We've been looking for a place for a long time where you can have a good breakfast. We are really happy to have found this. For good food & such good service and friendliness of the staff, the prices are worth every cent! We'd love to come back ✨

Very cool bar, bistro. Fine offering.

We had brunch here today, and it was fantastic. On recommendation, we booked in advance. The food was very nice, we had the salmon bagel which we followed with cake and coffee, again very nice. They were busy so the service was a bit slow but the staff were all very very nice. We will definitely be visiting again.

It was my first time and bumped into this place accidentally. I was impressed with the staff that they made room for us even though we didn't have a reservation (I highly recommend reserving it in advance). The options are pretty good, especially the avocado egg bagel. Fresh pressed juice, the hot chocolate, coffee, and brownie, made our experience delightful. There are amazing brunch options.. will surely visit again.

If you want to go somewhere homely but fancy with great Food this is the place! I cannot say how much I love this place.

Very unprofessional and unfriendly staff.

A beautiful ambience and calming atmosphere in the beautiful Pärkli right next to the train station. The “salad bowl” turned out to be a salad plate with leaf lettuce, some rocket, a quartered cherry tomato, two slices of cucumber, half a strawberry and some pear wedges. And at a proud price of CHF 19.50 (!) - the empanadas come with an extra CHF 8. The salad and empanadas tasted good, but nothing special or outstanding. Due to the wonderful ambience, I would still consider Thalvie again for coffee and cake.

We celebrated Valentine's Day at Thalvie and loved the entire experience! It was a set menu for the evening and we could opt for vegetarian options. The food was delicious and we especially loved the vegetarian main which was cauliflower steak. The entire staff was nice and attentive and the restaurant space is every bit as beautiful as it looks in pictures. Highly recommend and we will be back to try their brunch menu.

It's nice, yes, but strangely I never really feel welcome, but the service is friendly, the tea is good and the cake is very nice.

Very nice atmosphere and great location. Unfortunately the service leaves a lot to be desired. Sometimes we waited up to 15 minutes for a coffee or cold drink, even though the restaurant was not full at 9:30 a.m.

The Thalvie Café is hidden in a park right next to the Thalwil train station (when you step out of the train station, the entrance gate to the park is directly opposite the flower shop and the Avec store). The restaurant is located in a former orangery that has been lovingly restored and renovated (pay attention to the ceiling painting in the entrance area!). The restaurant is almost always fully booked on weekends, so we recommend making an early reservation via the website. The menu offers a wide range of food and drinks. We had the bagels, various drinks and the cheesecake. The coffee was great, bagels were delicious and cheesecake was ok. The staff was friendly and accommodating, but not yet well-rehearsed (probably new employees), which led to several misunderstandings. Music wasn't playing for a majority of the time and when it was, the songs/playlists kept stopping and being replaced by others. Btw. It's also a great place for dog owners - dogs get a drinking bowl and are looked after!

Great location and delicious food. Everything is decorated with love and it is nice and warm in winter, despite the large windows and old building. The view is of the park. There is also food for vegans and the kitchen is flexible with orders if you want a different combination.

Beautiful place, very friendly service

We visited Thalvie for brunch yesterday (Saturday) and the place is beyond stunning. That being sad, the service was extremely slow (despite the place not being full) and 3 out of the 5 items we requested were not available (no salad, no chai latte, no empanadas). We ended up ordering two types of tapas: the Spanish ones and the oriental ones. The Spanish tapas advertise Serrano ham, yet we received some very dry and thinly sliced ham that hardly resembled Serrano. The worst came with the oriental tapas: 6 dry, microwaved, luke warm Aldi falafel and a bowl of hummus with hot chilli peppers on top and no olive oil in sight. All in all, I'd suggest going to take instagram worthy pictures and a glass of wine, but the food and service are really not worth the price tag.

We had brunch here on Sunday. The brunch options were great and our waitress was super friendly. We didn’t make a reservation but chanced upon a table! The decor and ambiance is fantastic, we were so excited to have spotted this gem of a place. Recommended making a reservation ahead of time.

I had an Espresso and it was beautifully served. My favorite café in Thalwil. It is a hidden gem. Not sure if a lot of people know that this place exists but I surely do!

Stylishly furnished coffee house in a beautiful location in the park. The map, however, could be more extensive. It's a shame that you couldn't enjoy the ambience. A baptism party had rented the entire hall and the rest of the café was full to the last seat. We were placed in the middle of the entrance, which meant we were exposed to the constant draft of the front door, which opened every minute. Noise level was immense. Won't be coming back.

We used them for a large group meeting. The meeting room was perfect for what we needed to do (online + in person), and the catering (and food!) was great as well!

Stylish furnishings, lovingly prepared dishes and attentive service: Café Thalvie is always a good idea; whether for a brunch among friends, a network meeting, a candlelight dinner or a business lunch. A visit always feels a bit like diving into another world. The baroque furnishings convey grandeur without appearing dusty or heavy. Nestled in a beautiful park, the café also offers the opportunity for outdoor weddings.

