I was able to eat here twice because I was in the region for work. As a proud native of Gossau (canton of SG), I don't usually just end up in Münsingen. Food, service, ambience - the evening here at the Bären was simply a pleasure. Especially the fine and creamy herb butter with bread was a dream - before the main course started. I'd be happy to come by again when I'm in the region again :-)

We spontaneously went to eat game at Bären while we were driving through. The restaurant was very well attended, from young to old, business people, pensioners, etc. The food was excellent!!!! We wanted to go to the restaurant last Saturday at 5:30 p.m. for coffee and dessert. At first we were greeted unfriendly and told that it was too early for dessert. With little enthusiasm from the service staff, we were then served two coffees. I've eaten here several times and was satisfied every time, but treatment like that on Saturday is simply not possible. Then the restaurant opens at 6:00 p.m. and offers normal service. Am very disappointed!

As a German, you always cringe a little at Swiss menus because of the prices. But I can say in advance that it was worth every cent and I will come back! The “Bear Bratwurst” and the onion sauce tasted as good as they used to at grandma’s - your Rösti is even better ;-) the freshly tapped beer was absolutely delicious. The service was friendly, attentive and quick, even though I was alone and certainly didn't make the most money with my selection. I felt absolutely comfortable. And then the history of the house and, as an added bonus, the legend of Napoleon (be sure to read it at the front of the map). I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant as something particularly good. The price/performance ratio is absolutely right here.
