Restaurant specializing in fondues, raclette and bourguignonne. We opted for a cheese and morel fondue and it was really excellent.

Nice cosy restaraunt with traditional food and delicious local wine. I really enjoyed their scrumptious soup with cheese and traditional Swiss raclette. Yum!

Impeccably friendly service, but poor quality of the (three-kind) fondue. Bland cheese that seemed stretched, resulting in an atypical consistency. The bread that came with it was also bland. We wouldn't have expected that in Valais.

Excellent raclette and warm welcome

Delicious raclette in a traditional chalet. Friendly staff. A bit small and busy, but definitely worth it.

We ate a Chinese fondue on the terrace. Impeccable service, delicious fondue served with very good sauces. Delicious moment.

We ordered several types of fondue to try. They were pretty good overall. For some of the types, the wine in the fondue overpowers the other flavors in the fondue too much.

The staff very welcoming. And the waitresses spoke in French so we could understand. The multiple mushroom fondue was very good.

Great Swiss food for a fair price

A pleasant restaurant serving classic Swiss cuisine such as raclette and cheese fondue. Large selection of regional wines, very friendly service. We spent a very nice evening here 😀 I recommend it!

Fondue was Not good here — tasted watery with Corn starch — don’t recommend this place if you want good fondue. And we tried 4 different types too! On the other hand, the kids food was good!

Both took the two course house menu and greatly enjoyed it. The trockenfleisch tartare was great and the fondue has a great consistency, I was missing a little bit of punch though that comes with kirsch.

There is very tasty cheese fondue here and you can also choose small side dishes. The portions are very large and the price-performance ratio is right here. The service is very friendly and you feel welcome. A very cozy atmosphere.

The staff is rather friendly and cheerful, the decor and atmosphere are well done and pleasant without being pompous. On the other hand, don't plan on eating a good raclette (11 chf per portion) it's a steal and even less the fondues which are by far the worst I've had to swallow. Too bad because the restaurant has potential but the food served is clearly not up to the asking price.

Very friendly staff, very good fondues with a large selection! For groups of 2 or more, 3 fondues can be ordered! The portions are optimal. The bread could possibly be cut a little smaller, but that's a matter of opinion. Vieux-Chalet is highly recommended, will come again!!

We had a wonderful delicious meal here. The food wash fresh and tasty. The kids meals were spot on. Service was friendly. Definitely need to book as it was packed yet the food came quickly. Highly recommend the chinoise fondue.

That was nothing. Herb butter doesn't taste good at all, potato rosti is anything but appetizing. Meat was prepared incorrectly and even suggestions for improvement were met with rejection and ridicule. Service ok, there are many good restaurants in Saas-Fee, but this one is definitely at the bottom end

Enjoyed a fine fondue Bourguignonne on New Year's Eve. The meat could have been a bit more tender, but otherwise there was nothing to complain about. The side dishes were generous and the sauces were delicious. The service was super friendly! 🙂 And very quickly despite the full house! Highly recommended, gladly again.

Choose this place for raclette or fondue but don't order anything else. The roesti (pic attached of the mushy mess) and entrecôte were extreme disappointing and the manager didn't seem to care.

Good, they have an option to have 3 different fondues, so it is a perfect way to try something new. We had the tomato fondue, classic and truffle. They were good, but honestly the classic fondue is and always will be the best option.

Pleasant staff but atmosphere much too noisy and price too high. A fondue per person and a glass of wine --> 78chf for two.

Ate cheese fondue and fondue chinoise. Cozy restaurant with lots of wood on the walls. Friendly service. The only downside is the sometimes somewhat flashy upsell. Nevertheless, highly recommended. NB: You can order regular tap water in a carafe here, which is the environmentally friendly option. Pros!

We arrived in Saas-Fee as it was starting to rain after a long hike from Gspon. We were hungry we rocked up and had the best Blt ever. We enjoyed the place so much we went back for dinner 😂 where we had the best onion soup and a lovely tomato fondue. Service is friendly and the place is sweet.

Good food but huge portions; so don’t order too much! The fries and their seasoning are simply delicious and so is the rösti - you get to add your own toppings!

Fantastic service and GREAT cheese fondue and raclette! Provided us with good recommendations on cheese selections for the fondue pot. We had the 3 flavors pot (Tomato, mushrooms and truffle), meat platter and raclette as well as a kids fondue pot which is prepared without any alcohol. The kids LOVE it!!

The service was very nice and friendly. But Vanessa and I love fondue and were really looking forward to a Valais fondue because it was recommended to us and the restaurant appeared first on Google. But the fondue was dead boring, a creamy, tasteless broth despite garlic, just a disappointment throughout. Rarely have I had such a bad fondue.

Awesome, homey and cozy place! I haven’t been in such a nice, charming local restaurant in a while. Great wine selection, delicious fondue and really good plate of charcuterie (local products!). The service is very welcoming. This friendly, unassuming place will make your evening, you will leave with a big smile on your face.

Abbiamo ordinato una strepitosa Fondue Bourguignonne per due. Il personale è molto gentile, simpatico e poliglotta. Data un'intolleranza al glutine e lattosio hanno fornito un menu degli ingredienti. Ci siano sentiti a casa, consigliatissimo!

Voici un restau d habitués où tout le monde se connait. La déco est stricte mais Les fondues sont bonnes et tres copieuses (pensez aux 1/2 portion). Le vin local au verre est raisonnable (4 à 5 Chf). Les serveuses parlent allemand/anglais et français. Du plexiglas séparent les tables (covid19). Menu électronique.Je recommande.
