The view is magnificent... There is a view of Zurich lake and mountains... Also for kids it can be fun... The food is great.... There are friendly employees... If you ever pass by, be sure to visit these places... To taste the food... I strongly recommend it....

Great restaurant with a great view of Lake Zurich and the Alps (they seem so close when there is a foehn wind). Online reservation with the request for a “table by the window” worked very well! Very friendly and quick service and fine cuisine. Cordon Bleu with fries or rösti croquettes and vegetables were very good! Afterwards we went to mini golf: the facility is kept very clean and the surface of the courses is in very good condition.

Sunday brunch ..absolutely recommended even with children. Indoor playroom for kids...outdoor play area...minigolf...animals...

Highly recommended for brunch, friendly staff

Football field, playground, huge slide, goats, mini golf, all available and great around the restaurant! Large terrace in summer! Great coffee, nowhere else in the region! I wish I had a better beer but that's just a matter of taste (they have Feldschlösschen) which is also great for a walk and still has allpackas within walking distance.

We ate very well and got a nice window seat. Service (Manu) was very nice. Will definitely come back.

Waitress very unfriendly and brings me apple cakes instead of apple strudel. I asked 4 times if you had apple strudel, said yes and brought apple cakes.

Also suitable for vegans. Very friendly staff, fine food. We went for brunch, lunch, dessert or dinner. We love this place. Sometimes we just have too many children (volume)

I enjoyed going to Schönegg for 20 years. Great view of the mountains, home-style food, very friendly staff. These were the characteristics of this restaurant. Yesterday the so-called fish crispies contained little fish and the cordon bleu was clearly thawed... As for the staff, they seemed stressed and weren't particularly friendly. Very sad. To save yourself, you can still enjoy the landscape. But whether it is enough is questionable

We've been to the restaurant a few times and it's always been good. Long-standing staff who remain friendly even when there is a big rush. Also great with children, as there is a playroom for when the weather is bad. A playground outside in summer. Fantastic view of Lake Zurich.

The food is amazing, the views are nice. I liked good here for brunches and lunch. It's a little bit on the expensive side, if you have large amount of ppl. Otherwise it's a good place to warm up and have some food.

We had Fondue Chinoise à discretion. First there was a mixed salad then fries and meatballs, no idea why. The meat came much later with the hope that everyone would already be full... the sauces were not homemade and therefore not good. The chicken was ok and the beef was very dry. Overall I would say not recommended.

The view is phenomenal, service is a disaster to say the least, pure demotion followed by eye rolling when ordering and some not even able to speak a word in German. The food was very okay, but unfortunately you could cook much better at home. However, we only had the grandmother's table, perhaps the dishes a la carte are better

They are registered on the Zölliaki website, but the offer of gluten-free dishes is very limited.

The food was very, very good. Service employees arrogant and unfriendly. The playroom looked like a mess (see picture). Broken lamps and all broken toys. The ambience in the playroom is not appealing at all. It's a shame, the location is very nice.

It's a shame, unmotivated service, no idea. The colleague's answer was that he was a temporary worker, what?? Undefinable, undeniable dry tofu, not defined as vegi. Cordon bleu from the cutlet, something different, but not on the bone, boring cheese that flows into the plate when cut, i.e. onto the salad on which it was lying. Too bad, never again!! The complaint was dismissed by the unmotivated, shuffling waiter with excuses, no sorry, nothing. I don't expect to get something for free, but to be taken seriously as a paying customer. After clearing away we were left behind and were not asked for coffee, dessert or anything else we wanted. You then had to ask twice to pay. It's a shame for the business in a best location, with the best view

Parking spaces upstairs near the restaurant and downstairs near the main street. Warmly welcomed and escorted to the table. Very nice view of the lake. Really cozy garden restaurant. Menu offers something for every guest. Wine list very comprehensive. Service very friendly, organized and prompt. Food very good, good portion. The price is absolutely right for the overall package. Gladly again.

We had lunch here. The service was great and friendly. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. When ordering the drink, it became apparent that the offering was very modest, if not meager, for a place like this. There is no non-alcoholic wheat beer, just a normal non-alcoholic Feldschlössli. Sour must is completely unknown! The waitress didn't even know that such a drink even existed. A pity.

The grangma's table ist the best solution for a group event. All you can eat and drink for a fantstic reasonable price.

We were there for brunch. The Resti is in a great location, has a great outdoor area and a great playground. The brunch buffet was ok, but nothing special. At half past 12 we had to clear the table for the lunch guests. This was already communicated on the homepage, but it was still somehow strange.

Great excursion destination for the whole family, mini golf course, unfortunately full of sun, but still fun. Some animals and a great playground next to the restaurant. The view is really great Unfortunately, the service in the restaurant is not satisfactory for such a location. We wanted to take a seat outside when the waiter came and told us that we had to vacate the table in an hour because it was reserved, all well and good. After that it took a good moment until we were able to order and received our order. We ordered the fruit plate with ice cream and I specifically pointed out that there shouldn't be any cookies or anything like that on it because I have celiac disease. He noted this and ordered, well, we got the fruit plate with crumbled cookies. I don't want to know what I would have gotten if I had ordered a real gluten-free dish. Probably a few days of stomach pain and suffering. My complaint wasn't addressed in any detail plus the staff unfortunately only pays attention to regular customers. Very unfortunate..

