Excellent service, a nice variety of dishes and flavors. A Thai that is worth the detour, like a beautiful trip so close... A nice touch: you can place an order and collect it on site.

Authentic Thai food! I frequently come to this place as they serve delicious and authentic Thai food. The restaurant is rather small and gets very loud. In summer time they have a nice outdoor area.

Fine Thai food, beautifully and lavishly decorated. The restaurant is spacious and the service is polite and attentive. When the weather is good, there are plenty of places outside where you can eat. The prices are, as you would expect on the Gold Coast, rather at the upper end.

What a great place to have in the small town of Meilen! The staff are super friendly and the cuisine is very good. The cuisine is somewhat catered to the Swiss/European palate (otherwise an easy 5*) but has some authentic elements to it. Easy place to eat and open on Sundays which is great. TIP: Lunch offers an all you can eat buffet, that changes almost every day of the work week.

Great thai restaurant with a nice buffet. Tge food is deliciously prepared and it tastes good. The price is fair for what you get. It is recommanded to check what they serve at the buffet. I missed the chicken meals. I will surely come back.

Very friendly staff and very fine food

Thoroughly Thai. Served very friendly by Thai women in Thai dresses. The food is all Thai: rice and noodle dishes with spiciness information and also pictures on the menu. It's not overpriced either. We liked it very much.

Thai orchid A classic Thai restaurant, with all the usual dishes - including vegetarian. The food is very good, the curries are delicious. The team is nice. It's definitely worth coming. Attention: high prices.

A fantastic restaurant, you feel like you've been transported to Thailand. The entire staff, dressed in traditional clothing, demonstrates incredible service and hospitality. The menu (wine, food and dessert menu) has a large selection where everyone will find something. The meals are excellently prepared, but the portions are very large, so we didn't miss the opportunity to take the leftovers home. We tried as much as possible and will definitely come back. If you love Thai food, this restaurant is a must go. Reservations are only possible by telephone.

It's been awarded with mussels, so it's rather top-notch cuisine. Service-performance ratio is very good and is known to have fairly fair prices.

Thai orchid makes great food with a large offer of dishes, during lunch (at least pre-covid times) they offered a great buffet. The service is very friendly and the atmosphere is nice 👍🙂

The price is very high, but the portions are generous and the quality is good. The red curry was fine, even though I specifically ordered "Thai" spicy, it wasn't even "Swiss" spicy. Fried shrimps were good, but the papaya salad was bland and very disappointing. The restaurant is cozy. All in all, it's enough to just about good.

It is a real VIP restaurant. Everything is VERY beautifully made, with wonderful decoration and VERY tasty. I felt in love with the red spicy soup, the name of which I unfortunately do not remember. Of you come there and if you are the one who loves a bit spicy dishes, please try that soup. It's totally worth it!

At first I was a little surprised at the prices in the restaurant. But the portions are really big! Food tastes great and the staff is very friendly. I'm already looking forward to the next visit!

Take-Out bestellt, dieselben Menus wie immer. Schon öfters ist die sehr variable Qualität aufgefallen - mal ist es sehr lecker, mal scheinen andere Köche am werk zu sein. Diesmal war es sehr schlecht. das Laab glich einer wässrigen Suppe und essentielle Ingredienzen fehlten. das curry hatte kein Gemüse drin. als wir anriefen meldete sich zuerst eine Dame, dann der Koch, der lediglich meinte: das stimme nicht, er habe es selbst zubereitet. Keine Einsicht gar nix. Das ist sehr schade, zumal wir langjährige treue Kunden sind, die öfters schon mal über qualitative Unterschiede hinweg geschaut haben

One of the best Thai restaurants in Zurich!

Nach mehreren Jahren sind wir wieder einmal in diesem Restaurant eingekehrt. Früher war alles überzuckert und auch jetzt wollen sie alles an schweizerischen Geschmack anpassen. Schade, denn Thaiküche schmeckt uns normalerweise sehr gut. Hier wird aber alles lieblos angeboten und das in übergrossen Portionen. Der Anbau hat keine Atmosphäre, ist zu hell und gleicht eher einer Kantine. Schade, aber so nicht.

Diesmal war es eine Enttäuschung. Die Bedienung war unfreundlich und ziemlich schlecht gelaunt. Das Essen war nicht gebraten sondern in eine salzige Bouillon gekocht, auf keinen Fall hatte es mit thailändische Küche zu tun. Das Restaurant wurde, seit wir letztes mal dort waren, umgebaut und jetzt erinnerte uns an eine Kantine. Wir fühlten uns unwohl. Schade.

It's a shame that there are no children's prices or a children's menu. A fried rice for Fr. 27.50 for a seven year old is just too much.

Das Essen schmeckt ziemlich gut, außer das Dessert Mango sticky rice sollte besser zubereitet werden. Zu wenig Geschmack von Kokosnuss und auch die entsprechende Süße fehlt leider. Der größte Minuspunkt betrifft den Service und die fehlende Freundlichkeit. Vielleicht hatte die Servicefachkraft einen schlechten Tag erwischt. War bisher kein zweites Mal dort, obwohl ich hier im Dorf wohne und gerne die Restaurants der Region unterstütze.

Tja die Konkurrenz, in der Umgebung von Zürich und Rapperswil, schläft nicht. Früher eines DER Thai-Restaurants in der Region ist das Thai Orchid in Meilen nicht mehr speziell.Zum Essen: die Speisen sind nach wie vor sehr gut.Bedienung: sehr unaufmerksam, es scheint, dass die Damen keine Lust haben die Gäste zu bedienen. Preise: die Preise sind überteuert! Vegetarisches Nudelgericht CHF 35, frische (die waren nicht mehr frisch) Mango, ohne gar nichts CHF 17.50..... usw. da gehe ich lieber nach Rapperswil oder Zürich.

Recently I was there with my daughter for lunch (buffet). It was again excellent and we enjoyed it a lot. We have been going to this restaurant for over 15 years and we have never been disappointed by the quality of the food or friendliness of the staff (sometimes service can be slow in the evening when the restaurant is full): always excellent quality and friendly service.

In a dignified and well-kept setting, the Thai Orchid offers particularly tasty, even delicious cuisine. We celebrated a birthday in the restaurant last night and not only were we able to eat well, but we also found the atmosphere we wanted. Bravo!

They have a great choice of asian food for everyone, and everything I've tried there was tasty (I've been there several times already - a few times with my wife, once with both my wife and my 18-month old daughter. It was very tasty every single time!
