The Fourth Wall is simply my absolute favorite place! With its welcoming ambience and super friendly staff, it offers a fantastic atmosphere for a great meal. I can only warmly recommend this restaurant because everything is just right here: the ambience, the staff and, above all, the delicious food! Particularly noteworthy are Mario's cocktail creations. His cocktails are undoubtedly a highlight.

Top service and cool atmosphere.

The service was very friendly and relaxed and the place looked very inviting. Unfortunately I didn't really like the main course but that's probably a matter of taste. The starter, however, was great. The portions were quite large.

The coq au vin was raw, just like the tartare, and the cheesecake was dry. It was a very sad evening in a nice-looking place where the only excuse for such a pitiful experience was the addition of this new dish to the menu.

I loved my dinner here. Everything was tasty. The food was upscale looking and very well made. The vibe was bar/club like, with upbeat music. But you can have a relax and comfortable dinner without being rushed to order and pay. Water was 4CHF per person which was a little sad considering there are so many wonderful water fountains right outside. But the service and food were great so no complaints.

Really a cool corner in Bern. The drinks are very tasty and there is a large selection. The various aperitif plates are also highly recommended. In summer you can relax in the small garden. I recommend making a reservation, the restaurant fills up quickly.

The food was very good and the service was friendly. It's a bit of a shame that you have to give up the table. But it was just enough time since we were there at 5:30 p.m.

I got to know “the store” through an event and have been there three times since then. Great food that tasted simply outstanding. The service was extremely friendly, helpful and willing to recommend. Whether before - after - the theater, or just like that. You can always go to the 4th wall and not be disappointed.

Interesting brunch with olives, hummus, tzatziki, various types of cheese, great egg dishes and much more. The meat selection is probably deliberately kept rather manageable. You can like it, but personally I would have appreciated a little ham, sausage or dried meat. The staff is very attentive and nice, there's nothing to complain about. In terms of ambience, it's just a large room with a corresponding amount of noise. I wouldn't recommend it for a social occasion, great for intimate togetherness.

We ate on Saturday, lunch menu is limted but very suprising, salades are big and tasty go for the soup you ll be veryyyy surprised 😍

Great restaurant - great food, service too

For almost 50.00 the brunch was pretty poor. The buffet was equivalent to a “Zmorgä” in a 4**** hotel. The bread came from Migros? (nothing to say against that!) the food was good but as already stated, nothing special. Sorry dears (service 🥰) but you have to put in a lot more effort.

Had a little bit of food there from the small menu. A little bit of bread with some cheese, beef pastrami and other veggies and spreads. The taste of the food was so good that I almost forgot how pricy it was. But I guess that’s just due to location of the restaurant and regional ingredients.

Only one play attended by the Bern City Theater.

Sunday brunch was amazing. Really cozy atmosphere, very friendly and attentive service. The included à la carte dishes were very tasty. Large selection of cheese, meat, homemade dips (mustard, hummus, etc.), warm and cold drinks, muesli, freshly baked bread, plaited bread, croissants and much more. Nothing was missing! All-in-all highly recommended for all brunch fanatics. We were definitely not there for the last time!

So far, so awesome! A much more relaxed atmosphere than at the main road. Friendly waiter, intressting and good variety of foods and beverages. The iced Mocca was spot on tasty. Brunch is excellent as well, my favorite so far in the city.

The food is pricey but for sure worth it. If you love champignons you have to try the portobello burger. All the ingredients combined give a wonderful taste. About the atmosphere and service I also can't say anything negative

I had to wait a few hours in Bern. I could do that well here. The service was attentive and friendly, the food was good. The quiet atmosphere is ideal for small meetings. Directional instructions could be heard again and again in the background. I don't know if this restaurant is affiliated with a theater, so it might get a little louder after the performance.

Comfortable restaurant with upscale food and casual atmosphere. Good vegetarian options. Nicely presented and tasty dishes with interesting combinations that mostly work (one exception was a chocolate dessert with unedibly hard parts). Expensive, but in line with food quality.

I was invited to a business aperitif, so I can only rate the aperitifs. These were nicely prepared but I think they could have had a little more spice. The location is otherwise very cozy. What irritated me a bit was the coach in front of the clothes rack. This was a bit uncomfortable for us to hang up our jackets as well as for the people sitting there. The service was very friendly, knew what they had in stock and the recommendations were perfect. All in all, have a nice evening and I'll definitely be back for dinner in the near future.

