Food was good. The service could be better.

We were in Lucerne for the first time today. Were guests at the Taube inn and can only report positively. The food and drinks are good and the ambience outside right on the water rounds everything off. The service was super friendly and had a good sense of humor :-) Highly recommended.

Menus were translated into English. The food was nice. The waiter was very polite. In general, a good meal.

Mixed meal. The waiter could not explain everything, did not know certain ingredients in the dishes offered. Non-homemade fries, very expensive for the quality of the dish and the service offered.

Loved the atmosphere but the food and service didn’t exactly live up to expectation. The (Älpermagronen) macaroni was under-seasoned and its one saving grace was the beautifully fried onion topping. The the rösti wasn’t well seasoned or cooked (resembled steamed potatoes instead of panfried potatoes). One look at the bacon in the picture should tell you how it was prepared; next to no char and rather chewy. Beers were just ok. Service was a little spotty but nothing too bad. One thing to be said for this place were that they were much more affordable than other options in the area.

The food was good, but I think it's excessive to charge an additional 10 francs for a spoon.

Traditional house with home-style cuisine in an enchanting ambience. Here is the Lucerne dish, the Chügeli pie, although not the original "round with lid", but served uniquely and very delicately prepared. The portions are not overly large, but are elegantly presented and can easily be incorporated into a multi-course menu. The prices are a bit high, but the quality of the food, the service and the historical location make up for it.

The food was phenomenal! I got the Chügelipastete - Lucerne puff pastry and my husband got the pork schnitzel. Both were fantastic! Afterwards the cider sorbet and apple fritters topped it all off. Great meal, beautiful restaurant!

Typical restaurant in the center of Lucerne. Very nice and welcoming place. We tried the classic cordon bleu, the vegetable rösti, the breadcrumbs and the meringues for dessert: all excellent. Courteous and attentive service. We will be back!

This restaurant is delicious! I ordered the roast beef with potatoes and vegetables and it was the perfect portion size and delicious! My mom and I split the apple fritters and I would highly recommend. SO GOOD.

We, four guests, ate the suggested daily menu. There was nothing to complain about as everyone enjoyed it. The service was very courteous and the kitchen was ready. It worked for us today, so five stars for this service.

This traditional restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere. While the comforting classics are satisfying but, in my opinion, not extraordinary. The service staff we had (a lady) was very attentive and efficient and could anticipate our needs even before being asked. With prices standard for the area, it's a decent option for those craving a taste of Switzerland in Lucerne.

The alpine macaroni was amazing! I also had a side of rösti. The portions were huge and service was excellent and fast.

Very good restaurant in Lucerne. Despite we didn’t have any reservation, we were attended properly and with the warmest regards from our Portuguese friend Paulo who suggested the very fine Suisse pinot noir. I do recommend.

Well, the taste of the food is salty and ordinary compared to the price... and 13 euros for two bottles of water... it's a bit pricey. I recommend going only if you have money to spare. 2 main dishes and 2 bottles of water cost about 100,000 won. The service people They're very kind and nice. They even gave us more bread as a service, but I don't want to go more than twice.

The lamb stew and the traditional rosti were very tasty. Service was great. Really nice and traditional decor.

Had always heard about the mild racism that’s present in this country but had never experienced it in multiple visits to this country. Only sweet people. To be as impartial as possible, I’ll only lay out facts. We were 3 of us and there were tables available outside and inside. When we went inside, the lady at the bar was getting the table prepared for the couple in front of us. I asked for a table for three and got a snap reply that the restaurant is fully booked. This despite multiple tables that were empty and this being off season here. I will not say that the reply was race fuelled, but the fact that a Caucasian couple were getting their table ready and the glaring empty tables made me take the couple of steps needed to bring me to this conclusion. What is not subjective is the vitriolic and rude reply I got from the person working the bar. We went down the road to a cafe and enjoyed a wonderful lunch!

Great place for Swiss cuisine and drinks!

I went to get Rösti, but it was sold out, so I ordered Alpine macaroni and mountain beer, which was recommended. The staff were very friendly, and an older white female staff member even gave me menu recommendations. English wasn't smooth, but they communicated kindly. It came to about 55,000 Korean won, so even though I'm a big eater, I felt like the portion was quite large. Beer was just so-so Since it was Saturday, all the stores were full, so I walked around. I went in around 8 o'clock and the atmosphere inside was nice. The price seems to be average considering the surrounding area.