Very nice café that also serves delicious food. Proud prices, but always good quality and a pleasant atmosphere. The service was always friendly and in a good mood. There is also a play area for the little ones among us. When the weather is nice it is wonderful outside, otherwise space is very limited. A reservation is definitely recommended.

However, what really makes this coffee my absolute favorite is the exceptional staff. We were just turned away at 1:10 p.m. with the comment that they were closing soon (2 p.m.) and were “full.” Had a large Tavolata that was gone, but the service employee didn't feel like clearing a table for two for us. A pity!

Beautiful place, lots of potential but I won’t come back. We had a reservation but that didn’t guarantee us anything. We arrived on time, waited a while to get someone to come to us to discover that they don’t have a table reserved. A couple in front without a reservation got a big nice table fit for a group of people, and we were sat all together (4 ppl) at one tiny table after some searching, right under the sun, near the walking area. Fine, that’s not a great start but maybe food would be good? Took the all day brunch menu. I must say that staff was open to food adjustments, thank you for that, but the food was under average. Bagel bread was chewy (definitely not fresh), bagel was so full of spring onions that I couldn’t enjoy it’s taste. I had an avocado bagel with egg. You would expect an avocado to be good in an avocado bagel, well that wasn’t the case. It was somehow sour and felt like fresh avocado mixed with jar avocado, really weird tasting thing. Bagel was absolutely not worth it. Superbowl was very tasty. One thing I can recommend. Fruit they served was fresh. Banana cake was drier than the ground on this 32 degree day. Service was bad, staff was disorganised, apart from the reservation issue, they didn’t clean the table where we were sat, didn’t bring menus, never checked on our drinks that ended before the food came, never cleaned the plates off our table (sat there for like 30 min with plates in front and we just left eventually). I don’t think the place is worth the money. The location is lovely, service and food need improvement.

Great café with a feel-good factor and friendly service.

We had brunch there as part of a bachelorette party and made reservations because of the large number of people. The food and service were good. The interior was beautiful. Tip: If you want to celebrate an occasion there, talk to the office staff and clarify things in advance. For example, are decorations allowed, and if so, what kind of decorations, and are there any cleaning fees, etc.? This will save you from unpleasant surprises.

There is a beautiful garden right next to the train station where the Thalvie can be found. The atmosphere is cozy and the food is varied. We had an aperitif riche for our birthday party, really delicious! I'd love to come back.

A charming cafè near the lake only 15 mins from Zürich HB! This cafè is located super close to the train station, in a small park surrounded by trees not too far from the lake. The atmosphere is really special, with the main seating area located in the veranda of a well-preserved historical building decorated with extreme care. The music is not too loud, and the ambience feels very relaxing and cozy. There is also a relatively large seating area outside, perfect for the warmer season. The menù is pretty small. They offer a variety of teas, warm drinks, and wines. To eat, they have some cakes, empanadas, bagels, birchermüsli, etc, and an all-day brunch. The prices are a bit high, but in our opinion, the location, the care in the service, and the quality of the drinks/food make it worth it. We went there on a saturday afternoon for tea-time and got hot chocolate, a honey oolong tea, a brownie, and a cake trio. This last one is composed of a small portion of carrot cake, which was soft and moist, a mini brownie with nuts (I think pecans!), and muffin with banana and choco chip if I had to guess! All of them were really good, and I simply love the idea of enjoying 3 different desserts with my hot drink.

The location and the ambiance are the real winners here. It's right in Thalwil but after a walk down a garden path, you arrive and feel a million miles away from anything. Other points of note, the coffee was delicious, they have bagels, the staff are SUPER friendly. It seems popular so if you have a favourite spot or just want to have somewhere to sit, it might be worth booking.

Great for brunch, tea or coffee. Croissants to kill for. Lovely park with old trees around the place, one can easily spend 2-3 hours there.

Location great, food didn't convince me - foccacia came from the frozen food store, had white edges on the side from thawing, pita bread was dry and the banana bread was also not fresh and very dry. A pity. Had more potential.

One of my favorite places to visit at any time of the year. In the warmer weathers its wonderful outside in the garden enjoying the sun and the calmness. At the colder weather to sit inside with the great interior and cozy atmosphere. The best part the offer lactose free milk and gluten free bread now days as well. Big plus.

Quiet and conversational place with food wine and nice choice of tapas (and one or two rotating mains). Staff is friendly and helpful. The nicest thing about it is seclusion though - it's right near the station but nicely hidden in the private park. Locals suggest to book in advance.

