Tuy's in Köniz

It was a recommendation from my father that the Tuy Thai Restaurant serves the best crispy duck here. Yesterday I tried duck with red curry. It was so nice... We'll definitely be happy to come back. Thanks for the nice service and fine food.

The fried rice with egg and vegetables was ok and quick to prepare but nothing special at all. It's new to me that you can't get Prik Nam Pla in a Thai restaurant and I've never experienced that here in Switzerland. The guy who served me told me that you can't get the sauce to take away. What was even bolder was when he told me that he would ask the chefs if they could make them for me. He 100% didn't do it. He promised me that he would give me something with chili and what I got was a sweet chili sauce. I have no idea what kind of trip it was. He just took money from me and wanted to get rid of me as quickly as possible. The take away was more disappointing than anything else. I would have expected more for the starter, fried rice + beer. In Khon Kaen I would have had this meal for around 3 francs and the cook wouldn't have been too lazy to make me a Prik Nam Pla. If you want stuff that's drowning in curry sauce, this restaurant might be good, otherwise, well. If you have been to Thailand several times you know that there is better food out there. The only time I saw red curry, or curry in general, in Thailand was frozen in a Seven Eleven. Luckily, there are still Thai restaurants in Switzerland where you can get good food for your hard-earned money. It was the first and last time here for sure.

Ordered food today, 1 hour late. The food was poorly packaged, so half of the curry's sauce spilled out. Plus everything was freezing cold. The curry tasted good, but it doesn't do much good if the rest isn't right. No apology nothing.

Food is delicious. It's a good idea to try it out.

The whole meal was served on one plate. In Thailand we are used to having all the dishes in the middle and everyone takes what they like. The taste was not convincing at all.

The food was actually good, but my wife had a lot of eggshell in her food. After a phone call to the restaurant, this was averted with a laugh and without any suggestion of how to make amends. Auch wenn Tuy's auf den ersten Blick als einfaches Takeaway erscheint (Die Thailändische Küche besteht hauptsächlich aus kleinen Takeaways). ist es eben genau diesen Groove, den man als Thai sonst vermisst. Abgesehen davon, waren alle Gerichte zu 100% authentisch gekocht und gewürzt. Für europäische Verhältnisse sicher auf der sehr scharfen Seite, doch wer in Thailand einmal ein lokales Gericht gegessen hat, weiss halt auch, was thailändische Schärfe ist. Ich esse auch kein Swisscheese in den USA und erwarte Schweizer Käse. Zu guter Letzt ist das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis absolut fair und ich wüsste nicht wo es in der Schweiz zu diesem Preis je authentische Thaiküche geniessen konnte.... schade eigentlich, denn es müsste nicht teuer sein. Werde sicherlich regelmässig die Fahrt von Aarau nach Köniz machen um dort zu essen, es ist die Reise wert.