Great service as always. We even bought a half crate of wine to go. Lovely potato soup to start followed by a seasonal summer salad with chicken and a house favourite/ specialty the Züri kalbgeschnetzeltte. Cute children’s menu too! Great Austrian rose wine to go with our choices. Afterwards the little one was able to play on the extensive playground with the highlight being the zip line and monster slide alongside the adventure climbing frame. Alternatives were of course the free to use Bobby cars / tractors and the innovative mini golf course

The waitress before helping us had talked to another couple and I heard her hurrying them up like "I can go to someone else or you are ready to order". The same person ordered both drinks wrong for us. A red wine instead of white and a different beer. When I said that to the poor waiter who brought it, instead of apologizing and bringing what we really asked, he showed us what was wrongly written on his papers by that waitress. The food was nothing special. The view was very good but I would glagly change it to a better service and tastier food. I have no suggestions on how to improve the things other than probably to change a person who is responsible for hiring the cooks and for training the staff.

Service was very unfriendly. Several orders were forgotten (1 menu and 2 drinks). When asked, the eyes were rolled and it was still only brought after about 10 minutes. The plate was “slammed” onto the table in annoyance. The food was mediocre, but very nicely prepared.

The only thing I can criticize is the very uncomfortable garden chairs.

We had a delicious beef tartare and fries with schnitzel. Service was very friendly. We will be back.

Great child-friendly restaurant with a great view over the lake. Play facilities with a playground, mini golf, bobby cars and animals. The food was delicious and beautifully prepared. However, the service leaves a lot to be desired. Staff seems overwhelmed and has no overview. You had to ask for the dessert menu and coffee yourself. A bit of a shame for the surrounding area.

Pretty nice place with stunning view on the Zurich lake towards southern part. Outside tables with sun-umbrellas giving pleasant shade during hot days. Friendly and good service, reacting quickly. Nice selection of food and beverages, vegetarian options included, wide choice of wines. Kids friendly with drawing books keeping them quiet for a while :) tasty desserts available. I definitely recommend this nice place.

Food was okay. Ambiance cozy. Service friendly. The view must be great in summer on the outdoor terrace overlooking the lake. Unfortunately it was still too cold.

Perfect location. Luckily - otherwise there would never be so many guests. Price-performance inappropriate, respectively. just for the view. A pity.

The Schönegg restaurant is worth a detour. Whether with or without children, when the weather is nice you can enjoy the terrace with a view of and over Lake Zurich and the excellent food. The service staff is competent, friendly and courteous. The large playground next door, the games room, the small fleet of vehicles outside and the mini golf course next door are further amenities.

The view of the Schönegg is and remains great. The atmosphere comes primarily from the terrace. There's not much going on inside, at least in the summer, and the interior is also getting a bit old. I've never had the marrow bone as a starter before and it was very tasty. 😊 The fish crispies were a bit too dry for me, but my colleagues liked them. So I was either unlucky or picky. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Anyway, if you want to have a cozy evening on a beautiful terrace and also enjoy an affordable meal, this is the place for you. 👍

Had the Angus Burger, sorry bland + dry with a little bit of fries with mustard...for a whopping CHF 36.50. I praise the fine Angus burger from Freihof, Horgen, for a very fair CHF 22.50

The view is simply amazing! And this is combined with the nice ambience that can be found in the terrace! The food available for breakfast was overall not bad at all and the price seemed therefore quite fair. We really enjoyed the minigolf afterwards! Very good experience overall that is highly recommended for a Sunday brunch!

Super-duper. We were at Easter brunch. Good and fine selection. The Easter Bunny also came to visit the children. Bravo great for the kids too.

Went for brunch on Good Friday and it was really good. Service was great and food too. The existing outdoor activities then encouraged exercise after eating with a full stomach.

Mini golf was great and I can highly recommend eating at the Schönegg restaurant.

We were there during the week and at lunchtime :)). I don't think I've ever had such a great lunch menu as there :). Great soup, salad and main course and all for a good price :). It was delicious and enough of everything :). The staff was very friendly and the chef even asked if it tasted good :). We'll definitely eat there again :). Highly recommended for lunch :))).

Great mini golf course, restaurant unfortunately not recommended. To the restaurant: Pro: Cozy interior, boss very friendly. Cons: Despite being underutilized, the table had not yet been cleared. However, after some time this was done. Since the serving daughter couldn't concentrate on clearing up AND ordering drinks at the same time, we had to wait again. When we finally got the drinks, the menu was forgotten for the second time, so I ordered them a third time from another server. The tartar was way too spicy, even though it wasn't ordered that way. The fish crispy "so la la", only the chicken nuggets and fries for the little one were ok. I would have liked to have told the waitress this, but unfortunately they didn't ask; hence this review. What the waitress didn't forget was to ask about the tip: "That's 126.-, how much can I tip?" Conclusion: it's a great thing to play mini golf with children, but you'd rather go to McDonalds to eat, it'll make the children happy, it's easy on your wallet and your nerves.

Location, ambience, outdoor area design and food are top. Long waiting times to order and for the food to arrive are to be expected, especially when there is a lot going on.

Unfortunately the Röstis were burnt and the rest of the food was too salty. It also didn't taste freshly made, which I find outrageous for these prices. Our reservation was also not saved in the system, even though I was able to show a reservation confirmation and number. So we had no space in the festive area and were stuck in a corner. 2 stars for the nice service

Pleasant atmosphere, the food was very tasty, the service was friendly and accommodating. Overall, highly recommended. Unfortunately the menu has been the same for a long time and has therefore become uninteresting if you want to eat something new.

Great location above Lake Zurich. Nice service. Food (for company) but unsatisfactory. Huge but carelessly served salad bowl. Entrecôte tough, bacon beans burnt. Raspberry ice cream for dessert like syrup. What a pity. In any case, we won't be coming back because of the food!

We were invited for a candlelight dinner. After arriving, the host led us to the square, into a hall with beautifully set tables. A young waiter greeted us friendly and started with the order. The menu was served to us without a long wait, and the drink replenishment was perfect. We enjoyed the evening and can only thank you. Everything worked out great and the food, service and hospitality were top notch. We wish the host and his staff all the best.
