Very nice and attentive service, excellent food, starting point for hikes in idyllic surroundings, definitely worth a trip

Ready meals, sauces that don't deserve the name. Game is tough and reheated lukewarm in a steamer or microwave oven. The host is friendly but that's not enough to come back.

Good restaurant located in a fantastic place, with beautiful views of the Voralpsee lake. Fast, nice and friendly service. We ate seasonal dishes (game). Good.

I was a guest at the Berggasthaus Voralp for the second time today. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised when I was there for the first time at the beginning of the summer, because I ate really well! Everything was delicious again today! The food comes beautifully presented, which I think is important. The menu is quite “Austrian” in design, which I really like (dumplings, etc.). The portions are plentiful and filling, so unfortunately I didn’t manage dessert the second time. I think the price-performance ratio is more than fair. Often you forget the effort and what it means to be “outside” or on the mountain. The restaurant inside is very-very old. It is getting so old that it is almost “chic” again and you can literally feel the time that has passed. The terrace outside is 0815, but cozy. All in all tip-top!

Unfortunately, our trip to the restaurant was not appropriate for the area. In short, the portions are too small. A served garnished sausage cheese salad was very good. However, without bread, as an alternative a so-called garlic bread was served for 6.50 Sfr, which doesn't even begin to deserve the name. One size from the ready-made bread supplier with no garlic taste and a mysterious consistency but consistently the same size. After being informed, the bread was supposedly taken off the bill but I still had to pay for it. Unfortunately, after requesting an invoice, it could not be issued to me. After insisting on the bill, I was given a handwritten replacement without a stamp or date, which makes me very worried about how the accounting is handled in this restaurant. For the next trip I prefer alternatives and can only recommend the same to everyone else.

Super great mountain inn with delicious food and a great host in a wonderful mountain backdrop. I didn't stay overnight, but maybe that will happen later.

Good kitchen. Friendly service.

We were a group of 6 adults and 6 kids and stayed for 2 nights, and had lunch on arrival, as well as breakfast and dinner each day. The team was amazing from the booking process to the welcome, the service and the delicious food. All our needs and wishes were looked after, including providing vegan options at every meal, alongside the usual menu which has a huge choice of classic and seasonal specials. We felt very welcome and the service was really fast, even though there were many other guests and groups. Thank you to Thomas and his team, we can't wait to come back very soon!

We were there last weekend with a club (BWC Oberegg) of 10 people. The hospitality, the sympathy, the generosity and tolerance of the boss and, above all, his server Theresa could not be beaten. The game dinner served to us on Saturday evening was excellent, rich and left nothing to be desired. Our club has therefore collectively come to the conclusion that we can recommend the Gasthof Voralp to everyone with the utmost conviction.

Food is good... but the price is way too high...! I ate the cordonbleu... cordonbleu was really good but the fries were too salty and such a small portion that it would fill a bird but certainly not a normal person... But that's how the Porsche Macan that's in the parking lot is financed... And what a shame I think that man doesn't support the shops in the village but gets the meat from Brazil or Austria... People in Grabs have enough good butcher shops... It's a shame but yes the Porsche has to be paid for...! I definitely do not recommend this restaurant

We were at the top as a club. The food was great and in my opinion suits the location. The staff was incredibly friendly (and understanding, we weren't exactly the quietest). I hope that the tenant and the service daughter will stay for a long time. We had double rooms, I don't know if there are any others. Just ask. But a visit is definitely worth it. Thank you for the nice weekend.

70 years ago I was bowling in the bowling alley with other young people. Not that much has changed, except the bowling alley is no longer there. Good plate service in the garden restaurant with very friendly service.

Very friendly service. The apple strudel with vanilla ice cream looks great and is cheap at CHF 7.90.

THE LOCATION IS THE ONLY THING THAT GET 5 STARS FROM ME...

It is located away from all the hustle and bustle and has beautiful idyllic nature, and the lake is also nearby for swimming.

Salad plate with turkey strips was wonderful.

A bit uncomfortable because there were no guests there. Homemade apple strudel, very delicious. But very small portion, the price is not right. Way too expensive.

Onion roast with fried potatoes and beans. Food was fine. The price of Fr. 32.50 is a bit high.

Located in a amazing place. Surrounded by beautiful mountains. Enjoy the swiss alps with Austrian hospitality. Perfect place to find your inner peace.

