Wöschi in Zürich

We were guests of Stephanie and David in the Wöschi for the first time and were immediately impressed. Hospitality is not just on paper, but is lived in all facets during our visit. The dishes were a feast for the eyes and the palate and the wine pairing was perfectly matched to the menu. We can highly recommend a visit to the Wöschi!

Nestled by the picturesque Zurich lake, Wöschi is a culinary haven boasting a stunning dining room with high ceilings and ample natural light streaming through beautiful windows. The communal table at the center adds a convivial charm to the ambiance, fostering a sense of shared experience among diners. Service at Wöschi is great – knowledgeable, friendly, and pleasantly informal, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant exclusively offers a surprise menu, ensuring every visit is a unique culinary adventure. During our experience, we decided for the five-course option, with each dish showcasing the chef’s mastery in blending flavors and textures. From salmon to veal, every dish presented intense flavors, adorned with artistic plating, and served in perfectly sized portions. The dessert, featuring refreshing citric fruits, provided a perfect conclusion to the meal. While the wine list may not be extensive, the selection covers a range of styles. However, opting for the wine pairing proved to be a wise choice, enhancing the flavors of each course. Overall, Wöschi offers a memorable dining experience, combining exceptional cuisine with picturesque views and impeccable service.

It's an amazing place. Food was delicious and service wonderful. We enjoyed every dish and the wine. The restaurant is spacious and has a very cosy, nice atmosphere. The view of the lake is a bonus. We will definitely be back.

The hostess of the restaurant is very friendly, and it's evident they know how to make guests happy. Located by the lake, you can enjoy the view through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The food is an experience, the service is extremely attentive and the location on Lake Zurich is very atmospheric, especially in the evening. A perfect dinner. good atmosphere, fantastic service; focused on details; and exceptional food. Everything is wonderful.

The conclusion first: We were there for Valentine's Day and walked out later completely happy. Special requests as part of the reservation were charmingly taken into account. The service was calm, confident and extremely pleasant. Every course was a new WOW experience and every bite was a pleasure. If you want to do something good for yourself and your companion, a visit to the Wöschi is highly recommended. We'll definitely be happy to come back if we get the chance!

Enjoyed the 4 and 5 courses set menu and were pleasantly surprised by the Chef creations. There is no 'a la carte' option, but this was clear and we wanted to go for the menu anyway! The ambiente is for casual fine dining, feels relaxed in the areal which used to be the 'washing place' for zurich city. Nice looks through the tall windows over the zurich lake is also a plus!

Spectacular food and great owners. Don't let the negative reviews put you off. They are all from the last owner. Since the change of ownership, the Wöschi restaurant has only received positive reviews and one Michelin star. Be sure to go and try it out for yourself.

As big fans of 20/20 and David Klocksin's cooking, we were super excited to visit his new joint in Wollishofen. Fantastic food and very welcoming service. You can really tell there is a lot if heart in what David and Stephanie are doing here. We are looking forward to many more visits.

We celebrated at Wöschi our Christmas Team Dinner (around 45/50 people) and we fully reserved the restaurant exclusive. Atmosphere and location were amazing. Food was also good; we had a fix Menu that was chosen previously with the Restaurant manager and it was delicious. Service and the people working there are really friendly and flexible in adjusting all our requested. The dinner was a success thanks to Staff at Wöschi and the nice food.

Attention: There have been new operators (David and Stephanie) since December 2022, and the new “Wöschi” restaurant exceeds all expectations. Nothing to do with anything that was in there before. The atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed and elegant, the hosts are incredibly friendly and authentic, and the food is a real treat. Reservations are definitely advisable as it is quite popular. :) we'll definitely be back!

We visited Wöschi for the surprise brunch and were blown away. The location is fantastically located, modern and very comfortable. The brunch dishes convinced us through and through, visually and taste-wise. The service was also great and the whole Wöschi team is super friendly and accommodating. However, in an exchange with the owner, we learned that the brunch will only be offered until the end of the year. However, the surprise dinner should be at least as good – we will definitely come back and try it!

We had a great summer team dinner at the end of August. The Wöschi hosts were super helpful and very flexible with our requirements, from the inquiry to the billing. We enjoyed a great aperitif on the terrace. Afterwards we had the restaurant on the ground floor exclusively for our group. We sat at a large table and enjoyed a very high quality Tavolata. We liked the food, the service and the ambience and the entire team felt very comfortable. Thank you for a great team evening with you!

