Sandra and Rolf are great hosts. The Rüttelhorn cutlet is a cutlet that still deserves the name. The menu is as you would expect it to be on the mountain. All very tasty. Definitely worth a visit.

Very friendly and authentic, tasty and reasonable prices! A new owner has been running the restaurant since February 2022. Really friendly, including the employees. We cycle past every now and then and stop for refreshment or food. Small drawback: you have a bad network. But I see this as an opportunity to put the cell phone aside!

Very cool company with extremely friendly employees! I can highly recommend the company, even on stressful Sundays the employees are always friendly and courteous. The food also tastes very good because only high-quality products are used. The meat comes from the neighboring farm and the ice cream from the Oltner ice cream producer Kalte Lust. Hospitality and quality are very important here.

Very nice place, ate well, portions just good, rather too small for big eaters. Since there was fog in the lowlands and the sun was shining on the Schmiedenmatt, we had to wait a little long for the food. We were registered as a group and sat in the dining room, so we couldn't enjoy the sun. But I'll get back to hiking......

Very nice place. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. Food was excellent. Gladly again. All in all cozy, a good place to wind down. A hotspot for me.

During this visit the hosts were simply overwhelmed. All the other mountain restaurants were closed. Long waiting times. Luckily for us it was a day of rest with time. But despite the hectic pace, the service remained friendly.

As we hike past, we make a quick stop at the rest. Vordere Schmiedenmatt, where we fortified ourselves with a variety of meat/cheese platters. The Plättli is so generous and prepared with a lot of love that you can almost describe it as a mountain platter. A big compliment to the kitchen. As always, the service staff is very friendly and helpful. The prices are fair. There is absolutely nothing wrong here. It was all the more incomprehensible when you unintentionally had to listen from the next table to someone who was always dissatisfied in a group of seniors acting loudly and being annoyed because there was no bratwurst here. It should be clear to everyone that the menu in a mountain restaurant is smaller for economic reasons. The main thing is that what is on offer is tasty, as is always the case here. Arrogant people have no place here. They only spoil the good mood of other guests. We will definitely stop here again and again and enjoy something delicious with pleasure.

Once over the hill and you're from the Mittelland in a region with a really mountainous atmosphere. Super great team on site! Rolf and Sandra gave us the basis for two great days. The rooms are nice and cozy. The breakfast is great! And the rest of the food was even better. You don't have to walk far to climb. The “bättlerchuchi”, “rüttelhorn” and “hinteregg” can be reached in a few minutes on foot. Thank you for the wonderful time Fiona and Michi

I stop by every time I drive through the "Bättlerchuchi", you are always welcome. Very nice menu. I almost always order an "Assiette froid" great side dishes, highly recommended 👍

Very nice area and the manager of the house was very friendly and attentive. The food was also delicious but the Mongolian waitress was so unfriendly and inattentive. Sorry just about her, we won't come by again. We've never experienced anything like this before.

I have made a stop while trekking the Jura Crest Trail. Gloomy and rainy day, but the friendly welcome I have received there, a good cup of coffee and a delicious pastry, all gave me a big boost for the rest of the day. Very pleasant !

We were spontaneously allowed to use the forelock as shelter during a fire department course. Very friendly innkeepers.

Very cozy, well-kept and quiet mountain inn in a quiet location. The team is very authentic, hospitable and helpful. Our room and the shared bathroom were very clean. The prices are extremely fair. This location is ideal as a starting point for hikes in the beautiful Jura hills. The 5 stars are more than deserved! Thank you very much!

Nice restaurant in the deckchairs at the front you have the best view of the curve where many 🏍️ and 🚴‍♀️ jet past 😎🤙🏻. You can go on beautiful hikes from here.

Urchiges Bergrestaurant mit gutem essen, fairen Preisen, flotter Service. Waren über Nacht da, renovierte Zimmer. Sehr nettes, umgängliches Wirtepaar. Hier ist der Gast eben Gast, gibt auch abends um 21 uhr noch einen Kaffee auf der Terrasse zum Sonnenuntergang. Sehr gerne wieder! Grosser Parkplatz, Bikeständer.

Die Gegend und die Fernsicht hier oben ist wunderbar. Sehr schöne Gegend um mit dem Motorrad auszufahren. Leider ist es hier nicht gut um sich zu verpflegen. Freiluftwartsaal. Nach einer guten Viertelstunde bin ich ohne etwas bestellen zu können wieder abgefahren und nach Hause durch die bunten herbstlich gefärbten Wälder gerauscht.

Es war eine mega feine Metzgete.

Sehr gutes Restaurant. Preiswert und gut. Waren mit dem Motorrad dort und wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und bedient.

Die Wirtsleute sind sehr gastfreundlich. Bisher habe ich dort nur Käseschnitte gegessen, welche aber die Beste war, welche ich bisher in der Schweiz bekommen habe. Das Gastlokal ich liebevoll dekoriert. Man fühlt sich hier wie daheim.

Nach einer grösseren Wanderung kamen wir zu diesem Restaurant und wollten etwas essen. Die Karte ist nicht allzu grosse, doch was geboten wird liess und ratlos werden. So viele feine Gerichte. Die Hausspezialität; Schweinssteam mit Pommes und Salat gab dann den Ausschlag. Dies wurde auf einer schönen Holzplatte angerichtet, der Salat individuell verfeinert und alle in einer guten Menge aufgetischt. Dies genossen wir bei herrlichem Wetter draussen und hörten ausser den Kuhglocken nichts. Ja der Besuch hat sich gelohnt und kann weiter empfohlen werden.

Wunderschöner Ort mit einem tollen Bergrestaurant. Super nettes Wirtepaar mit freundlichem Personal. Sehr feines Essen mit regionalen Produkten. Auch besteht die Möglichkeit Trockenwurst und Käse zu kaufen. Immer gerne wieder.

Das neue Wirtepaar hat sich gut eingelebt und verwöhnt ihre Gäste wie früher von Romy und Kurt. Weiter so!

Rustikales, typisches Stammtisch-Café-Restaurant im Juragebirge wo die Zeit stehen blieb. Mit einfacher, aber guter Speisekarte und toller Aussicht nur auf Gebirge rundherum. Essen während Öffnungszeiten rund um die Uhr möglich. Ideal um nach, während, oder vor dem wandern einzukehren. Gute Parkmöglichkeiten, im Winter aber schwer bis nicht zugänglich mit dem Auto.
