Top Indian food, tasty, full of flavour in an authentic ambient (including the music). Not very far from the train station in Bern. Definitely worth eating here.

We always enjoy visiting the Taj. All the dishes I have ordered so far have been very tasty. Very friendly and fast service, generous portions. Rice can easily be shared between two people. Very good price-performance. Thanks!

We came here for dinner and absolutely loved it. The service was outstanding, and the food was even better. We have been to few Indian restaurants on this trip and this place was better by a long mile. We got Dal Tadka, Paneer Makhani and Paneer Tikka Masala and they were all excellent. Their Naans were piping hot and very tasty. If you are looking for an Indian restaurant in Bern, this is the place.

Where is the chicken?? Take-out are really small. There were literally 3 pieces chicken in the plate. Quality is okay but the portion is way too small, for 15 CHF it is not worth it.

I have been eating at the Taj and ordering take-aways from here since 2019, and the food, the ambience and the people are amazing! I recently arranged a dinner for 18 people (international colleagues and friends) here, and they have loved the experience and most importantly the taste and have been raving about it since. I not only recommend Taj's à la carte menu, lunch buffet, but also for apero's and events.

The food is delicious. The selection is large. There is also the option to get a mix of some dishes if you can't decide. Sympathetic. Avoid going to the toilet to preserve the pleasant image of the restaurant.

Very good food. Took a take out. Both veg and chicken curry was really nice. Portion size is also large. Worth a try if you are near Bern railway station.

We started with the fried paneer. It was delicious as were the dips. For the main course we had chicken tikki masala and palak paneer and garlic naan. All was some of the best we have ever had and we have eaten Indian in multiple continents and countries including India. Everything was fresh. Spices were great. Naan was superb. Service was excellent. We ended with some cashew ice cream. All was delicious. Highly recommended

The restaurant is not very big, so reservations make sense. (In summer there are more spaces in the yard.)

The Chicken Tikka Masala was simply divine, and the Vegetable Biryani was a palette of flavors that transported me to India with every bite. Fast delivery, large portions and very tasty!

The food at this restaurant was simply amazing. Each entrée was served on top of a candle to ensure the food remained warm while we ate. The thalis were large, and very filling. All of the food options we tried were fresh, full of flavor, and not too spicy. The staff was very efficient, and we didn’t have to wait more than 10-15 minutes for our food to arrive. The hospitality was excellent. The owner and his wife were very nice people, and helped us figure out the parking situation near the restaurant. They spoke the same language as us, which was a nice change after not being able to understand the other languages spoken in Switzerland. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in Bern craving Indian food!

Its simply amazing. Loved the garden area with a very cozy setup. Food was brilliant it felt like fresh homemade food made with care. We ordered thali and it was a very good sized portion, more then enough for 1 person with great combinations. Loved the homemade food feeling. If you like Indian food I would highly recommend going to taj.

Whatever your choice of food, you will not be disappointed, everything is delicious, everything, the prices are between 28 and 38 per dish, and the drinks between 7 and + depending... don't forget to order a naan 🫓 the garlic one is delicious and the of chili is not very spicy but has a great flavor. To finish I ordered an Indian beer and it was delicious. I highly recommend it

One of the really good Indian restaurants in Switzerland and the service and hospitality is excellent. They serve food on top of a candle lit pan which ensures that the food stays hot during the entire meal. Would recommended this place for anyone visiting Bern.

This is our second visit, I am from USA and on our very first visit my credit card was declined working due to “chip” issue and the owner of this restaurant help me getting USD with very pretty smile on his face, admired a lot . Most authentic Indian restaurant in Bern, without question. The butter chicken is succulent and the crevetten pakora was absolutely delicious. The chicken vindaloo is also wonderful for those who prefer a more spicy dish. Excellent naan as well, soft yet crispy on the outside.

Very good food, which appeased our Asian stomach😘 We ordered 3 main meals, 3 cups of chai, one each of roti and naan, a total of 115 Swiss francs including service charge! We feel very satisfied👍

We ate far too much because it was just delicious! The amount of options is almost overwhelming, but we didn't regret our choices for even a second. Staff was friendly and it felt very private and cozy (we got a table in a corner, right next to the heater ❤️). We'll definitely come back!

I've had multiple visits to Taj for lunch and dinner. Authentic taste and good service. The chicken set meal at lunch is recommended and their a la carte menu is also good.

My favorite Indian cuisine in Bern, whether in the restaurant, take away or delivered. The owner family is very friendly and the food is always very good. I can particularly recommend the fish curry at lunchtime or the lamb biryani.

Nice Indian food in City of Bern and it's relatively cheaper compared to other Indian restaurants around Switzerland. They are polite and speak English, German and Hindi.

Went for the first time there. Nice service. Little busy during weekdays as it is close to University of Bern.

I often order at off-peak times, so fast delivery and good packaging (as little plastic as possible) make delicious naan bread and raita to go with it. The paneer with tomato sauce is highly recommended. The Mango Lassie tastes a little different every time but is always very tasty.

Best Indian restaurant I know. Friendly delivery service, pleasantly large quantities. Super delicious naan bread and never eaten such delicious paneer makhni. The Mango Lassie is also always made fresh and tastes a little different but heavenly every time. Boondi Raita is highly recommended as a dip. Takeaway got wrong order. Instead of 10 minutes as advertised, it was 30 minutes. No answer to the question of how long it would last. And the naan was a chip-like cumin taco. Paid extra for garlic naan but none of it had garlic flavor.

Based on the reviews we decided to have dinner at Taj. All the great reviews were definitely not exagerated. The service was very good and the staff polite and nice. The food was easily the best Indian food we ever had. Our sons (8 and 7) who had the Korma also agreed and we all wanted to go back the next day, which we did. Usually you stick to what you know but because it was so good the first time we were sure that ordering something else would be just as delicious. And it was as expected. Over the two days we had Korma, Butter Chicken, Chenna Massala, Chicken Biryani, Chicken Vindaloo, Palak paneer(with potatoes added per our request), Samosa's and different kind of naans (plain, butter, garlic and chilli). Everything was delicious and we would surely recommend it.

Went to eat dinner here and I was impressed and satisfied with the service I received, the place was clean and cute. While I waited for my lamb biryani, I was served something called Papadam made with chickpeas flour. It came with three different kinds of sauces. It didn't take long for my meal to arrive and it exceeded my expectations, which was based on my rich experiences in many other Indian restaurants around Europe. Last but absolutely not the least, the saff who served me so so polite and nice. I suggest you go here for a good experience of Indian cuisine.

Was there last night at 9:30 p.m. and they went out of their way to fulfill my wishes. In addition to the food, which completely meets or even exceeds expectations, the exceptional hospitality is remarkable. I haven't experienced this in Switzerland for a long time. Highly recommended!

O.k., Restriktionen in der Gastrobranche sind das Eine, aber zweieinhalb Stunden - trotz Rückfragen - auf den Food warten? Heute bei uns nicht das erste mal passiert. Qualität der Gerichte unter jeglicher Kritik, kalt, Masala Dosa kam in 4 Teilen und bestand zu 50% aus Kokosflocken - ungeniessbar... Waren Stammgäste im Restaurant, home delivery definitiv nicht zu empfehlen! Never ever again; sorry guys!
