a little out of the main town so we had to take a taxi there & back due to winter weather. It is a high end place & we received good service & also very nice food. Of course the price is not low - but for Switzerland & the quality we found reasonable.

Tried their 3 course menu, price is reasonable given you are in Switzerland where almost everything is expensive. Staff are not friendly and always in a hurry.

The visit to the Schweizerhaus was absolutely worth it. The burger (with fries) we ordered was very tasty and you can tell that fresh, high-quality ingredients are used. The balsamic onions and the juicy beef in particular give the burger a unique taste. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive.

Great ambience. Top service. We had the 3 course menu including wine pairing. Unfortunately, the portions in the menu were very small (compared to the regular dishes served at the tables around us). Our tip: It's better to spend a few chf more and order the dishes a la carte. Almost all dishes were very lightly salted. The wine pairing was OK. The dessert wine was top. Overall, a great evening in a very harmonious chalet atmosphere and with very nice and attentive service. Unfortunately, the food (menu) was just ok for us overall. But we would love to come back and try the classic dishes.

Our absolute favorite restaurant in Engelberg. This is also, but not only, due to the accessibility of Neuschwändi on foot. The food is of excellent quality and second helpings are no problem. The spaetzli are highly recommended as a side dish. Children are also well catered for. There is even a playroom for small children. At some point we'll do wine and dine. Here you can choose between 3 and 6 courses with matching wine. You can also choose this menu without wine. See you soon.

While looking for lunch in Engelberg we came across the Schweizerhaus. The lunch menu was high quality and very fairly priced. I particularly liked the fact that, in addition to the main room, there is also a bar with a relaxed atmosphere where you feel comfortable even in outdoor clothing. Excellent country restaurant, local food. They have a small stream in their yard where they raise fish to eat. We focused on the meat. We were in the month of November, which is the hunting season. I ate a venison filet which was excellent, plus risotto, and a split was served in the center of the table. For a first course I ordered fresh mushroom soup, with added mushrooms. Amazing soup. We also ordered a Viennese schnitzel which was excellent, and in addition we also ordered matchstick fries, very thin, delicious. The service was above and beyond, excellent service. It is recommended to reserve a place in advance. As we were very satisfied with the dinner, we returned again during our holiday in Engelberg. 3 people, including two glasses of dessert wine and service cost 190 Swiss francs.

We arrived in beautiful Engelberg and were looking to taste the delicacies of the place. The restaurant that was recommended to us is located some distance from the center of the town.. next to it is a lake from which the dishes are fished for the plate (for the fish lovers)... to our disappointment, the small and very expensive dishes were bland and tasteless. The cooking is novice and uninvested. The fish is steamed...cauliflower boiled in hot water as well as the potatoes..the service was very kind.very expensive and minimalistic..

Huge impression, not tasty food. The bread and butter was delicious. The soup was lukewarm and served in a small saucer like an upside down coffee cup. The food is really not tasty and the price is sky high. Better to eat pizza than this pomposity of the restaurant.

If you want to find a nice restaurant in a Swiss mountain village, it is recommended to continue through the village until you actually leave it again. Then you often find a real Swiss restaurant there, usually with great views and typical Swiss food. Had pumpkin soup here with Schwytzer platte (collection of cheese and sliced ​​meat with bread). Just really nice in a quiet and beautiful environment. Worth recommendation.

We visited the "zum Schweizerhaus" with a group of 12 people. The food was extremely good and so was the timing so that everyone received their menu at the same time. There was shade (in the garden) and no one had to sweat: great. The service was also very professional, friendly and attentive. The prices are a bit high but if the package offered is right, that's fine for me. Highly recommended.

I was so impressed by this restaurant that I would travel 1 hour (from home) just to dine here. We were warmly welcomed in a wonderful atmosphere. The food was simply amazing!!! However, making a decision between the different creations will not be easy. The two ladies served us very courteously. Recommendation: Capuns, white wine risotto, osso buco and if you're craving something sweet, the homemade apple sorbet is absolutely amazing! I could eat by the kilo.
