stern crew, they are incredibly friendly, courteous, attentive and precise. The only thing that could be noted is that the tables in the Stübli are placed a little closer together, so it tends to be a little louder than elsewhere (but it depends on the guests anyway and how loudly they chat), at least it didn't bother us But it just doesn't suit everyone if it's a little louder. To sum up, in our opinion Stern is clearly one of the best restaurants in Chur. Thank you very much dear Stern team and we will definitely be back in December.

What an experience! It started with our amazing waiter and then I got myself drag into the autumn chefs menu. Just phenomenal! Every dish super tasty and elaborated. Top top!!!

Nice location and place but the food is not worth anything! Lots of demands for dishes that are bathed in butter and fat and have little flavour. At least the waiters are friendly. But the bill is not as kind!

Ended up here on the recommendation of my hotel... I'm thrilled... starting with the rustic dining room, lots of space between the tables, through the very friendly and extremely attentive service to a very delicate meal. I had barley soup, with so much flavor that it was a shame to leave even a little bit in the bowl. The wine selection included one of my favorite wines, Nebbiolo from Piedmont. The venison that followed was cooked to perfection and the sauce had so many nuances that I certainly couldn't find them all. And thanks to my praise, some of it was added later. At the end I just chose a scoop of chocolate brownie ice cream and that was also of first quality. Summary... perfect food in a cozy atmosphere with great service.

At the Stern restaurant you eat well, the prices are medium-high and the portions rather small. I took the Churer Ratsherren-Teller, a meat-based dish with some kind of pasta, vegetables and sauces. Well presented and tasted good. The mixed salad not received, a ridiculously small dish that priced at 9 francs is a steal. Salad, main course and 33cl beer for 60 francs. If you are hungry, go elsewhere, but if you want to have a chat while eating in a quiet environment and you don't have budget problems, the place is worth a visit. Good expensive food and small portions. Quiet and welcoming place.

We have been guests at the restaurant for over 40 years, always with our dog. Unfortunately, we can no longer eat with them as dogs have recently been banned.

Was a 5-star rating in summer 2019; now down to 2-stars (service personnel seems “lost” and overwhelmed, rather unfriendly, ordered 2dl of the local wine and got filled around 1.25dl in the caraffe, still charged 2dl though. No questions asked on how the meal was or if there are any further wishes, they just throw the dessert menu to you unasked). Amuse bouch: Just put on the table, no comments or explanations. The bread / butter which was very special a year ago got replaces by some cheap of the shelf stuff. Very sad, we were so much looking forward to come again since our last visit was perfect and now harshly got disappointed.

The things I ordered on the menu were nicely prepared and were always served warm. We also think the prices are absolutely fair. find the inn contemporary for all kinds of events - regardless of whether they are with a partner, acquaintances or relatives. Really quick and polite service. I think that the entire staff there did a harmonious job.

Without exaggeration, best dining experience in 15 years in Switzerland. Pros - Cozy, warm ambiance. Great service and choice of generous dishes for all tastes. Cons - Starter (Grison dried meat and cheese plate). It is for 2p and not cheap at all. Here i would suggest that the menu clearly explains the type of meats to be served. When one partner does not eat porc meat, it is not then fun to have a starter for 2 :)Again the cheese as side dish here was a poor choice. We were served rather with kind of not too tasty cheese sort. Maybe it is worth to replace the cheese have today with a vintage Engadin hard cheese ;) Overall, great place to dine.

So actually a gutrs restaurant with everything that goes with it, good food, good wine, good dishes, friendly service from the team. 2 topics lead to negative points: Minus 1 for the appetizer being too simple for the price Minus 3 for one of the waitresses who not only treated and served us strangely but also all 5 surrounding guests.

Literally the most epic meal and one of the best I've ever eaten. Totally WOW. I felt everything was beyond great. The starters were well presented and tasty, the main was out of this world. The staff were very friendly and the drinks we were directed to were absolutely to my taste. This was my first swiss dining experience and the absolute pleasure at every bite. I cant recommend this place highly enough. Well done. If I could give it 6 stars I would.
