Friendly staff Food not particularly delicious but reasonably priced

Today I was with a group at the Sternen restaurant. I had a caprese salad as a starter, served with fine pizza dough bread, a cordon bleu as a main course and a chocolate souffle as a dessert. Was a good portion and well cooked. The Efes beer wasn't bad either. Fits, you probably can't compare it with the old host.

The restaurant is located on the road from Egerkingen to Bärenwil/Langenbruck in the upper part of the village. There are enough parking spaces available. The kitchen conjures up something to suit every taste, from traditional dishes to seasonal highlights. Menus are also offered at lunchtime. The reception and service are friendly and competent. Customer requests are gladly taken into account and the order is adjusted accordingly. Beautifully prepared plates leave the kitchen here. We didn't have to wait long even though there were a few guests present during our visit. The prices for the food are moderate and absolutely fair! I can only recommend a visit to the new Sternen! Hospitality is lived and offered here. We will definitely come back!! Thank you!

Nice setting but what a smoke from the customer. Yuck yuck. Friendly welcome like someone who is going to defraud the customer. Dessert ordered from a photo on the menu card but I was served something completely different, explaining to me, trying to get me to swallow, that the chef had changed the presentation. So I didn't receive what I ordered. When paying, the waitress "forces" you to pay in euros and there is no possibility of paying in Swiss francs with my credit card, which nevertheless offers me the alternative. Absolutely avoid.

Dear restaurant visitors, dear restaurant visitors Through my experience as a chef in Zermatt, in the gourmet area, I was given the great opportunity to explore the versatility and creativity that gastronomy offers and to develop my knowledge of this passion. I would simply like to use this foreword to say that fine cuisine should not be a benchmark compared to a farmer's kitchen, village restaurant or family business in general. I also became aware of the Sternen restaurant through the TV show Bumann. Since I often travel in this region, I was completely unaware that this restaurant existed as it is not directly on the main road. Thanks to the broadcast on television, I had three seats reserved for this evening shortly afterwards. Most people probably think that we are visiting as test eaters...I definitely lack the motivation for such behavior on a low level. During the broadcast I was so impressed by Stefan's fighting spirit and willpower that I couldn't wait to see this warm and friendly team live. And we were welcomed in exactly this hospitable way, with radiant service staff, in a rustic and clean atmosphere. I'm also not a particularly big fan of online reviews, as they are often influenced by third parties. Oh yes, I almost forgot... Cordon Bleu was absolutely amazing and our neighbors at the table were just as impressed by the quality. At the end we enjoyed the evening accompanied by grappa and limoncello, including amusing conversations between ourselves and the restaurant operator. I just hope I don't forget my Cordon Bleu Pass next time I visit ;) I wish the star team much success and see you soon

This restaurant is my next visit after this Bumann report. With great admiration for the tough locksmith, who is increasingly developing into a capable and great innkeeper. And this loyal and pretty woman at his side also seems to be blossoming with the appetizing dishes that are now increasingly lovingly prepared. I'm full of anticipation.

Great hosts who serve their guests in a very friendly and competent manner. One or two hosts could learn a lesson here. Very tasty food is served at a very attractive price. I am a very critical guest, but I didn't have the slightest reason to complain. And we would love to visit the restaurant again. I would like to say one more sentence to the 1* reviewers who have definitely never visited the restaurant. This is bottom drawer and really drives me crazy. If something is wrong, you can and should clarify it directly on site. A 1* rating, probably without a previous visit, is an unjustified, bottomless impudence on a kindergarten level.

We stopped here by chance on the way through and were very pleasantly surprised! Beautiful garden, very friendly welcome and service. Great value for money, there was enough in the salad bowl and on the plate. The colorful house salad is recommended, cordon bleu with fries is excellent. It's a shame we don't live close by - the Sternen would be our new local bar!

I can also really recommend the restaurant for anyone with celiac disease. We ate at Sternen with our celibate group in Aaurau/Olten on March 10, 2018. The boss and the staff know very well about gluten-free food. The pizza dough is made in-house and the gf pizza is baked separately. They taste very good and are crispy with a thin base. Therefore register in advance. Gf pasta is always available. All soups and sauces are prepared gf. He also has breadcrumbs for pancakes and cordon blue. It wasn't the last time I was there. Those who didn't have to eat gf also enjoyed their food very well. Staff very friendly. Service also very good. Everything fitted.

Since December 1, 2017, the stars have shined again in new splendour. Service, food and simply everything was more than top.

Had dinner with my mother yesterday. Was very disappointed! I wouldn't recommend the fish crispy to anyone. They were only half cooked, very greasy and the complete opposite of crispy. Muddy. In my opinion they were too short in too little hot fat. The fries weren't good either. The bread was already hardened, probably because it wasn't wrapped in any cloth. Criticism is simply ignored. Guys, go to another restaurant for the money. 1 star for the salad. That was good.
