Volver Cafe, Tapas & Vinos in Luzern

The selection of tapas is very good and they are each freshly prepared. We had both vegetarian and some with meat. One service person was very friendly - unfortunately the other one almost had the feeling that she was a nuisance.

Everything was perfect. The beautiful atmosphere almost makes you feel like you are in Spain. The food was very tasty and fresh and the service was very friendly and accommodating. Any time.

Everything was perfect, very nice waiter, nice atmosphere with candlelight and the food was wonderful. All tapas, including the finest dessert. Fresh, perfect and delicious. Hats off to the top chef. The wine selection is also very good.

Super super delicious! We ordered more than the photos but they were soo delicious then we forgot to take photos! Don’t forget to order Paella in advance!

Very cheap food for 49 francs: we waited 2 hours

There were 7 of us in the restaurant. 3 people took a normal menu and it came very quickly. 4 people took tapas nuestros, we waited 2 hours for a round of all you cant eat and paid 49.-. That was my last visit.

The Volver does not meet expectations. From a culinary point of view, the tapas are a disappointment. The service tries hard, but is never really hospitable. You don't really feel comfortable in the Volver. The landlady is also moody and primarily in the mood for sales. The price for tapas a discretion is too high, especially since the portions are tiny. I cannot recommend the Volver in good conscience. To be fair, other guests seemed to have a great time.

We are always looking for special restaurants for our ladies' evenings. The Tapas a Discrecion evening on Tuesday was recommended to us. It was wonderful and for 49.- a great value for money. I would also like to recommend this restaurant to my friends and family. Ps. The service is top notch! Rarely have I had such warm service.

I'm disappointed! For 65.00 francs we got very small portions, it was nothing special, we weren't full. Price-performance ratio is not right for me. The drink is not included in the menu price.

Authentic Spanish tapas restaurant! The owner speaks Spanish and also with the staff under each other. They are very helpful, friendly and honest in helping to choose the dishes. For 2 persons there are 4-5 different tapas enough to become full. The owner is very honest on the portion size and gives recommendation how much to choose. We thought to take 2 empanadas each however with the other 4 tapas the owner admitted that it might be too much so we only took 1 each and it was perfect. The Chorizo is worth to be tried not only for the taste but also the show. The sauce is topped with brandy which will be ignited at your table. My wife who lived some time in Spain immediately said that it’s the best Chorizo she ever tried. Each and every bite is a pure pleasure of taste in your mouth and combined with the sauce an unparalleled harmony. You can easily let some ingredients be left out e.g. peperoncini on the shrimps. The cocktails are very refreshing and I can recommend the Volver Sin which is fruity, exotic and sweet but also the Sangria Light is very mouth-watering. The culinary highlight is underlined with Spanish music. This restaurant is a perfect place for a brief Spanish escape and to quickly satisfy your culinary wanderlust to Spain.

The tapas were very good. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not quite right. The portions are rather small and not intended for those who are very hungry. Spare ribs for 1 person much too little! If everyone then tries, you will almost come away empty-handed. Basically everything was very tasty and the service was absolutely great.

Magnificent restaurant with Spanish tapas, a discovery, it is less than 15 minutes from the center. It's worth it, octopus, cuttlefish, mussels, all delicious. Lovely service. If you go to Luzerne, don't hesitate.

Fantastic Food and excellent service!!! The octopus was grilled to perfection (crispy tentacles and umami flavor) and the seafood Paella was so rich with flavor!!! Service was impeccable, they offered to heat up our paella halfway and let me try their original cava (I had the one mixed with orange liquor) …we enjoyed a lot and will be back for more! 👍🏻

We spent a very nice evening at Volver. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food (tapas menu) was excellent and we really enjoyed it. The tapas were very varied and beautifully presented. The drinks were also very good. We also found the price performance to be very good. We'd love to come back!

Small, fine Spanish restaurant with authentic, delicious food and super friendly staff. Were there on Tuesday for tapas (à discretion). CHF 45.- per person for 9 tapas plus bread and four pintxos. A good price/performance ratio. However, you should have a well-filled account of patience and time, as the breaks between the tapas take quite a long time. We even briefly considered whether we should cancel the Volver adventure and go somewhere else to eat. 2.5 hours is a bit long for a dinner. But it was delicious and we were able to make the most of our interpersonal communication skills.

