Sutter Begg – Bäckerei, Konditorei in Basel

Went to Sutter Begg as part of our city trip to Basel. You can get baked goods here at good and fair prices, even from a German perspective. Furthermore, the taste of these was also very good.

I actually wanted to buy myself a chocolate croissant in the morning. “They have summer break.” What? I can get them everywhere else and here they have a summer break? 🤦🏻‍♂️ For me it’s a “I won’t shop here anymore” criterion. PS: the Berliner bought as a replacement was good.

Charming saleswoman, very smiling and patient with tourists who speak poor German and German. Good products, varied choice and very competitive prices in an expensive city for the average French person: really a very good option in the city center to find something to have a picnic in the sun without breaking the bank!

I passed by yesterday morning while I was walking with friends, I wasn't planning on getting something to eat but the shop window was too inviting! I tried a butter sandwich and a hazelnut swirl! The direct view onto the pavement is very convenient and allows for quick and easy service! I would like to go back soon! Friendly and smiling staff.

I go there again and again and it's always worth the money spent, even if it's not the cheapest place. The staff is also very friendly, my snacks are always handed to me with a smile.
