Untertrübsee in Wolfenschiessen

Sorry, I've never eaten in such a bad restaurant. (end of January 2024) Service: The young gentleman was unmotivated and only said the bare minimum. Clothing Adidas. Food: Had to wait a long time. My schnitzel was burnt (black) on the bottom side. I don't know whether this was intentionally served that way. Was replaced without any problems. The apology was puny: “sorry” was all. The meat was about 1mm high and dry, breadcrumbs in abundance. You could only taste the breadcrumbs. There was hair in the hash browns. My guess is that ready-made products are used because the vegetables didn't taste like anything. Someone came out of the kitchen with an Adidas trainer. Cook? Price: far too high for this food and this service The only positive thing is the toilets: clean and modern. Dear restaurant operators: go to the Alpstübli restaurant or the Gerschnialp restaurant. There you can see how to do it correctly. Very friendly service and delicious food. Last year this restaurant was still recommended, but unfortunately not anymore.

Cheese slices were good but there seemed to be something wrong with the serving daughter, she seemed unhappy and was very unfriendly, no thanks, nothing.

It's a shame that the waitress was so inflexible and didn't give us a scooter 4 minutes after 5 o'clock. So be absolutely punctual, please - which is not very easy after a 6 hour hike. The Meringue Kurve was the place to be in Engelberg for many years - a shame

One of the best places to eat in Engelberg. It’s the last stop on the home run before Engelberg for food and a drink. Don’t expect anything fancy. Decor is circa 1985, however the simple mountain fayre is done well and the prices are ok (for Switzerland). The Rusti is one of the best in the area. Plus their meringues are not to be missed

Nice place with lots of attractions

Hiked from the Trübsee station towards Engelberg and stopped there. Food was good, service was friendly and the interior (including toilets) was clean. Recommended! If you want, you can also rent scooters there to ride down. Seems like fun. 😉

Visited for a snack on the way back from Trübsee to the Eienwäldli campsite. We ate sausage salad with hash browns. It was delicious, a great vinaigrette. .

Pretty mountain pub with a wonderfully rustic and varied menu at absolutely fair prices. Just the right place to stop for lunch on a ski day, warm up and refuel with a hot, large slice of cheese or a hearty rösti with fried egg and bacon. Big plus: Very friendly and cheerful service - even when there was a huge rush at lunchtime, the lady had a genuine smile and served us and the other guests with joy and goodwill. Many restaurants can learn a lot from this; keep it up!

Great restaurant staff, very attentive. Everything fine! Sejr child-friendly furnished. Unfortunately we encountered a very moody scooter rental company. Factually speaking, it's certainly top notch, but the man has no decency and treated us quite arrogantly. If my kids didn't really want to ride these scooters, I wouldn't have gotten involved. Hope he had a bad day...we all do. Otherwise everything is more than tip top!

We were in Engelberg and I really wanted to show this restaurant to my friend. Because I have such good childhood memories associated with this restaurant. But I was very disappointed. The service was totally unfriendly and unmotivated. We felt very unwanted. The food was good. A pity.

Very tasty food, top service, fair prices. The restaurant and piste on Untertreibsee has been our first choice here in the ski area for many years! Next to the restaurant there is a ski lift with a nice wide slope and a small fun park. The valley run to Engelberg from Untertreibsee is a pleasure. Always happy 👍

Super fun to ski to and super fun to watch my daughter be silly with Kirsch. Yep. I'm that kinda mom to encourage my kids to drink. They were mortified I would encourage. I grew up in a family where anything and everything was a sin. So which naturally...intrigued and made me seek to see what it was all about (with the exception of drug use. No thanks. I have always taken sports seriously.) Even now with a brain tumor lol and being told the oil of weed and doing weed still...? No thanks😂 I still get my natural highs from skiing out of bounds and flipping rockstar cuban cigars.....mmmmmmmmm. Oh yes. Back to the restaurant. We had Rosti with speck and eggs and omg.....mmmmmmmmm!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Good place to stop for coffee, a snack, or dessert before finishing the ski run down to Engelberg. Try the Schümli Pflümli!

Darf auf der Wanderung von Trübsee nach Engelberg nicht fehlen: Einkehren im Restaurant Untertrübsee. Das Essen wie immer gut, schnell und mit viel Charme serviert. Qualität gut. Der Höhepunkt wie immer: ein Meringue! Wir hatten noch einen Freund dabei, der gesundheitliche Probleme mit seinem Knie hatte: Auch das kein Problem: Eis um das Knie zu kühlen war sofort da. Ein Transport ins Dorf war schnell und unkompliziert bestellt. Und das alles, während dem die Terasse voll war. Herzlichen Dank dafür.

Really the best!!! Hash browns are highly recommended. In Korea, the topping for potato pancakes is really delicious. I trekked down from Tripje and came down to eat, but all the hard work was gone and it was healing. Starting with the scenery... I highly recommend it!!! Now go go ride the Trotty Bike

A top place in one of the most beautiful areas of Switzerland. An ice cold drink on a hot day provides a welcome relief for walkers.

Cool location (alpine hut style)

Kalt und schneit stark hielten wir sie zum Mittagessen auf, 2 Erwachsene und 2 Kinder. Saß auf der rechten Seite und beobachtete die Olympischen Winterspiele, während wir uns aufwärmen und zu Mittag aßen. Kinder liebten ihre Bratwurst mit Zwiebelsauce und Pommes frites. Meine Frau hatte Gemüsesuppe und ich hatte Gulaschsuppe. Alles sehr gut und netter Service.

Dieses einfache Lokal hat sich in den letzten 35 Jahren im Grunde kaum verändert. Es hat nicht besonders viel Charme, aber vielleicht muss es genauso sein. Für eine Schweizer Hütte in Engelberg ist der Charme allerdings außergewöhnlich nett. Die Bedienung ist freundlich, schnell und aufmerksam. Die Speisekarte seit vielen vielen Jahren unverändert, ein bisschen schade, aber die Preise sind noch okay! Aber auch die Qualität der Speisen ist seit Jahren unverändert. Käse- Wurstsalat mit Rösti, so wie es sein sollte und überbackene Käseschnitte ein Muss! Bekannt ist der „Einkehrschwung“ aber für seine Merengue Dessertteller! Diese sollte man in jedem Fall testen und genießen!Für uns ist der „Einkehrschwung“ nach fast jedem Skitag ein Standard! Schön wenn man ab März draußen in der Sonne sitzen und die Berge und die Aussicht genießen kann.

Darf bei keiner Talabfahrt fehlen: Die Einkehr in der „Meringuekurve“ Untertrübsee. Käseschnitte überbacken, ein großes Meringue mit Glace (Sahne) oder ein Kaffee fertig! Das gehört dazu! Nette Bedienung, Preise ok, Ambiente im hinteren Raum allerdings wie Ende 1979... Wir kommen gerne wieder