If you could give more than 5 stars, we would definitely do so - we celebrated our wedding reception at Wöschi and have eaten there several times, whether for brunch or an exquisite dinner. It's always a pleasure, the food (whether vegi, meat or vegan) is an absolute dream and the service is impeccable! Not only is the location super beautiful and in a great location, the ambience is always just right, and the accessibility with a wheelchair and the good selection of wines are particularly noteworthy. It was a wonderful afternoon with you in the Wöschi. We were warmly welcomed with a very tasty aperitif. There was something for every taste and our guests felt very comfortable and welcomed. The tavolata was simply outstanding. Every single one of the dishes was delicious and together a true taste experience. The dessert rounded the whole thing off perfectly. Very fine food, service is great

Anyone who cooks at such a high level and advertises themselves as a 'casual fine dining' restaurant has to be prepared for demanding guests. If you can only offer one type of beer (Aargauer Grossbrauerei) and the service recommends a Riesling Spätlese as an alternative as a dry white wine with the aperitif, the start to the evening is bumpy. The courses are then of a high standard, beautifully presented and carefully cooked with a lot of know-how. However, the portion size varies from guest to guest, which I attribute to the 'casual' nature of 'fine dining'. In short: I'm whining on a high level here - all in all, it was a pleasant surprise to eat in this 'laundry room'.

Super nice restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. The food was just to die for! My companion ate “normally”, I ate without gluten, lactose and soy. Not only was it wonderfully delicious; The waitress didn't bat an eyelid and just said, "We'll manage it." I've actually never experienced that before. We'll definitely be back! :)

My husband and I were able to celebrate our wedding in Wöschi. We were very happy with everything from A to Z. The food, the service, the ambience - everything was perfect! Comments or special requests on our part were accepted and implemented without any “ifs and buts”. Before the wedding, we were in constant contact with Stephanie to discuss all the details so that we could have the perfect wedding celebration. A big thank you to Stephanie, David and the team for your hard work! We have absolutely nothing to complain about.

Surprise brunch fine, but not very surprising. Fine bread & confit! Eggs Bene very fine. Unfortunately, orange juice is not freshly squeezed, plus vending machine coffee with UHT milk. Drinks do not correspond to the standard that the restaurant exudes.

I am comparing the experience based on the price I pay. Food wise, it was creative and beautifully presented. The use of ingredients was matching well for each dish. What I like the most is the use of rice crackers on the fish skin. The crispy rice pieces combined with the fish gives an awesome crispy texture that went beyond expectation. However the edamame underneath the fish became overcooked. In overall, I was served starter, second course, main course and dessert. The starter itself hit a high note directly and was very pleasant. However the second and main course stagnates and did not improve much compared to the starter. In my opinion, there should be a progressive increase of experience. On the other hand, there a a few repeats of the same decorating ingredients such as pickled carrot, tomato/paprika puree and green oil. This green oil is however slightly different in each dish but having the same exact color so I am not sure if they are made from the same ingredients. If ingredients are different then the color should also differ so as not to give the impression of repetition which can be a disappointment. Service wise, I was greeted directly upon entry and was introduced the menu immediately. I personally appreciate this high level of welcome. It was nice that every dishes were explained in detail. However the disappointment comes when each courses were served at least 10-15 minutes after the end of each course. The worst is the dessert being served after 30 minutes of waiting from the main course. In total I was in the restaurant from 6.30 till 9.30. It is way too long for a 4 course meal. Dishes should be served maximum 5 minutes after the end of each course so the appetite is not lost. Too bad there were no one standing by to check who was done and not. To be fair, the dessert was pretty impressive as the texture and temperature of ingredients highly varied in a single plate, giving a sense of adventure to end the meal, but I think this feeling should be given during the second course. In conclusion, given the price, I think it is ok to visit Wöschi. The food is impressive but I am not willing to wait so long for every course. Like a movie playing and pausing in between.

Today we were there for brunch for the first time. Nice place. The food was very good, including fine bread, plaited bread and croissants. The service was disappointing, long waiting times, repeated requests for water and coffee. Seemed disorganized. Lots of guests on this beautiful Sunday. But based on the website and the price, we expected something more.

Perfect venue - excellent food, great atmosphere and fantastic service. We decided to hold our wedding dinner at Wöschi after dinning there and that was a great choice. The planning, reservation and menu selection were easy. Stephanie was so helpful and well organized, she also offered the possibility to semi-privatized or privatized the restaurant; that was the deal maker :) We highly recommend the restaurant and will be back!

The location is very beautiful and special - we felt very comfortable - the location is right on the lake. Above all, the staff and the kitchen are as we imagined. Incredibly polite and attentive to our wishes - all employees throughout. The kitchen is a dream. We really had to recommend the surprise menu. It was my second time there in 4 weeks and it will definitely become my favorite place for special moments.

Everything from the early planning stages through to the actual day was simply perfect. David created the most delicious menu for us, which we all devoured and our guests are still raving about. Stephanie and her wonderful team made sure that everyone was perfectly taken care of - it was a joy to see how harmoniously the team work together - they really made the day so special. The location is stunning, right by the lake and the restaurant itself is beautifully furnished - a clean, effortless and chic vibe that reflects the new hosts. If you are looking for an exclusive venue that will meet even the highest of expectations then look no further. We will be returning again and again to this hidden gem!

The food was top class, you were full but everything was still very light. The various courses were very tasty and you could tell that they were cooked with a lot of love and skill.