Very correct and traditional dishes

The food was delicious, the atmosphere was fantastic, and our server Paulo was great! He was friendly and funny and recommended a lovely wine. I highly recommend eating here for authentic Swiss cuisine. The rösti, veal, beef stroganoff, and apfelküchlein were delicious! Reservations are easy to make and also recommended.

Wonderfull retaurant with home atmospfere, very fine"roesti" and beer. Reasonable prices.

Located in Lucern this restaurant is situated in a nice area of the town next to the river. We made reservations at 7:30pm on a weeknight requesting a river view. When we arrived, the host advised us that they do not hold requested reservation seating. Seems quite odd? We did get seated at a vacant table outside … so a reservation was not needed, but the restaurant was quite busy. The meal was delivered and it was pretty authentic for a Swiss restaurant, but overall nothing special with this location and the food was OK.

Be sure to book as it gets busy!

Staff were welcoming and friendly despite I didn't have any reservation (Friday lunch) and it was late (14.00) I had a very nice röstli and a fine wine. Atmosphere and decoration are unbeatable. I want to come back again in spring! Thanks for having me!

My wife and I greatly enjoyed the local cuisine. We had the rosti and schnitzel. One of the best food we had during our vacation. It is a must visit for me when in Lucerne. Our server was very attentive and helpful as well. We will return!

The Swiss food was better than I expected, but the seasoning was a bit strong. Among the 5 foods, only the fried pork chop and French fries are not recommended, but the rest are good and delicious. Except for one of the waiters who had a general attitude towards us Asian tourists, the overall evaluation of the restaurant was good. If you want to eat traditional Swiss food, you can try it.

Very friendly, super tasty and cooked seasonally! It was at the upper limit for our budget. But totally ok for Lucerne standards and every bite was worth the money! The menu in dialect is the icing on the cake that makes a visit even more unforgettable.

I ordered Alpine Macaroni here, i liked it, had a good taste. Friendly staff, good atmosphere, with a nice view of river and city.

A reservation should be made here! The restaurant has several places to choose from. Inside, right in front of the building and still right on the river. Here you should either not want to talk or talk loudly. It's pretty loud here because of the weir. However, it doesn't harm the ambience. The portions are very large. Accordingly, so do the prices. For 4 people, we were around 200 francs. But I still thought the prices were reasonable. In proportion to size and taste. The waitresses are very friendly and customer-oriented.

Everything was very good! I think it was all homemade. We had the specialty Rösti, bacon, tomato and raclette and the cordon bleu. Truly incredible, nothing to say! I recommend 100%!

We were here for dinner and luckily we had a reservation. The employee was very friendly, courteous and attentive. The atmosphere is rustic, cozy and well-kept. To eat there was a cold platter and a salad. The main course is the Lucerne Rösti & meatballs. Everything was delicious, beautifully presented and almost way too much. Price and performance excellent in our opinion. We would definitely like to come back. Thank you & stay as you are!

DON’T RECOMMEND. WAITER STEALS! We are on our honeymoon. We ate here last night right outside on the water. Our waiter in the picture swiped my phone. It was sitting on the table, not even an inch from my hand, It happened so fast, he was getting our drink order and then my phone was just gone. I was looking for it, and people kept looking at him and me. My husband asked him if he had it, people kept looking at him and the station and he said ohhh ohh and went to his station and picked up my phone, he came up to me with my phone asking if it was mine and was like trying to unlock it, until I took it back out of his hand.. No apology or anything. it was so bizarre. I was confused, and shocked. It happened so fast. But I want to warn people out there that this man might steal your stuff. I’m very lucky that there were people around and that I got my phone back.

Delicious. Be sure to try the cheesecake with a large salad! We had a super friendly waitress named Elena. She gave us a great spot right on the water even though we hadn't made a reservation. Her food recommendations were also great. All the employees were super nice. Absolute recommendation.

I'm with guests from the USA in the restaurant of the Taube Inn and I'm all in good hands. The staff was extremely friendly and made you feel welcome straight away. The atmosphere is very traditionally Swiss, and the atmosphere is great for foreign guests. The food is really authentic. It only looks good locally and every single one is a treat. Mini guests and I felt like we were at home and it was like having a meal in the Swiss kitchen. The central location in the old town made it super easy to do some sightseeing. D'Kapellbrugg is just a short walk away. What's more, authentic and high-quality Swiss cuisine is absolutely delicious, which is exactly what you're looking for at Gasthaus Taube. I'm sure it'll be right for me!