Grill and Chill was sensational despite the rain

Wonderfully and quietly located in the middle of the mountains. The food is really tasty and for the price, a good portion that fills everyone up. The service staff is friendly, competent, and always has something to say

15.6.21 We were there at 29 degrees, unfortunately there was no sausage salad, due to overload, according to the waiter, with around 20 people. Then ate schnitzel, according to the picture. Salad was lame, Ruebli in Rädli was rock hard, beetroot with caraway, not for everyone. Salad dressing water! Waiter snippy, but then friendly after ordering. All in all not tasty. SORRY.

Unfortunately, the restaurant is a bit old. Food was good but too expensive. Very nice service. Post bus directly in front of the house. Within 15 minutes at Voralpsee - wonderful.

Looks great from a distance than from close-by 🤔 House is a bit outdated from the inside and the outside can use a little upgrade.

A wonderful place in the mountains, just to relax, great hiking routes that you can do from the "Voralp Berghotel & Restaurant". Hourly bus service accessible from Grabs. So if you're looking for peace and quiet you'll find it there. Just great. LG Reini & Moni

We went there for an ice cream in the afternoon... Service was great... we had ordered an ice cream parlor and a normal Coupe Denmark. The ice cream parlor consisted of 2 scoops of coffee ice cream and a little cream! No espresso, zero decoration. And costs an incredible 9.50Chf. You could just as easily order 2 scoops of ice cream with cream and pay 2.50chf less. Normal coupe Denmark costs 9.50 with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream, cream and chocolate sauce... We were there for the first and last time.

Good, fast, nice, nice terrace.

Wanted to stop in on a warm Sunday for ice cream and coffee. There were about 10 other guests in the restaurant. After waiting for 20 minutes, the waiter preferred to make small talk with other guests rather than serve us. We then actively approached the waiter and asked for a dessert menu. After complaining for a while he brought us the normal menu. Then left the restaurant again.

New people there since this year. Maybe lagged behind a bit in the first few days / weeks but is now well represented with enough staff. During our stay we found the staff and owners to be really friendly and courteous people. Food and service were great. Go up, say hello and enjoy your time.

Great food, friendly staff, amazing views

Not on foot, not by bike, no, rode up on the Harley and stopped in the Voralp. Ate a classic sausage and cheese salad surrounded by beautiful nature. In addition, a local juice (non-alcoholic) ran down the throat. The service was friendly and the food was good, so it was a successful trip.

After a trip to the Voralpsee, we were able to enjoy the breathtaking view on the large terrace in the crystal clear mountain air. The staff was very friendly even though the restaurant was very busy. By the way, it's ideal for families with children: They can put together their own menu like a kit (fixed price). Only the menu for adults could be a little more extensive - but hey; it's a mountain restaurant, not a gourmet temple.. ;-) In any case, we really enjoyed the (three-story) sandwich made from freshly cut Glarus salami - and the prices don't upset your stomach either.

We have often eaten very well in Swiss alpine huts, but unfortunately we were disappointed here. We are patient people in other ways, but drinking took more than 20 minutes. We ordered a "crisp salad" and the "Voralpburger", supposedly with minced meat from Voralprind. Since the food didn't come after another 20 minutes of waiting, we were told that they had probably forgotten about us and apologized. Due to the long waiting time, some guests have already fetched their own drinks. After another 10 minutes we had our food. But honestly: “crisp lettuce” was carelessly thrown onto the plate. The "Voralpburger" didn't taste like anything, the minced meat was compressed like it came from a commercial kitchen and safely thawed. The highlight, however, were the “vegetable chips” that came with the burger as a side dish, namely pepper chips from a standard chip pack.

For me the short stay was very pleasant. The food was good. The kitchen could put a little more love into the vegetables, so there is still potential for improvement. Otherwise great, friendly and clean.

@Florian Kunz: I just tried to correct the wrong location because I also noticed this unpleasantly. I hope Google Maps adopts it (corrected). For me it looks like this at the moment...

Since the change of ownership there has been excellent food and warm hospitality! At the moment there are a wide variety of game dishes with local meat. ATTENTION: Location in Google Maps is incorrect, enter Kurhaus Voralp to get to the right place.

What was striking was the very unfriendly manner of one of the employees, who treated us (young people aged 16-17) quite disparagingly (as an example: cashing in during(!) the meal and even closing the restaurant because some members of our travel group wanted to use the toilet, without consuming anything). This was by no means an “inn”.
