Great restaurant. Very friendly staff, food was really good. Very pleasant inside. The view from the outside terrace is of course beautiful.

The journey is definitely worth it.

It was so delicious. Our 1 hour journey was so worth it. Just awesome! The service was very warm and the ambience was also great.

Update after about the 40th visit within 5 years: Cozy, friendly, top price-performance ratio, my absolute favorite. Affordable gastronomy at its best. From everyday to wine & dine, the perfect evening with friends or family takes place here! Daniela, Rolli and team: You are the best!

Wonderful view on the terrace with great food

We sat on the terrace with a fantastic view of the lake. It was busy but two ladies served very friendly and quickly. The food was excellent, fresh and almost a little too seasoned. The desserts were beautifully presented and much nicer than shown on the dessert menu. The prices were very cheap by Swiss standards. All in all very recommendable

Yust a l village 30 minutes walk from Treib. The Food was superb. Every meal was nicely presented. Quite a busy place, so I recommend to book a table. Staff were very helpful and friendly 😊.

EDIT 9/13: Based on the owner's response, it is entirely possible that there was simply a very unfortunate misunderstanding. Of course, I can't judge what the "normal" plate would have looked like, but the portions we received were absolutely sufficient, so that we were both full. If this was indeed a double portion of side dish, then of course that is more than fair practice. If this had been explained to us when we ordered or when we asked, it would have been completely fine. In this respect, I would like to revise the rating. I'd love to come back and try again - the location is breathtaking. -------- We had ordered a few dishes and asked for an extra plate so we could share the schnitzel. The waitress immediately offered whether the schnitzel should be served on two plates. We were happy to accept this. Unfortunately, neither the menu nor the service staff indicated that there would be a surcharge for this. In itself, that's completely ok, as it also involves extra effort and we were expecting something in the region of CHF 3-5. When we paid the bill and took a closer look at it, we noticed that a whopping CHF 12 had been charged for the extra plate. Almost 50% of the cost of the actual dish (schnitzel CHF 25.50). On the one hand, in my opinion, this is completely disproportionate and on the other hand, the service staff should have pointed out additional costs - especially if they are so high. When asked about this, the service staff reacted angrily and tried to convince us that it was completely normal. I've never been to a restaurant that charged 50% of the meal price for a second plate. After a discussion that lasted about 1 minute, the service person refunded the surcharge. But probably just because there was a lot going on and she wanted to get rid of us.

Discovered by chance during our hike, it's flawless, everything is great, from the service to the quality of the ingredients, the diversity, the care taken in putting together the plates. Even the scoops of ice cream are accompanied by redcurrants, pineapple, kiwi,... and the service is top notch, the waitresses super nice. On the other hand, remember to book, the terraces with a wonderful view are often crowded.

Great terrace with lake views and fine food

Urner cordon bleu was sensationally prepared. LOTS of attention to details. You can tell that everything is done in the kitchen to positively surprise the guest. The prices are very fair for the quality and quantity delivered. The wine list is also impressive. Highly, highly recommended. I will gladly come again.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Restaurant Volligen and was hooked from the start. The breathtaking view of the lake is definitely one of the highlights of this place. It is truly a wonderful place to enjoy a meal while admiring the picturesque scenery. The ambience of the restaurant is very appealing. The decor is stylish and modern, and the large windows mean you can enjoy the lake view from almost every table. There is also a terrace for alfresco dining, which is particularly pleasant on sunny days. The menu at Volligen is varied and of high quality. The menu offers a good selection of dishes, including both local specialties and international cuisine. The ingredients were fresh, the presentation was attractive and the taste was outstanding. The service in the restaurant was attentive and friendly. The staff was well trained and had in-depth knowledge of the menu. They were also very helpful in recommending dishes and adapting dishes to individual preferences or allergies. All in all, I had a fantastic experience at Restaurant Volligen. The combination of the spectacular view, the pleasant ambience, the high quality cuisine and the excellent service make it a place that I can fully recommend. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just want to enjoy a romantic dinner, Volligen is definitely an excellent choice.

There is a large selection of good meat dishes. These are beautifully presented. The vegetable plate is rich with lots of different vegetables and there are French fries. The service is friendly and quick. From the restaurant terrace you have a beautiful view of the lake.

Very nicely decorated dishes, I regretted my choice of cordon bleu a little because the taste of the ham in it was too overpowering for me. The tomato soup was exquisite, the spring rolls were very good, and the service was very friendly and accommodating

We went to the Volligen restaurant for the first time on Saturday evening. The view is beautiful. We were served very friendly and courteously. The cordon bleu tasted excellent and was very nicely prepared. We'd love to come back! See you soon!

A visit to the Volligen restaurant with its beautiful terrace is always a HIGHLIGHT!!! 👍👍 On Sunday evening we treated ourselves to a very fine and excellent dinner (Cordenbleu Uri) and a colorful leaf salad as a starter. Both dishes were cooked with a lot of love, prepared and served by very friendly staff 👌👍. The food was very, very fine and simply excellent 👏👌👍 big compliments to everyone 👏👍👌👌!! We rounded off the evening with a very fine coup, again prepared with love. At this place, the boss takes time personally for every single guest and greets them and later asks about their well-being, even though she herself is also involved in the work 👍👍. We will definitely come back and it is always a HIGHLIGHT with the Aschwanden family in the Volligen restaurant!!!!