Just go and order the Pulpo Chef. Have some Cava. This is the place. Never had such good Pulpo. And the owner is very friendly and helpful.

Authentic tappas restaurant. It was very tasty and very friendly service.

Service: The boss was great, greeted us, showed us to the place and explained a few things. The rest of the staff doesn't understand German and is rather unfriendly. Food: Tapas were tasty, but nothing special. It should have been explained that not all tapas are served at once but in stages. In the first round, one of us only had potatoes because the others didn't like tapas.

Best gastro experience in lucerne

I have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant. We ordered takeout and everything was hot and delicious, we actually called to clarify a couple items and the staff was wonderful. Definitely definitely a must ago in Lucerne. Looking forward to dining in in the future.

Holà people, if you miss Spain you can't avoid it. You will always be warmly welcomed by boss Chris and given good advice. The team is courteous and very charming. The location is small and simple, but offers a great ambience and you feel very comfortable in "Little Spain". The Tapas à discreción on Tuesdays is a good way to get to know their wonderful cuisine if you're here for the first time. It's super filling and then a wine recommendation with it is great. The only thing my boys didn't like was the blue cheese at their first tapas. Very strong and has a somewhat recent finish on the palate. My personal favorites were the mushrooms in a garlic sauce, totally yummy. And you have to try the homemade ice tea, super refreshing, not too sweet and thirst-quenching. Gracias again for this wonderful evening Team Volver.

We came across Chris and his team while looking for the perfect catering for our wedding in the Lucerne area. We immediately had a great feeling from the first contact with Chris and after the first meeting it was clear - our wedding caterer would be the Volver - Cafe Tapas Vino Bar. And we are absolutely thrilled - the tapas for the aperitif, paella pans and grilled meat & the dessert buffet with the eye-catcher of churros with chocolate sauce was an absolute hit. It was delicious and our guests still rave about it today! We can highly recommend Chris and his team. Here you can tell that we work with passion ❤️ Thanks for everything!

The best Spanish tapas we’ve had outside of Spain! Each dish was authentic and carefully prepared, particularly the pulpo and the croquettas. The wine list was also great, particularly the ribero del duero (really hard to find in the States). Lastly, the staff were really wonderful and made us feel welcome

Highly recommended Spanish food restaurant in Lucerne. Good atmosphere, great food (the Iberian secret, the octopus...everything spectacular) and super kindness from all the staff!

The food was delicious. After eating mostly bread, cheese, and fruit for a few days of train travel, my family was happy to have a delicious sit-down meal. The salad and tortilla de patsy as was super yummy. The veggie empanadas were pretty good although tiny. The patatas bravado were okay. We’ve had better on not only Spain, obviously, but in California. Sadly, I must give this establishment a 2-star review for the poor customer service. Our waitstaff seemed upset that we didn’t have a reservation which I completely understand, she could have turned us away and we would have been fine. However, she begrudgingly sat us down as if we were an inconvenience. I get it, some days you’re not in the mood to deal with travelers. The biggest upset of the night was when we got our bill. We were charged 11CHF for tap water (4 liters). When I asked about it, she said she had to charge us for the tap water because we didn’t order an alcoholic drink. Since I was traveling with my teen children and I had to get us back to the hotel safely, I couldn’t order a drink. She could have explained the restaurant’s policy before charging is 11CHF for tap water. Poor customer service indeed.

Really amazing Tapas place and owner Chris is super friendly and welcoming! I bookmarked this place in 2019 because my friend strongly recommended it when she travelled here and we finally came after the pandemic! It has probably the best grilled octopus I ever had and we stuffed ourselves with their paella! Make sure you call them to pre-order your paella because it is totally worth it.

Yesterday we were a group of 10 women celebrating our friend's birthday. The ambiance and the 'spirit' was simply phenomenal!! 😍 The uncomplicated hospitality from the boss was great, as was the food!! The mussels were my personal highlight, but the other dishes were also wonderfully seasoned and simply a pleasure! We will definitely come back!! I can only recommend the "Volver"! ❤️❤️❤️

Food ..good; the octopus and the Iberian secret very good, garlic prawns and Padrón peppers good, correct and polite service, prices a little high in relation to quantity, quality, service a little (a lot of waiting between dishes) slow. What did shock me and for the worse is that: they offer you a pintxo (if they offer it to you it is a detail of the house) and they charge you for it, I have never seen it