What an oasis. The Thalvie is located in a beautiful little park, in a former greenhouse. We are excited. Everything presented so lovingly and stylishly. The food and drinks are carefully selected. Interion super nice. Team very friendly. And you can also see that it is also child-friendly, why? Because there is a ramp for carts, toys for kids, drinks and food for the little ones, changing facilities including pamper buckets… But it is still such a beautiful place of peace and serenity. Definitely one of my favorite places around Zurich ❤️

The place is really nice and location is great. The service is friendly but slow. The food has a lot of space for improvement. The menu has mainly bagels but they didnt have any bagel left. The avocado sandwich is quite empty. On top of that, we ordered gluten free bread, a big mistake, as the bread was a gummy thing that most probably was left on the bar for 45‘. Considering the size of the things, is quite pricy. I could came back for a coffee in summer as the place is beautiful and the coffe good, but that is all!

A wonderful, special, magical place, wonderful food and super friendly staff

Beautiful location with great food and kind staff. We attended a wedding here and had a very enjoyable time. Especially because the staff was very helpful and had chosen good wine in combination with the well prepared food. Because of the large windows there is a lot of natural light which allows for a warm feeling throughout the venue.

BBQ was ok even though the meat wasn't always cooked through and you had the feeling that the "griller" just wanted to pack up and go home. Nice shady garden, but the service (brown-haired, only speaks standard German) was totally snappy and in a bad mood. The blonde waitress (hair tied back, speaks CH German), warm, attentive and hard-working, made you feel very welcome.

Wow, we were really speechless with so much attention to detail. Thalvie is a beautifully decorated café in the middle of a green park. This gem is inconspicuous from the outside and well hidden right next to the Thalwil train station. If you find it. I couldn't find the main entrance straight away. If you can't find the entrance, try going through one of the park gates. Truly an oasis of well-being to unwind for a moment with your companion. Unfortunately, since we didn't have much time, we decided on the soup of the day. A delicately seasoned vegetable soup. The service was young, courteous and friendly. We spotted a wide selection of vegan delicacies in the menu: from bagels, a complete brunch platter, tapas to banana bread and much, much more... We can definitely recommend it. We would love to come back and try the brunch.

Beautiful and stylish Café in a hidden away location in the middle of a park in Thalwil. The place is very cozy and the staff was friendly. We went there for breakfast and they had a small selection of vegan and regular breakfast options (the avocado bagel was tasty!). I can definitely recommend the location!

We got very disappointed about the tapas. We were first told that it was Swiss week, and we thought that they had only Swiss tapas on that day, although the HP says Spanish, Mexican and Oriental tapas. The Swiss tapas were only cold cuts (ham, cheese, fruits and nuts). We definitely expected to get something more than these, and it was very disappointing to call these tapas, for we had images of Spanish tapas in our head. We would have been glad to receive more information and available choices. Later, we found out that they also served Oriental and Spanish tapas on that day. We would have chosen either of them. This place is a brunch place. They do not have proper food. As the Swiss tapas were not enough, I ordered an avocado bagel. The taste was blunt, nothing special. The café is very nicely decorated but was almost empty on a week day evening.

Great location, bright space inside of a park. Try their avocado bagel for brunch. Service might bring the food in strange order (food and 5 minutes later cutlery) and the left hall can get really noisy when full and people talking.

Super nice cafe. Belongs to the Ecus group together with a daycare center. It surprises me all the more that there is a very unstable and rickety changing table next to the bathroom and that it is almost impossible to get into the café with a stroller. Dear Ecus group: please provide a decent changing table and a normal ramp, then your café will be perfect! Many moms thank you. 😉

A nice place to drink a nice coffee.

A little hidden in a park right next to the train station in Thalwil. Perfect if you missed the post bus, which only runs every hour 😅 Staff is very accommodating and prices are reasonable.

It’s a beautiful cafe and while the prices are high, for a coffee and something small to eat, it’s reasonable and the coffee is good. Quite annoying though are the frequent random closures for private events. You really need to check the website before you go each time to see if they are even open! And then sometimes, like today, the website has not been updated… maybe the restaurant should remain open consistently and private events held in a separate space on the grounds?

The location is just stunning. The food is quite good, and the prices are very reasonable. It’s a lovely brunch place I will come back to. The service staff seems not to have much experience in the gastronomy industry. With more experienced and more attentive staff it would be a 5* place.

We had a reservation for brunch, the menu was already very limited and then at 11 a.m. we were already out of bowls. The only bagels we had to choose from were unsalted and therefore had no taste. The very small banana bread for 6.- was way too overpriced and we sat in the blazing sun, so I would have liked more service from the staff, that the parasols were placed in such a way that the guests were not grilled at 30 degrees :) the garden is but really nice and the waiters were very friendly.

Very nice location in the park, right next to Thalwil train station. The staff were very friendly and flexible (since the weather wasn't as we had hoped) and we had a great aperitif. Thank you Larissa for the great advice and organization, we had a lovely evening and the feedback from my guests was consistently positive. I can only recommend it.

I have been several times now at the Thalvie Café (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner etc.) with my girlfriend. It is a beautiful place to spend quality time with friends and extremely delicious food along with it. The building is very historical and creates a special atmosphere. I highly recommend going there 💪.

Not the cheapest place, but it's a beautiful oasis in the middle of the town. Great food and drinks!