As always, it was a great evening at the Fourth Wall, attentive and friendly service, delicious food and a cozy atmosphere. When we made the reservation by phone we were told that a jazz band would be playing, which was a great surprise for us and the band played for 2 hours with a short break. Thank you all, we'll be back! 😀

There were 6 of us and we wanted to have something to eat together on the Friday evening before our visit to the Stadt-Theter. For this reason, we made reservations extra early so that we could get to the performance on time without any stress. I had a Nüsslersalat as a starter and a fallow deer pepper as a main course. Unfortunately, the Nüssler with its dressing, beetroot and sesame brittle was incredibly sweet and not at all to my taste. In my opinion, the fallow deer pepper had nothing to do with any pepper I was familiar with. It was prepared more like a ragu. It lacked the taste of wine, pepper and the usual spices for a wild pepper. Unfortunately the curd spaetzli were dry and the whole thing was garnished with a huge piece of pointed cabbage which was probably briefly roasted and then covered everything. Unfortunately, the taste of the dish was a complete disappointment. Last but not least, it unfortunately didn't work out for us to get to the theater on time. We were 10 minutes late. As compensation, the restaurant offered us the first round. The service was very friendly and attentive, unfortunately things don't seem to work as well in the kitchen. We would have an aperitif in the restaurant again at any time. However, we cannot recommend going out to eat and will certainly not do so in the future.

The food and atmosphere here is really nice. They use local and seasonal products in their dishes, and the menu is small but has very unique and tasty options on it. The ravioli was a favourite of mine. Can't wait to come back!

A little insider tip. Away from the busy main streets, you can enjoy high-quality food and interesting variations (including delicious vegan options). The drinks and coffee are also great. I personally find the staff friendly and the atmosphere invitingly modern. There are also always cultural/musical contributions and events. Is worth a visit!

Disappointed with the service. We were greeted warmly at the beginning, but then we waited another 10 minutes until we could place our order (the restaurant had just under 8 guests). The staff preferred to stand behind the counter and chat. As we were about to leave, we were able to order, but we received no apology but only arrogant, uncomprehending looks. I find it very unfortunate. If there isn't much to do, you should take even more care of your guests.

The internet says it's open, but it's actually closed! Disappointing

The service was a bit overwhelmed. It took forever to get a card and another long time before we could order. Quality of food was good so far. I was missing something special. A place like there are 100s. Atmosphere ok.

Not much choice of dishes (the tartare was good but not worth 38.-) most of it is overpriced, you can't get a bottle of red wine for less than 55.-! I like going to (special?) restaurants but this is too much of a good thing...it's a shame.

We had dinner there a few weeks ago. Really good food reasonably priced. And friendly wait staff. They have a limited wine list which makes it so much easier to choose. Definitely going back!

Very friendly service. Unfortunately, lunch wasn't convincing. The pumpkin soup was tasty. The main course of kimchi vegetables and tofu left me hungry and a bad aftertaste.

Was disappointing during our visit. Ordered two simple dishes for lunch (a quinoa salad and a roast potato with pulled beef). Both were expensive at 29 francs, and only one of them tasted good. In addition, the bottle of tap water we ordered cost 8 francs. All in all, unfortunately too expensive for what is on offer.

Of the 5 visits, 4 were absolutely fine. The selection of drinks is extensive and many of our own creations are offered which are very tasty. Last time the drinks and service were a bit weak, which surprised me a bit. It can happen sometimes, but then something goes through. My expectation for the price segment is to remain at the same level. But that absolutely won't stop me from coming back and I definitely recommend the fourth wall. The atmosphere “hidden” in the alleys of Bern is really romantic.

Das Ambiente ist cool, der alte Bühnenboden gibt dem Lokal seinen Charme. Das Essen ist gut und nicht einfach nur 08-15. Allerdings braucht es Zeit, viel Zeit, wenn man da essen gehen will. Das mag abends ok sein, aber wenn man am Mittag über zwei Sunden benötigt für ein Standard-Mittagsmenü und ein kleines Dessert: absolut unzulänglich. Der Service ist langsam, ineffizient und vor allem unaufmerksam. Schade.
